When you painted the area by the hood with the custom paint, it finished the area beautifully. As you sealed the amazing window sills and tile, the materials came alive. Your attention to detail elevates your kitchen to a higher level, especially with your custom cabinet feet. Your music choices for this video were lovely. Your video felt like a movie. Well done! 🟤⚫🖌❇

Macenna, the hot wire (black wire) loops around the GOLD SCREW and the neutral wire (white wire) loops around the SILVER SCREW.
I noticed that little spot, too. Glad you painted it. You really could do that whole wall in that color for flow. Would make your beautiful hood pop more, too. Everything is so beautiful!!!
I need a “Macenna’s Texas home paints and stains” collection!! The stain you essentially custom made is BEAUTIFUL ❤️❤️

I agree wholeheartedly. I’m in love with her color palette!
You MaCenna are proof anyone can do whatever they put their mind to! You are truly inspiring and such a breath of fresh air! Love everything you do.
I would be so tempted to use that paint sample to paint any outlet plates on the backsplash! I think it would look so seamless.
With each episode of this home's renovation, (since the demo days) I have been so proud of your progress. The joy you exude from each completed project is infectious. You truly are an inspiration. Thank you for sharing and showing us what empowerment can look like.

I would have bought furniture legs and cut them in half. I’m talking about the shorter ones like those used under a couch
The attention to the small details really does elevate the look. The feet on the cabinets are perfection!
You just do it all now little Miss Electrician. Do you ever sit back in Awe and wonder at all you've accomplished in the cottage? It amazes me!♥️♥️♥️
Love how you break things down that can be daunting. I have some understanding of installing light fixtures but the way that you went over each step of installing that plug really made it feel like the easiest task in the world. I can see how others (including myself) are inspired by your work. Not just by WHAT you do but also HOW you do it :) Cheers and a hello from Houston TX 💚
When I started watching MaCenna she was just starting to use simple tools to make things like coffee tables and benches. I remember her being hesitant, since it was all so new to her. Now she's confidently refinishing windows, and framing stud lumber, and building kitchen cabinets from scratch... The list goes a on and on. Now she's fixing her own electrical wiring!
I think painting that little section between the hood moulding and the window moulding made SUCH a difference! It looks so very good. And the little cabinet feet look SO cute on there! You could even paint the plate for the outlet that's in the tiles now, too, if you wanted to make it disappear even more! I love your videos so much. 🥺💜
I absolutely love your style. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays are my favorite days of the week!
I am happy that you have found a home you love in LA, but the cottage has my heart! It was so awesome to watch you accomplish so much!
You are so inspiring. I think the paint you used to finish the space by your hood would also be great under the tiles behind the stove. It will make it easier to clean and if you can see in the cracks beside your range once it's in, you will not see white walls. Hope that makes sense. I love how you tackle anything, so brave and accomplished. Love all that you do, always look forward to watching your next video. The Kitchen is so beautiful. You are such a breath of fresh air, bless you .
Gorgeous touch with the paint. Somehow it makes me like the tile even more. I think I might take that paint clear to the ceiling on that wall only. The whole room is coming together so beautifully.
Love the amazing progress! Great idea with painting that small space between the tile, window, and range hood. It really highlights the beautiful trim work! Have you considered taking that paint all the way up? 🤔 it would really ground the wall againt the fireplace wall and further highlight the range hood and cabinetry. Just a thought!
Watching Kinsley Prance into frame was freaking adorable and caught me off guard lol. More floor shots please 😄🥰
Don't forget to add "Finish adding shelves to interior of cabinets & sealing those interiors" to the list. You might consider sealing the unfinished cabinet exteriors around refrigerator & range, if you're not going to paint, for cleaning ease. Looking good!
I think adding the legs on the bottom of the kitchen cabinets adds such a beautiful design to the cabinets. You are so talented to just free hand draw out the leg design on to the wood. I can't wait to see your next video seeing the kitchen cabinets completed. Your kitchen is going to be beautiful.
I’m so glad you painted that little area between the range hood and the window!! It was a small detail but made a huge difference.Another detail I think you should consider is bringing the bead-board around the wall from the dinning room to meet with the refrigerator. Especially since they are both pashmina the white wall sticks out and seems unfinished.

Totally! I can finally look at the space and not think of the million little things I still need to do
I’ve been watching for alittle under a year, Holy cow your yard is so big!! Excited to see how all the trees do!
You have definitely built a beautiful house that will last for centuries. I’m glad you restored her.
I know I’m thinking ahead, but I think it’s so beautiful how your children & your children’s children get to watch how you BUILT a whole home that will be in their lives forever ❤
I don't know how many of your comments you get to but thank you so much for all your videos. I truly feel like one of your friends and your videos have brought me lots of comfort on the more lonely days. Keep doing what you are doing and know that you are making others happy.
Once again I am sitting with my mouth hanging open. Your obsession with the small stuff is an eye opener. Well done. You are an inspiration to us all.
You are the ultimate perfectionist!!! And that’s what sets your work apart from most! I am cheering you on to get this project complete
Love the little feet! You might need to add finishing cabinet sides and back wall behind the stove, at least primer if not paint. You may not see them when stove is installed, but the inevitable cooking spills down the sides and smells will be easier to clean and not become permanent in untreated areas. ( Cleaning lady advice)
Thank You for letting us go on this journey with you!!!!!!
Have you considered carrying the beadboard trim around the corner next to the fridge for those few inches?? I think it would finish that wall off beautifully.
Need or want something.. you just do it. Coming along so beautifully. Can't believe this won't be your primary residence..a dream kitchen
You could paint under the kitchen tiles “the space for the oven” with the sample tile colour paint you got :) Just knowing behind the oven isn’t “finished off” would get to me lol
I know you picked special outlet covers for over the tile, but now that you have a paint color matching the tile it might look nice to paint those!
Love your progress! Since you already have the paint for the tile, you could paint the outlets on the back splash the same color to "hide" it 😊 so exciting everytime you upload a new video

Note the correct polarity has the white wire on the silver. Having them backwards can potentially damage some electronics.
the birds singing in the background of your outdoor work gave me life 🐦✨
Love the toekick! ❤You should paint the silver outletcover in the kitchen with the gray tile paint sample, just like you did in de diningroom
I’d be tempted to use that custom color in the back coffee area and make it dark and moody like your back entry hall. It’s so pretty! ( kind of a reverse of your kitchen)

Love the foot detail on the toe kick. Also, the painted finish next to the vent hood. Well done. I'm so excited to see it completed.
if you have any extra wainscoting, I think there needs to be a piece between the refrigerator and the wainscoting in the dining room. That way it wraps around that wall and gives a clean/finished look!
@kylieharrison3782
Жыл бұрын
I thought the same. I also think the wainscotting in the dining room needs to be taller, up to the seam in the window panels. This will make that area cosier and make the artwork above the wainscotting feel proportional to the room and walls. This will also eliminate the contrasting style idea of having box frames above wainscotting aka traditional above ummm vintage isn't the correct word, victorian?
Look at this amazing kitchen coming together! I just love seeing other women using power tools! You are POWERful!
You should publish a coffee table book with photos of spaces you’ve designed! I would 100% buy it!
For the kitchen island extra space you could do a kitchen linen draw for fancy napkins, food storage for cans or spices or just a place to put your smaller vases.

Hi MaCenna, progress is looking so good! I'm not an electrician, but I was taught that black (hot) goes to the copper screws and white (neutral) goes to the silver screws. Do you have an outlet tester plug to make sure it's not reversed? And since the outlet is near your sink, I'd suggest a GFCI outlet, some building codes require it when near any water source, for added protection. Unless it's already on a line with GFCI if it's coming off of the garbage disposal or something.

Yes the neutral (white) and ground (green or bare) are always on the same side. This corresponds to the long and short prongs. Short one is always live (black or red if doing split plugs) so less chance for kids to stick metal objects in there 😉

@@Lazarrus89 question for an electrician, is wiring in that manner (reverse polarity, right?) dangerous?
Need to have a kinsley in your computer generated intro. Love you. Love watching you make your house into a home.
Kinsley 100% thought the electrical box was one of her beloved caps. You and I have different home styles, but I'm still obsessed with both of your homes and how you design them. They are gorgeous!
Watching your video and thinking to myself "wow one day your kids going to be looking back to your videos and they'll be so proud of their mom, knowing that their childhood home has been created by her and their dad's hands". You must to be so so proud of yourself guys ❤️
Great job on the kitchen. I think the part where you mention which color of wire go on which screws was backwards. The white wire should go on the white/silver screws (larger opening). And the black goes on the brass/gold screws.

Yes I thought so too! I remember the song “Black and yellow”. It doesn’t make a huge difference, as long as both black are on one side and both white are on the other (if connecting to another outlet or switch)
I’m always so happy to see your video alerts!! Thank you so much for opening up your doors to us.
I love the paint between the range hood and window. You could also us the remaining paint on the wall behind the range. Love your work. ❤

I think that would look perfect and protect her walls and cabinets.
Kinsley is very proud of her Mama as are your subscribers. Thank you MaCenna !❤
One thing I love about you is you don't stop until you design everything you create and into a high end design. you certainly could of stopped with the toe board but being you, you went all the way with the decorative side feet. Love your energy and design. you do it all. And you do it with perfection. Susan
I love all of the details so much. Not me thinking of buying a nice bottle of wine to celebrate the finishing of the dining room and kitchen
It looks SO GOOD! One possible idea… the plug cover on your oven wall already matches well, but you could even prime and paint it that color match you got for beside the hood range! Congrats on your amazing space!

Whoops others have already said the same! Great minds think alike. Bravo Macenna! ❤
When you were explaining the electrical my first thought was that you are going to be a wonderful mother. You have such a calm way about you when you teach things!
you could even paint the outlet cover with that dark green/gran/brown color! :)
Loved your attention to detail in painting the small area near the hood. Do you think it would look nice to paint the narrow patch of the wall between the refrigerator and the window upto the backsplash height in the same dark colour?
The little feet on the cabinetry is such a small detail, but it makes a big impact! Glad you decided to go forward with that design idea. So excited for part 2 where we will hopefully see that beautiful oven installed!
Love the feet. There was one spot toward the end of the video when this huge wave of pride and beauty swelled up in my heart and my brain blurted out, “Oh MaCenna!” The house is becoming so beautiful and YOU DID THIS. Don’t know why but I am almost tearing up with pride. You go girl! 😊🎉
I recommend painting and sealing the entirety of the feet, they will come in contact with water with mopping or spills you want that wood completely sealed with primer and sealer!!!! Attention to detail includes practicality as well. Great progress interested to see you build those cabinet doors. You could build them as you go and wait to paint them when the weather is clear.

I got the impression that they are done and waiting for the right day next week, warm and dry, like she mentioned at the beginning.
I can't believe how cute those little feet are! They just added sooo much to the design. Love it!
Those small details makes the kitchen look more beautiful.
You are so great, when I watch your videos I feel like abandoning my world and step into your beautiful one. Thank you
The jumping between outlets is also called daisy chaining :) I'm inspired by how you jump in and tackle your projects, learning what you need to along the way.
Can't get enough 30.25 mins make it 1hr extra long please 😫 love your channel ❤️
Ok I like Matchy Matchy and I would paint the sliver of the cream wall that shows beside the window the same green/brown paint colour as the backsplash, at the same height as the backsplash so that the green/brown colour ends where the fridge corner begins. I love this kitchen. Well done.
I would have such a difficult time deciding where to live when you have two beautiful homes!
Ugh can’t stand to wait for next video! It’s looking SO perfect. Romeo will be excited for all the ✅ on your list when he returns. 😊
Please get that beautiful oven installed girl. It will get you to a whole new level. I'm in love with that oven. Obsessed indeed. Celebrate your many accomplishments!!! Everything looks just beautiful.
I don't know you personally, but I've been watching your content for a while now and I'm just so proud of you! I've gotten my boyfriend on Team Macenna too because of how impressive you are. It's been a joy to follow your journey! This looks beautiful...and the attention to details is just so good.
Have you sealed the cabinet sides that will be next to the stove? It will make it much easier to clean when you start cooking.
I am absolutely in awe of your skills and talent. I just watched open-mouthed as you fitted that plug with such ease. You're an inspiration!
It makes me so happy to see you finish all these little things! 😁
I am so in love with the little feet design element!! How genius!
SO glad you painted that little area by the back splash. Such a small detail made it so much better. Use the rest of the paint sample to paint the outlet covers? 😊
Ever since you were in Texas at your new house, I was dreaming of these videos of you doing all the finishing touches of this gorgeous kitchen.A true labor of love
I've been genuinely obsessed with the little-cabinet-feet look for a while now. I mean I totally get what people are saying about being tough to clean behind, and I'm usually someone who prioritizes practicality, but in this case I do not care, I love the little feet so much and I must have them😂

Just make yours as thick as the space and then it won’t be a problem.
I discovered your channel right as we were starting a complete house renovation, including gutting our kitchen and starting over. I was planning to go with the whole "white and bright" asthetic and when I started watching your videos, I fell in love with your design choices and changed our plans. Now our kitchen has white walls but countertops with dark veins, moody cabinets (submarine gray by Behr) and a dark wood backsplash and I love how it turned out. Thank you for the inspo!
I remember when you came up with the sketches for the kitchen and I was just wanting to see it and now we do! And it looks so good!
Love, love, love your videos! I’m always so eager to watch the next Reno or vlog. I’m only at sealing the windows in this makeover, but saw your outlet while you were sealing. Idea: maybe buy the paintable outlets/electrical plugs and use your new tile matched paint. So they will pretty much disappear in between the tiles 👍🥰

OMG lady you have changed my mind with this renovation. You make me feel I can do the same. But most importantly you have inspired me. You’re amazing. ❤❤
This video feels like a TV show. I hope you go down in diy history like Martha Stewart
😃 PERFECTION 🤩 ✏️ GOIN THROUGH THAT LIST SO QUICKLY!!! I LOVE IT EVERYTHING LOOKS GORGEOUS 👍 👍 👍
This is genuinely the best project I have ever seen. And I am actually so glad I found it after you finished it, I have been absolutely BINGING these renovations!! My S/O and I are looking at an early 1900s home and the kitchen in it is pretty much stripped down to the bones. I really want to consider building it or at least working on the carcasses that are already there for starters! You have given me the upmost confidence even though I’ve never done something like this. Thank you for everything and you are absolutely amazing at everything you do ❤️
The feet look great. Your kitchen is a showstopper. Everything is beautiful. And you did so much of it yourself. Totally amazing and impressive. ❤
Girllll, you made assembling the plug looked effortless!
I love the little feet it adds to the feel of your Folk Victorian Cottage! I can’t wait to see how they look by the stove. I’m my own opinion I would paint all of the exposed surfaces even if they won’t really be seen to make sure they are protected from spills and messes.
Wow! My dream kitchen. You have worked so hard and deserve all the goodness the world can offer!!
Great job. I’m loving the progress. Now that you have matching tile paint, I’d use it to camouflage the wall outlet in your backsplash. It would be less noticeable.
Yes!!! Love seeing you finish the details-- it's so hard to get there! Painting that little section around the hood was EVERYTHING! Thanks for the motivation to get to work on our own projects :)
I am so insanely obsessed with these videos and everything she produces. Incredible level of production, high attention to detail, and just an amazing woman that can seriously do anything. Such an inspiration to me I can’t wait to one day renovate a house of my own
Hey MaCenna! Absolutely love your videos. I'm a residential architect based out of NYC, but I'm trying to pivot into furniture design and fabrication, and your story is really inspiring! Something we do for our cabinetry designs: For the kitchen feet, instead of building up multiple wood layers, you can install a block piece behind the foot that's the same width as the base of the foot. That way it'll be squared off at the base, and you can just paint it the same color as the rest of the kick. Looks good and easier for cleaning. I guess your design might make it a little difficult, but might be good info for the future. Again, love the channel :)
