The yellow music notes are social link points. You need a certain amount of them to get the next rank. Once you have enough points you will rank up at the next proper hangout with that person. If you have a persona of the same arcana with you, each music note is worth 2 points. Otherwise each music note is worth 1 point. The amount of points required differ per rank and even per person. When you talk to an available social link it will indicate if you have enough points: “Our bond will become closer soon” = you have enough points for rank up “We won’t become closer even if we hang out” = You can hang out to get more points, but you won’t rank up yet.

Maybe when the tutorial said “guard to protect against weaknesses” it meant you should… guard to protect Junpei’s weakness.

Good job taking doen that boss! For the future, I _highly_ recommend saving before bosses like that in case you need to for example change personas :P

I do recommend using more moves like Rakunda and support skills in general. Persona/SMT as a series really are one of the rare RPG series where support skills really does matter and making fights a whole heck a lot easier. Especially when you struggle a little bit on that Gatekeeper boss fight when you had rakunda you can debuff the defense of the enemy and you can hit way harder. So overall the support skill are great

46:56 Ok, so since Innocent Sin Online is just a Persona 2 reference, an interesting character you might want to know from the first two games is Philemon, he's the one saying these words. Philemon doesn't really appear or is mentioned in modern trilogy, but the blue butterfly you see in these games is his current form. He is the master of Igor and the creator of the Velvet Room, and he basically exists in unconscious of all people, granting some of them ability to summon their Personas. A very cool guy, hope he'll be finally back in Persona 6

I hope to also see the cameos of more or less important characters from the 3-5 trilogy too, all grown up/older if it takes place even further into the future than P5.

Shark catching on with the Arcana Boost on social stats early is going to help him so much later on.

I just wanted to point out something minor since it looked like you misunderstood what the game was trying to say in the previous episode: About the old couple, you need to go to the persimmon tree yourself in the school first, and THEN talk to them at the shop to unlock their social link arcana.

Is Shark gonna remember that he doesn't need to use a Persona to use Slash and Fist attacks aside from Yukari's? The characters themselves have weapons for a reason. Good way to test enemy weaknesses without wasting HP.

Shark you CAN talk to Mitsuru bro. There's literally a "Let's chat" option when you go to her

You can go into the skills menu at anytime to healing skills outside of battle.

For gatekeepers you can teleport back and forth to save before the fight.

Fun fact about the personas that aren't original exclusive to a character persona (like Orpheus, or Hermes), Each of the other obtainable personas designs are lifted straight out of the Shin Megami Tensei games, which is the parent series that Persona spun off of (In that series, They are collectively just called Demons.) Jack Frost specifically is kinda-sorta the mascot monster of the SMT Franchise, and in general, is snuck into most of Atlus's other games, one way or another.

Mitsuru does have dialogue just like every other person in the dorms (When you select “Just wanted to chat”).

Get used to shifting ALOT - its the core mechanic that they have taken from Persona 5 too make combat flow easier and eventually if the upgrades for it are similar too p5s baton pass it will be intergral to your win A quick note that the limit to Shifting is the amount of party members you have - you just cant go back to anyone whos already shifted , so in instances where you shifted from Yuka to Makoto and then had Makoto do 2 fire attacks its better to shift to Iori for Fire attacks and then leave Makoto open to take care of anything else because unlike the others he has access to every element - just a hopefully helpful tip 👍 loving the videos

19:48 ok, so my entire month of may was just like eating burgers at Wilduck cause that would start unlocking more menus in other shops, and other stuff; so I just ignored Mitsuru for this entire month and she was spamming me every like two days in a threatening red colour that her pfp has. I think I joined like at the end of may because I didn't have many people to hang out with, and I didn't want to hang out with Kaz. I don't really like Mitsuru so I expected it to be her social link, but it actually wasn't

Figuring out enemy weaknesses isn't really as intuitive like in other bigger RPGs. It really is like a guessing game for half of them.

If you check the moves of the enemy OR base it off their design and name you can usually guess the weakness pretty fast. If they use only ice skills, they are weak to fire!
