Finding Ways To Create Habits For Actions We Want To Take

We all have big plans at times, but will you succeed or fail with what you plan to do?
So how can you come as close as possible to actually taking the steps that you plan to take?
This snippet from my interview about strategies for keeping on track with @raelan.agle will hopefully go towards answering that question.

I walk the dog for about an hour most days. I think the greatest benefits are from doing it on the bad days. It's never particularly enjoyable, but pushing through on the bad days feels like a good accomplishment.

Doing what we can to feel good is important, and yes sometimes we need a bit of a nudge. It's a fine line between pushing ourselves and being pro-active - seeking activities that give us joy is key. I wonder if you can find ways to make your walks enjoyable!?

@CFSUnravelled1 perhaps a better phrasing would be it's as enjoyable as it can be. Fms Cfs Rheumatoid and osteoarthritis. I'm well enough now to sit on the grass for five or ten minutes and still be able to stand up after that. I sit and watch the river and the trees, I pat my dog Molly and I give thanks for the things I can do.

I am not aware of any research that categorically answers this question in regards to emotional flattening. However, I have seen many people make recovery progress who are experiencing depression and anxiety. It is important that mental health conditions be addressed in parallel to the cfs recovery efforts. Hope you feel a bit better soon.

Hey @@AkashKumar-saini_ We don't include visualisation at this stage as some folk struggle with this sort of thing, however, I am not saying that such approaches aren't helpful. ANS REWIRE uses a range fo strategies, physical as well as brain-training. The brain training includes multiple options and starts with a somato neurological approach.
