    Thanks for the great analysis. I have never seen such a pithy, yet dense approach to geolocation on the KZread scene

    Thanks bro. This is useful, but could you go into more detail and explain more detailed and useful tools which may come in handy. Also, not just photos, and videos but other stuff realated to OSINT.

    Hey, These are great. I wish you would give more details on which tools and how you actually use them.

    Thank you, I'm glad you like them! I don't really use any tools in these videos, they're more of a critical thinking exercise. I'm working on a couple more episodes of the Quiztime challenges, and then perhaps I could try to make a video on tools and techniques. Anything in particular you'd like to see?

    @@Nattic What I mean is you skim over what you're actually doing as if we all know. You say stuff like, "Now I opened this. Then I did this. Then I went here." You don't actually say exactly what you do. As for tools, I consider Yandex, Google Earth tools. For example: you had the video of the boat. You froze a frame then isolated two signs which you turned into two separate images and then translated but you never said how to do that?

    @@willpfister Ok I see what you mean now. The scene you're referring to was a cropped recording of Google translate with "Dark Theme" enabled. I recorded my screen as I typed the German text of the sign into Google translate. When I was editing the video, I then cropped that recording to just the translation box to try and add some creative elements to the video. Perhaps I should just do a normal screen recording all in one take of how I complete a challenge, and focus less on the post production editing. I think that might be more step by step tutorial style. I'm finishing with editing the next video as we speak, but after that I'll switch up the format. If there's anything in particular you'd like to see, let me know. Thanks for feedback, this is really helpful!

    @@Nattic OK, so how do you enable "Dark Theme"? (I think I know but a tutorial should assume people don't. ) How do you stop a video w/o the 'pause', 'forward', and 'back symbols? Which video editor? How do you crop? Etc. These are things you just do naturally because you've learned them but would be nice for newbies. You don't have to answer. Your videos are wonderful. They made me search to answer those questions so maybe that's OK too.

    Great vid. But I do not get why you immedietly knew that the boat was filmed from the left side. I mean it was true but it could have also been that we were standing on the right side and the boat just drove the other way around so still going to the left.

  • @Nattic

    @Nattic

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for watching, I'm glad you liked it! We had already determined that the boat was on its way back to the starting point based on the music and the schedule. If we had been standing on the right side, and we saw the boat traveling to the left, then the boat would have been traveling in the opposite direction of the starting point. If we didn't know that the boat was traveling back to the starting point, then you would be correct. It would have been much more difficult to figure that part out. Let me know if that was still confusing!

    Thanks for watching! I don't charge, I usually just find challenges that people share on Twitter and make tutorials for educational purposes 😀
