    AIR was a very rocky ride for me on my first consumation since I watched the heavily flawed anime adaptation before the VN, however the true scope of AIR's story along with its themes and messages really pulled hard when I finally got to that VN read, leading to probably the hardest I had ever cried in my life. Misuzu is a very precious character to me, one of my favorites Key's written even to this very day. Great video Nei, always love to see some AIR love

    YES!! I really empathize with you there, once everything came together it was devasting. It's hard to listen to Blue Skies, Summer Light, Silver, or many other tracks without a few tears coming along. I too absolutely adore Misuzu. I could relate to her on so many levels, with her arc throughout AIR making it one of my favorite visual novel routes so far. Her and Haruko's relationship both warmed my heart, and broke it shortly after. Thank you so much, seeing the love and passion that continues to burn is astounding!

    Summer and Air routes left me absolutely speechless. Such wonderful routes. The Kano and Minagi routes were fine to me, but those last two were really something special. Everytime I hear "Farewell Song" I can't help but be taken back.

    Those are really what made Air stand out so much. It was such a great narrative twist that brought many heart warming moments! All of Air's OST was fantastic, Blue Skies still never fails to well up some tears, haha!

    Very good video. Really glad that you enjoyed Air. I personally didn't enjoy Kano and Minagi's routes. I didn't even enjoy the Summer route despite it's importance to the plot. But the Air route is amazing and probably my favorite route Jun Maeda has wrote. Good look when you get to Clannad, it's pretty long.

    I didn't enjoy Kano's route much either, but something about Minagi's stuck with me. It just had a great balance of character chemistry and drama that I could feel for. Though I do see where you're coming from, some moments drag on for just a bit too long in most routes. I compeltely agree, Air is such a pheneomenal route with some of the best emotional highs! It really turned Misuzu and Haruko into some of my favorite characters of all time! Thank you! I'm really excited to start Clannad!

    Great video on Air! I’m a huge huge fan of it, and it’s awesome to hear the thoughts of someone who really GETS it. Most people seem to miss all its subtleties, which is a real shame.

    Thank you! At least from what I have read so far, it's one of Key's more abstract works with how its themes and narrative intertwine. One of the many reasons why it has really stuck with me to this day. Really wish there was more talk surrounding it!

    @@NeNeiSan For sure! It’s got a super unique story that I really haven’t seen anywhere else, so it’s really stuck with me a lot. Hopefully they remake the anime at some point, I would love to see it build up more fans.

    @@NeNeiSan I've been casually playing through Clannad the past couple years. I'm very excited to see what you think of it, especially the Nagisa "Together Forever" arc. I won't spoil it, but that's my favorite one so far! Hope you have an amazing day :) Edit: I do realize that the Clannad video is out, I just haven't watched it yet.

    Welp I'm back here to mention I have just finished in the VN. And I have to say that VN has got to be a 9/10 from me. Really it was only held back by Kano's route. I would say the peak of the game was Minagi's route and of course the finale AIR. I do really appriciate though how the end is kinda up to your own intepretation.

    @NeNeiSan Sucks you don't cover much except VNs and I've explored very little of that genre, would you recommend something thats around the lenght of air?

  • @NeNeiSan

    @NeNeiSan

    Жыл бұрын

    Gladly! Most of the VNs I have read are similar to AIR in length, fitting the 30-40 hour range. There is Kanon, also by Key, that follows a teenager returning to a town of his childhood that he has no memory of. As he becomes reacquainted with the town and meets various people there, he slowly starts to remember what he has forgotten. Ef - A Fairy Tale of the Two which is heavily inspired by Key. It's one I finished just a month ago and has not left my head for a single day afterwards. It follows different people who are stuck in life and trying to find their own happiness and stability. It's a one-of-a-kind story that uses the medium to its advantage to convey some really heartwarming messages! Witch on the Holy Night, one of my personal favorites, that takes place in an urban fantasy setting following 3 protagonists who are vastly different, coming to understand the world and people around them. They all are character driven narratives that have great atmospheric writing and emotional highs, with Ef and Witch on the Holy Night having top notch art and production. I have made reviews on all of them, so if you want to know more, I go a lot more in-depth without spoilers. VNs are defintiely a niche medium, but there is honestly a lot of really well-told and unique stories out there within. I really just make videos on whatever I feel like talking about, it just so happens VNs have been my been my major interest over the past few years. I will gladly make videos on other subjects as long as it catches my interest and feel I can add to the discussion!

    how i wish Jun and Orito would still do these types of VNs and then Kyoto Animation would adapt them! i dont know what happened but they all went their separate ways and Keys VNs nowadays dont come close to their early works (and thats not nostalgia, i played Air Kanon around 15 years after they were released)
