Finishing Up The Handmade Sill On Mat Armstrong's Classic BMW E24 - How To Get Covered In Underseal
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
We finally get back on with the handmade sill on Mat Armstrong's classic BMW E24 635 CSI. We finally get the last few pieces made and welded in. Its certainly coming together. We also get to removing more of the original underseal to expose yet more hidden rust.
Its safe to say they place was covered in underseal but the underside is looking fresh and wont be long until the underside is complete on this side and we are on with the body panels.

Blown away at the quality of those repairs. Once painted. No one would ever know. It is like some angels repaired the car in the night while Matt was asleep.

Nicely put!
The outro on this video was brilliant. Told me exactly when to switch from landscape to portrait and click the like, before autoplaying the next video.
You're an artist buddy. The patience of a saint too. I'm currently learning to weld so I can finish my e21 project. Your videos give me inspiration and a frame of reference to aspire to. Keep up the good work guys!
So much easier watching this on a Sunday afternoon then working on your own car...(maybe next weekend??)....What a wonder the world of KZread is..back in the day I had a gas welder, no vice, no grinder, no sander...some tin snips, a hammer and some blocks of wood...its amazing what you can do with what you have.
Its easy to just scrap this car seeing all the rust. But its one hell of a work to try and preserve this car and do all the work that it needs. Keep at it! I enjoy this restoration so far!
At what point do you guys strip a car down and send it for an acid dip? The patience you have to strip it all back manually is amazing and the repairs are top notch, but I have been wondering if an acid bath or media blasting would save you a lot of hassle? Not questioning you're methods at all, you're work is amazing - I'm just curious
I'm addicted to your channel.
It is going to look like a brand new body once these guys have finished, very impressive workmanship 👍👍
Subscribing to MA and watching the adverts has paid for the saving of this classic car, would have definately been a scrapper! Well done for MA for getting this saved and not just pocketing the money.

We are doing this for free for Mat :)
Your skill with an angle grinder is top class
The majority of the under sealer actually protected it extremely well over the years, this car will be better than Factory when completed ,cheers fella👍😉💪

You patience getting that underseal off is amazing. You deserve a medal. Top work and top video, thank you

Gangster level!!! You're a damned genius!!! I love the videos keep up the great work!!
Love the chill music on these vids
Takes a lot to work all day, then edit videos. Credit to you man. Even the filming slows you right down.
The amount of work put down on this car is out of this world! Even with a minimum wage it would add up to a Lamborghini given all the labour put i in it. The quality of these repairs is crazy good! Keep on grinding man!😊

Without the YT ad revenue, this would make no sense whatsoever. The 6 series is a cool 80's car, but not _that_ cool. Still, makes for good ASMR viewing.

This could have been sandblasted first and saved considerable time
Brilliant channel 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
i find these episodes satisfying
When I was 8 45+ years ago, my brother and I helped my poppa cut and weld the farm truck fender after it rusted, incredible to watch your skills of cut, shape and weld awesome, I’m sure Mat and team will do your skills justice when it gets back to him. Thanks 🤙🤙
Yorkshire car restoration. Your skills are amazing. So happy Matt hired Yorkshire car restoration for the money pit BMW fabrication. Now I have another excellent channel to watch. Yorkshire rules! 🍻
I was going to say what a great job, but no………. what an AMAZING job😊😊
As a retired Engineer, its so satisfying to see this classic, handsome car from BMW saved from the crusher....🤔😳😏😏😏😀🇬🇧
An amazing skill you and your dad have, and so therapeutic to watch, awesome Video 👍

Is Steve the father of Ryan?
Your basically an artist
A sand blaster would make quick work of all that underseal friend. The labor cost of all that time spent grinding throughout the build must surpass the cost of just blasting the whole car.

Your work is amazing! Your diligence in getting to ALL the rust is truly inspiring!
Magicians, that's what you are!
your level of craftsmanship is epic!
I randomly was offered one of your videos because I watched the E24 video of MA's... sure wish he could have promoted your video in some way. You gain a new subscriber. It's so interesting watching you fix stuff. Thanks, mate.
Someone said in the chat before it is quite relaxing watching these videos. I have to agree, I'm enjoying them too despite being more of a 5 series E28 fan than this 6 series but beggars can't be choosers :)
amazing as normal
Still don’t know what he’s called but he’s bloody brilliant. Love watching his work
Your diligence and attention to detail does you great credit Ryan.
Excellent work Ryan. You're a magician mate.
Can’t wait to see it done!!!
Amazing attention to detail as always! Enjoying the progress videos and I’m sure it’s all going to be worth it in the end 👌
Can't wait to see the finished product!!
This car is going to look amazing. Well done
Excellent work as always Ryan ,
Skill ,determination and huge amount of patience top job mate
Great! Always a pleasure to watch you.
I find this absorbing, it reminds me of my first Mini, that was a similar rust bucket and had to make a load of metal plates, just like this. great job
still amazed at your fabricating skills, had my doubts when you first started this , its been a great series and an eye opener
Master craftsman right there nuff said respect
You're an artist who uses a grinder instead of a brush. Fabulous work.
Real artist!
Awesome work, well done
Given the time mate, you probably could have build thee entire car 🎉🎉🎉it's excellent workmanship and skill not forgotting the attention to detail.
Top job. Very impressive work.
Great work as always Ryan , really coming together now looks great 👍
Great work! 👍🏻
Beautiful work brother, considering the state of the car when it first came in. What a hard worker you are, God bless❤
Bloody marvellous guys!
Excellent work, much appreciated your sharing, thank you.
You sir are an artist picaso of this work i am blown away by your talent ❤
Great work. It's bloody brilliant watching you work your skills and knowledge. This Bmw is going to look mint👍😁
Wonderful stuff yet again!
Fascinating. Thats it.
Excellent job! Looks original
Brilliant video and great work 👌 as always Ryan a total artist at work love the channel and what you guys do on every project well done 👍♥️
I have seen people removing that under seal with dry ice and freezing it off, your method requires huge amounts of patience. It does look like there are more good bits than bad and gives me hope for my Meriva VXR!
It must be so satisfying to have & to use the skills you have! It’s certainly a pleasure witnessing you steadily save that car. It’ll be a thing of solid beauty when it’s done. I remember them well when they were new.

Nice work Ryan. Much of that body shell, underneath that underseal, is in far better condition than I expected. As usual they always go in the lower corners.

wowwwwww. it's looking great
whatever you charge i reckon won't be enough, amazing skills, top vid 👌
Amazing work. It's incredible that this crusher candidate is worth the effort! Question: Why don't you dip these cars instead of wire-wheeling everything?
i did collage for 3 years panel beating and now a apprentice of 1 year, would dream to do something like this honestly
Great job 👍🏻
Great job done ,nice skils u have guys😎👍

Nice one, this car seems to have panels with many sharp bends. Looking forward to the next episode.🚙🚗🚘🚦

True craftsman at work , I bet this quality of workmanship to this level is rarely if ever carried out , Apart from work by Ian Tyrrel and Barkaways of course 👍👍
Gents amazing work…really curious how you manage panel shrinkage as typically there isn’t the possibility to planish back spot welds. Keep up the fine work!
