Total underestimation of the rust problem 🤣 The upside is that I am loving watching Yorkshire Car Restorations repairing it all.

Am 68 now and this is a car I always wanted but could never afford. Really looking forward to seeing how this one progresses! A huge amount of work for you but please don’t give up on it !!

I can't tell ya how much I enjoy your channel the good vibes the cool choices of cars you work on.. I'm pretty sure this BMW will test every ounce of patience you have... it's madness that you took this on but here ya go .....

An ex neighbour once stuffed his red 635csi through our farm hedge 30 years ago. Legend. He "was avoiding a cat".. at 2.30am.. I've loved these big classy cruisers ever since. Great choice Matt, you have a natural gift and gorgeous infectious style. Love it.

This is going to be a great project to watch can't wait to see how Matt takes this on and how it all comes together. Good on ya Matt

My uncle had that same Model in white. He also saved one from scrapjard, repaired even the bent Chassis and fixed it with a pair of friends, and picked me up for shopping when he was done. The drive was sooooo damn cooooool! 20 years later I bought my first BMW. His comment: "Finally a decent car!" God... I miss this guy!

Commenting before watching again, looking forward to this project so much. Drove my bosses 365csi when I was 19 back in the day, unbelievable car back then, the absolute nuts! Nice work Mat!

Fascinating insight into just how much easier it was back in the day to work on a car. Awesome content bro.

More and more respect going to you Mat. To take on an older car restoration like this is a very different to replacing a bunch of bolt on parts on a newer car. I really hope that you learn lots and ultimately enjoy this build. One of the best looking cars ever. Can't wait to see you put your twist on it. I know it's gonna end up looking low, and mean and moody. Exactly what an old 6-series should be!!

Working on a car of this age is going to be something of a trade-off. The body work and chassis will probably test you further than you have been before but, mechanically, this is a fairly straightforward beast. Not a great deal of complex electronic sub-systems to go wrong. It's going to be old school as some elements of this car probably date back to R&D work undertaken in the late 70s! This is going to be a cracking project vehicle.

Matt, you've got this. The car deserves your help. Go for it.

Mat, for any rust repair panels check out a company called Valcas garage. They do a lot of panels for classic BMW’s.

Can’t wait to watch this build progress! I love a classic BMW and the E24 is right up there with the ultimate for me 🙌🏻 I’ve just bought my own 330ci E46 to restore, any videos on rust repair are going to be invaluable 😅

Damn this car will end up killing you. Both mentally, physically and financially if you’re planning on restoring it a 100%. Worked with these type of rust jobs in my years at the shop but this looks like straight hell😅 Good luck on the build, looking forward to progression. I think it’s perfect for him to practice fabrication and welding on without the worry of messing it up. It will be make or break getting all that under seal off though😂

I had a 325 touring as i kid. Loved it. One of a few cars i wish id never sold.

This is restoration of a classic , I love seeing older cars on the road , it’s very nostalgic . When I see Triumph Dolomites they remind me of my grandfather .

This is gonna be your best build yet, I can’t wait for this series, keep goin your channel is the only one I’ve got notifications on cos i look forward to it that much, you put in so much graft it’s mental

That's got less rust than my rst did, spent 2 weeks welding that up, all 4 floorpans, both inner and outer sills, battery tray, boot floor, one inner and outer rear arch, ns a pillar and the famous fuse box tray, so I have no doubt that you can get this done

Good luck on this one matt, I think it could be the most frustrating, but most satisfying ones yet…I’ve learnt what patience actually means working on cars…1 step forward, 3 steps back! Worth it all for the landing curve.

I own several modified 80s BMWs and I love them, but you’re a complete madman for taking this on - Bravo 😂👏

Hi Matt hope your well, love the channel of all the cars you repair with a great deal of detail and skillset, enjoying this one because its a old hen box classic being brought back to life. Im an ex car mechanic and car restorer 15 yrs got a back injury retired now , but always enjoyed restoring the older hen boxes better back to showroom condition. More sense of enjoyment giving it a new sense of life

Nice to see. I restored one of these in the early 2000’s and they were just as rusty 20 years ago. There is a lot of knowledge out there about these cars.

Awesome videos. One thing I learned... by reading the manual.. is to loosen the torque converter as a window is provided to access the bolts and remove it with the gearbox.

This looks like the one I was looking at on eBay 😂 barn find, same colour, chrome front headlight surrounds. This will be fun to watch!

Oh Mat I absolutely love the 635CSI totally stoked you got this. Not bad at all. Some welding, replace brake limes with nickel lines. Fit better suspension, stainless quad exhaust , rebuild engine '- up the bhp and torque. Fit alpine stereo amplified sound system , make it look gorgeous !

NEED TO SEE THIS BUILD AGAIN!!! Love old BMWs… e30 m3 restoration next? 😉

Man, this video saved me soo much money! My 86' 635CSI wouldn't start for jack bro'! The plugs, cap/rotor & fuel pump are fairly new (2016), but been hardly made use of or run for years beyond here & there. Strong crank, but no start. Bought an ECM from a seller I've purchased from prior, installed it & she fired up straight away & runs like a top! Thanks again for the great videos fam!
