    Mahoyo is such a beautiful piece, in this world of fantasy we get such a comforting and personal character driven story that just works so well. It's small in scale, but honestly does enough to set and build this world of Type-Moon that other works would then follow, and its cast is some of the best in the franchise, balancing entetainment and depth perfectly without sacrificing either, it's such a masterpiece and I cannot wait for the next TM work to drop.

    You put it brillantly. It strays from the norm of most Type-Moon works, but in doing so creates a unique essence that's difficult to replicate. I cannot either! We have more FGO and Tsukihime stuff on the horizon for certain, but Mahoyo piques my interest in new works that are not apart of their established series. Maybe Girls' Work or a completely new IP, who knows? Only time will tell, and I am more than happy to wait for something like that!

    I'm right there with you! It's not as large scale as Stay Night, or as intense and anxiety-inducing as Tsukihime, but just intimate with it's characters and atmosphere. Would love to see Nasu write more stuff like this!

    I finished the MahoYo main story on New Years Eve and I have to say it's really Nasu's best work by far. For me at least. It's a simple story but carried by great characters. Aoko is my favorite Type Moon heroine and MC now. Alice and Shizuki are great deutergonists. Meanwhile Touko and Beo did a good job as antagonists. I'm very interested to see how the story of Soujuurou-kun and the two witches will continue ^^

    It has been months since I finished this novel and still I cannot forget about it, so I often come back to its world and characters. I really hope the movie goes well, because this story deserves love. Fortunately, the news of the Steam release are great (though I hope they fix some of the texts issues I encountered, specially in the last chapters where certain sentences had a "/" at the beginning for no reason). Great video btw.

    Same here. Every so often I listen to the OST and I'm thrust back into the emotions of reading it for the first time. It has an atmosphere that is just as impactful as it is comforting. Depending on how many movies they decide to do, it could go one way or the other, but like you, I'm remaining hopeful! the Steam release was really surprising to hear about, fixing those small typos would make it a lot better. Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

    The localization is weird in many places as it falls at worst to losing important delicate context to the characters (or things related to them) and at best its just weird editing with typos. Still, its arguably better then most fan translations that is and will exist probably (so far i liked old BL one at most out of them but its just me). Good one on this seemingly in-house team. Now waiting for TsukiRe English localization as Nasu said he wanted to do.

    Yeah, I saw a few posts pointing out the contextual errors in the translation, which is in someways disappointing, but am still really glad with what we did get. That's what I'm most concerned about. I feel like they would be able to fit all the major key points into 1 movie, but doing so will take away the essence of the story and characters. The slow SOL is a major part so I hope they don't scrap it in favor of a face-paced plot. I don't think they've confirmed how many they are making or how long they will be, so I'm hoping for the best!

    So the Sequel will be about Alice and what it means to be a Witch. And if Souju full arc will be not finished in the sequel, then planned Threequel will wrap this brilliant story very beautifully however much it could be bittersweet, seeing by lore hints here and there.

    Since this part of the story focused on Aoko's struggle between her role as mage and her life as a human, having the following two play out how you described is so interesting, and would complete a beatiful thematic trilogy! Though it does have an open-ended "completeness" to it, there are many ways these characters and their lives could be expanded. That whole thing with Shizuki's bandages is a total mystery so far and love to get more details about it. Hopefully we get an announcement for it within the decade! Cannot wait for that day!

    Does it have any connection to Fate stay night and tsukihime or would you say it is mostly separate since I do they take place in the same universe. Also would you recommend this as a good starting point for nasu verse among visual novels or would you say it is better to read fate stay night or Tsukihime first then they have gotten their remake outs in official release?

  • @NeNeiSan

    @NeNeiSan

    2 ай бұрын

    I would say this is one of the better starting point for anyone getting into Nasu's works! This was originally going to be Nasu's first ever published novel back in the 90s--- of course revised and changed over time ---and you can tell with how it so succintly establishes the world and its major characters. Each of Nasu's works can be read standalone, and though a lot of worldbuilding ideas and even some characters are shared between these works to varying degrees, your understanding won't be majorly affected. You can really go in whatever order that interests you, but if you don't really mind and just want to see what this world has to offer this is the order of the major entries I recommend to understand as much references upon your first viewing of these entries: Witch on The Holy Night - Kara No Kyoukai: Garden of Sinners - Tsukihime - Fate/Stay Night Again they aren't majorly connected, but Nasu likes to make callbacks quite often and allows you to get a sense of progression of a few shared characters. Nothing major, but something you can appreciate on the side!

    This is actually really interesting because I have had an idea about a very similar storing that could take place in the nasuverse my stories idea is about a normal person who somehow discovered that magecraft exist and then decides to dedicate their life to learn magecraft despite the fact they are not a mage and do not come from a mage family. So I'm surprised that such a similar story actually exist in the nasuverse.

  • @NeNeiSan

    That is pretty interesting! While Soujyuro does become aware of magecraft, he doesn't learn any of it. So that does leave open another story where it follows that very premise. That's honestly something I would love to see, as the process of learnring magecraft isn't touched upon all that often, especially from someone completely unaware of the mystery side of the world discovering it all on their own.
