I used a different but similar cooling neck fan in the past. They work great! During COVID when we all had to wear face masks I used mine year round to keep my glasses from fogging over. 😎

Let's just leave the magical Simon out of this. Yanis is fabulous! He's hard-working, dilligent, and exacting on himself. So what if he wipes his fingers on his work clothes instead of on a cloth? He's a first-class citizen, contributing to something greater than the restoration of a property.

As a former employer in the States, I can honestly say that you have a true gem in Yanis. He is such a hard worker, conscientious, willing to learn. I’d truly would have loved to have someone like him(beside my husband) work for us. He is a rare person in this present day world! Take special care of him. 😉

Billy, Love the channel my wife and I have followed you and Michael for years. I'm a timber staircase builder from Australia, I specialized in curved stairs and handrails. You are absolutely correct that your large timber balusters were made on a bandsaw and because you have the originals still you will be able to make a template to transfer the design quite easily. A CNC lathe or 5axis machine could do the work for you but with the amount of work required to program and get each individual piece in the machine depending on how many you need it may be easier to make them by hand. I'd love to discuss this more if you'd like. Keep up the amazing work! Cheers mate.

SHOUT OUT TO YANIS! Why Simon doesn't get much plaster on him... cuz he had Yanis to open and mix the plaster, haul the buckets into to work area, mix all the plaster batches and hand whatever Simon needed directly to him! YANIS is doing all those jobs on his own with minimal assistance. YANIS IS STUDENT BECOME THE MASTER, or on the way to mastering with a few more years. Also, he's not used to his long hair and concave ceiling plastering, so he's getting a bit messy. All the best to that man and all of your crew Billy.

@@kbtubist i could be wrong but I think what was meant is that it'd be nice to hear Yanis chattering on uninhibitedly in French rather than struggling in English. He does very well but it's not the same. Forgive me if I understood incorrectly :)

I had the same thought , while watching Yannis plastering the ceiling area , He is a very hard worker indeed.

Lovely to see Michael regain all his old self confidence …….would be nice to see how his cottage looks now …! Great also to see work being done at the Chateau again ….lots going on ….! xx

When I see Yanis I just want to give him a hug! He reminds me of my own son and I admire his dedication, diligence and focus on getting the work done and done right. Really enjoying seeing Michael as well. Will be interesting to see how those ballastrades for the library are sourced!

It makes you wonder if all those beams would have remained usably straight if they had not had to cope with so many floor layers.

Never expected to hear a BB King (blues) instrumental on your site. A great blues artist.

Love the coffer ceiling of the kitchen. Our art museum has such ceilings. A few years ago, Billy introduced Coolify. i have not tried it. The Gallery will be a nice place to display curiosities as in curios I have in my home which display a plethora of historical things that were used my family members decades ago. Yiannis has become a "Jack of all trades" like me.

Yanis should begetting double pay for this horrendous overhead work! I did work on ceilings, filling gaps between tiles and painting many coats over top.it’s awful work fur the arms and shoulders. And then there’s the added curves of the scalloping! Wow! Hard work! And he’s making it look easy! He’s got the whole ceiling to do! Great work!

I bought one of those neck air conditioners for my daughter last year for Christmas, from your video! She loves it! ❤️😂

Billy, looking at all you have accomplished since the beginning is just amazing. When you think of all the work that has been done by just a few men it is mind blowing. I have seen buildings being renovated by large crews and your few workers are doing a wonderful job. The ceiling looks amazing , watching Yannis polishing the plaster makes the ceiling look amazing.

Yanis is doing a great job on the plastering. I’m impressed as he really has just learned this skill. Considering how they kept adding floors, no wonder some of the beams are bowing.

Michael, when you are working in the sun wear a white or light blue shirt. Black absorbs the sunlight and feels very hot while white or light blue reflects the heat. Try it.

They have duplicating lathe machine. You take the post, and it will copy it. Not sure how much it would cost for machine. I've only seen it on a few home improvement shows.

I don't think that would work. A tracing lathe is usual for round turnings, not square like these are. I think a CNC would be the best option. Main expense is writing the program so the more they make of each design the cheaper each piece becomes.

How about photos and profiles of the individuals who worked on the convent with you? In the years to come it will be of interest to many and will be of historic importance. How wonderful it would be if you found a book, file, or photos of the previous residents of the convent. :)

I was wrong about the red bed curtains. They look lovely after a second look. And Yannis, when I paint I wipe it on my clothes as well. Nothing wrong with that.

I would love to see you and Michael build a Tudor style cottage. I live in a 500 year old Tudor half timbered cottage in the heart of the English countryside and it would be so interesting to see you try to replicate the build of one. Apart from the flooring, mine has somehow managed to retain all of the original features despite the introduction of electrics, plumbing and changing hands many times in the past 500 years. If anyone could pull it off I think you and your team could.

When you were talking around the balustrade and the handrails to reproduce, ...I looked at the pink doors... for me it was as if "ears were listening"; ] and then the library seen from above, I wanted to integrate everything slowly (min 15:09 ), I stopped the video. Let my eyes wander across the empty space from corner to corner, back to where the camera was and up above the beam. Is it the one who smiles? ; ) What a space to be!
