Finding Reliable Health Information with Tina Griffin, FSHD University

Most of us turn to “Dr. Google” to find medical and health information, but how do we know the information is trustworthy? When our health and well-being are at stake, we need to be extra careful. Tina Griffin, MLIS, Associate Professor and the library liaison to the Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine at the University of Illinois Chicago, works with individuals and other community organizations to help them learn how to access data and information to advance their health education and research goals.
Griffin's previous experience in molecular biology included the entire research lifecycle from experimental design through data management to publication. Her research interests include data management education, informatics, and ethics. Her current day-to-day work includes developing curriculum on data management, reference service on chemical and drug resources; offer consults on research data management process improvement on an individual and laboratory level, and provides evidence synthesis support.
