I had a brand new Behr radiator/trans cooler tank break open allowing coolant into the transmission and it ruined the clutch packs on a Volvo S60 2.4T; $3500-$4000 fix or ~$1500 for a good used transmission. Fortunately Behr covered the repair.

Hey Nathan, Yesterday I was replacing my fuel purge valve on my m54 when a friend who was helping pulled the vacuum line that attaches to the rear of the valve off of the other end. Yikes. I then knew I was in trouble. PS. Don't buy the DELCO purge valve because we couldn't get it attached to the bottom clip. So, Please tell me where I am going to find the other end of the vacuum hose. Thank you for being such a great resource for us idiots who get in trouble trying to be Nathan! God Bless ya!

Great video as always. You mentioned a shudder in high gear, have you any idea for the cause of a shudder in first gear on an E46? It only ever happens when I'm pulling into my gates which is a sharp turn and on an incline. I've replaced the water pump, tensioner pulley and belt. No idler pulley as its an m43. :/ She runs great otherwise.

Euro E46 could be the trans mount, guibo, center carrier, or possibly subframe problems

Hey Nathan , I'm looking at buying a used 2001 325i for $2500 , I've already gone through the steps you showed in your videos to determine any problems it may have, everything' checked out fine. I have good mechanic skills and I feel confident to do most if not all the work myself. Is it a smart purchase?

Hey Nathan at the start you said something about fixing the transmission shudder under hard acceleration. I've looked hard, but I can't find that. Can you post a link? (Could that be a VANOS problem?)

The fan clutch of my E39 M62 is making loud roar noise upon acceleration. It is like a jet engine taking off. The noise goes away at idle though. I'm not sure whether the fan clutch is locking up as the sound increases proportion to engine RPM. The fan clutch appears in good shape, there is sufficient resistance when it spun by hand. The temp gauge has always been fine. Any ideas?
