Thank you so much! I love knitting but my closet has no more room for knitted sweaters so I found I really wanted to move on to things that challenged me creatively.

I love love my amble socks...I throw them in the wash but lay flat to dry like your perfect socks. They definitely felted a little but i love the warmth and thickness. ok editing to say your knitted art idea is awesome!!!

Thanks for sharing!! I've been wearing my able socks a ton and I'm really not sure if they are felting or just really good at picking up cat hair. I've been day dreaming of a sweater knit to match the capella slippers

Another great video. You are quite an adventurous knitter. I look forward to seeing all the progress on your knit artwork. I can’t imagine what it is like to live in Okinawa and soon you will be moving to Germany. Very exciting. 😊

I 100% respect your drive to finish everything before you leave. It's easy to forget about them once they get packed up by the movers. There is so much cool yarn and festivals where you are going. It will be exciting! The Barber cords are great for trying on your knitting. I haven't been able to get them to fit in socks. Have you tried them in fingering weight sweaters? I'm wondering if I'm doing it wrong or they are just too big for small needles. Or, if its the texture of the yarn...

I haven't had any luck with the knitting barber cords on small needles. I tried really hard to make them work when I was knitting my Bohus hat and couldn't.

Love your podcast! Knitting and overseas travel - what could be better. I live in Asheville NC now but have lived in Misawa, Japan; Zweibrucken, Germany, and Angeles City, Philippines (retired AF). I hope you love Germany. I certainly did. Thank you for your podcast about the Master Knitter course. I don't feel up to it yet but decided to take their Basics course. Viel Spass in Deutchland!

It does come in handy when you live in a culture where you take your shoes off all the time.... not so great when it rains which I always forget about until I put my foot down in a puddle.

I am excited to follow your journey onwards into a new country and a new culture (and new yarn). Best of luck with your wall-hanging. You are a brave soul 😮

I did knit the shawl! It's the Orenburg Warm Shawl, I got the pattern as part of a class on Interweave Knits. "The Orenburg Warm Shawl Online Workshop" talks about the history of cottage knitting in Orenburg, Russion, the style of knitting and types of fibers used in that area and comes with the pattern and tutorials for how to do some of the unique techniques like Russian grafting. You can also find other shawl patterns by the class instructor on Ravelry, her name is Galina Khmeleva. Also I talk about that project in episodes 27, 28, and 43.
