I'll be 80 in 4 months and would like to help these men. BUT, the commute from Oregon, USA, daily, weekly, monthly, just might be a problem. I'm proficient in ceramic tile, house building, cabinet building.......where's my tool belt?

Why doesn't Rick give Yannis a break from the heavy work. Rick looks like he works out in the gym but he never seems to use the crow bar or the jack hammer. 🤔

My dad was a beast working around the house until he was diagnosed with ALS at age 90. An amazingly strong and hard working man. It’s nice to see someone like him with a great work ethic.

I just love Yanis. Can you do a feature on him so we can see him chatting to you about who he is. He's so lovely but we know nothing about him❤

Maybe he doesn't have a ot of extraordinary things to explane ! Maybe isn't a guy of who likes to talke a lot either. For me it's ok like it is. Michael and Billy don't say a lot of private things either and it's fine.

It must have been almost impossible to heat this place, so using the thick layer of earth/clay was meant to work as much needed insulation when there weren’t other options. Imagine what it was like when there were only wooden floors and the very high ceilings.

Its been added to over 250 years or so. That's why the door frames are so short. Once Billy and crew get the floors to one level then the door frames will be normal height.

Now we know why the beams sagged. All those layers must weigh tons!

What a great way to end the week. Can’t believe how many layers were removed. Love that Rick is so positive-half of a day going to the tip 😂

The light in that room is, for lack of a better word, divine.

My mother did the exact same. She had 4 heart attacks and continued to work outside in her yard. Those folks were TOUGH .

Perfect spot to have a delicious lunch. The lighting and ambiance is perfect; no crumbs to sweep up off the floor; no mess on the table. Absolutely perfect!

Yanis has two really distinct modes for working. When he is plastering he is serene and fluidly graceful…give him something to demolish, and he is a right beast. Love to see his transformation. In the kitchen he is surprisingly delicate, a man of many styles.🖤🇨🇦

It never fails to amaze me how things were built before power tools. Your renovation of this magnificent building caught my attention when you HAD to clear the courtyard. Billy, have you considered leaving the I-beam across the space in the library? It would be a lovely "catwalk" between sides allowing easy access back and forth. You could clad the beam and add, of course, safety rails to the catwalk. It would be efficient and save you a LOT of time and money. I really don't see the need to have it completely open. Also, that beam is probably keeping the walls from collapsing. I'm guessing you already talked to an engineer about this.

I noticed Yanis is also working on the apartment at the convent...when does he sleep?!!

Yannis picked up the correct knife to cut the pizza. A cleaver is the one I use. A Chinese cleaver is very thin and sharp. A butcher cleaver is thick and sharp only at the cutting edge. Pick whichever the situation calls for. I always use a cleaver for pizza cutting.
