Right. I did finger coils the other day. They took me 4 hours and they didn't even come out right. My hair would be perfect finger coils in the back then the crown of my head they started getting puffy and the front of my hair would coil til about halfway down and then the rest was straight. It looked like I was transitioning from a relaxer in the front and I didn't like it at all. I washed it out the next day and did a wash n go to make sure my hair wasn't damaged. I'll try again in a few months but I'll try finger rolling instead. All that patience just for it not to come out right. Smh.

@Harley Myers You'll need products suited for type 2c-3a hair. Since I fall in this category, mousse gel grade 2 or 3 works wonders for my curls, just make sure there's a leave in conditioner beforehand. And of course you'll need a cowash, S&C, and a deep conditioner. Optional is a sea salt spray to add more volume. And never style your hair when its dry, soaking wet is best in my experience. I ended up damaging my hair. For like 5 months, I didn’t straighten my hair cuz we had no events or guests and I was too lazy to do anything. I have seen a huge difference between the roots and the ends. After I have seen my favorite actors with perfect hair, I never said I wished I had straight hair, I said I wished I had perfect curls. Now I am taking care of my hair and didn’t use iron and heat in months. My hair is becoming better and better and it is even growing very long! Now, the only thing I am thinking about is if I should cut my damaged ends (which will make my hair when it’s curly very short) or just repair them.

I have a curl pattern between your hair and Amanda's and the length goes to just past my mid back, so it's long. it does take A LONG TIME lol to do this, but the results are so worth it!!

One of the things I usually struggle with when finger coiling, using the denman brush or any other method where I style each curl separately is that my curls go into different direction (counter-clockwise, clockwise) seemingly at random. So when wet, I tend to scrunch them first to see which way they rotate and then style them accordingly. Just looking at Mel's video and the direction the curls turned afterwards, I think doing the finger rolling *under* the hair clump (‾‾o) makes the curl go clockwise, so rolling them *above* the hair clump (__o) should make them go counter-clockwise. I think. As I don't see what else would affect the direction. I need to try it :D
