I like how you're straight to the point, there's no unnecessary nonsense on your videos, for example epic music while you show your photos or some click - baity idiotic titles, etc. Thanks very much for being real and down to earth!

Thanx for a great video Andy. I think you are a great teacher when it comes to composition and editing. And as many had told you before me i think you are one ofthe best out there. When it comes to composition at least my expiriace is that the best thing you can do is to take the time at a place to really make sure you got all the angeles as you said. But that can be a hard one when you are at a place such as Iceland or lofoten. So much to see :-) Have a great day.

Excellent video. I found the explanation of the editing choices and approaches to different types of images very helpful (around 6min mark). Would love to see more examples of this in future videos if possible. The editing process was also very interesting. As always great content.

What a great video Andy, thanks for taking us all the way from start to finish on your process. There was something about your contagoius excitement at the beginning of the video that really came through and it was easy to see why you do this for a living. Great choice to go for the telephoto lens: fantastically layered compo with the waterfall in the background, the boulder in the midground, and the person in the foreground! I also like the edit: straightforward and very effective. Especially the color edit of the person's jacket and backpack works great as a final touch.

I've often used a smaller camera like the XT20 or XT30 as a second body to my XT4, and in a location like this where there's so much water in the air, it's nice to not to change lenses, so having a lightweight second body is great.

Very good video. I enjoyed very much all the edition part, very well explained. One idea: maybe you can call people to send lanscape pics and do a video commenting it with ideas for editon or shoothing.

Thanks for the comment. Doing a video editing and critiquing other people's images is something i've considered. It'll probably happen one day

I been to a lot of the waterfalls on the west coast of US, and I think most of these you end up starting from the bottom looking up, very few have top down perspective. Most of the ones where you walk to the top, you usually end up next to it, so not exactly top down, but a side view. Those are pretty hard to shoot and I haven't really been able to frame side profile of waterfalls. Also off topic, what rock is that 17:16 looks amazing.

Shooting waterfalls from the top or side is really tricky. This one is easier because you're facing it from across the canyon, but generally I find it's better to shoot waterfalls from the bottom. It's just that I hadn't realised this one has relatively easy access to the bottom of the canyon. The rock at 17:16 is on the south coast of Iceland. It just stands there alone in the really wide stretch of beach.

Hi Andy, thanks for the new video! Really helpful as always. I have a question regarding landscape photography. how do you get crispy sharp image across the whole scene? i've used f11, f16,f18, a decently fast shutter speed 1/200 and using the XF10-24. Do you recommend focus stacking images for landscape images? Also taking a picture during daytime, introduced lots of haze in my images, i know the dehaze tool will help quite a lot. But do you have any advice how to deal with haze, whether to use a filter or have a tutorial for hazy images that are taken during daytime? Thanks, greatly appreciated

if you don't use focus stacking, could you please share the best settings for sharp landscape images or for focussing landscape in general? such as using manual or autofocus continuous/single. In manual would you focus to infinity?

Thanks for the comment, really glad the video was useful. First of all, I almost never focus stack images. At f7,1 and 10mm the 10-24mm has an effective focus that starts about 50cm infant of the camera and goes to infinity. I would highly recommend avoiding anything above f13, in fact, if you can stay below f11 it's best. Smaller apertures like f16 and f18 will create diffraction which causes softness in your images. Do you use a tripod? It's always best for sharp images. Haze is't something I worry about, I actually tend to add haze with the Dehaze slider more often then I remove it. In most of the images on this video I've actually increased the haze. The best tool to remove it though is a polarising filter. In terms of focus, I mostly use manual focus and focus peaking ensure it's focused properly. The problem with focusing to infinity is that often where it's marked on the lens it's actually not infinity and your images won't be in focus. Using focus peaking you can see the highlights around the high contrast areas that show you the image is in focus

I've been using single/continuous most of the time.. about the haze, i shot from elevation during the day time and the whole image was a ghost picture, very light gray i would say. Hi Andy. I've only just found the time to catch up on this episode so a bit late to the party, so to speak. Both parts of the video are really useful to me and I think the most informative and valuable section was where you talked about analysing the image and then ran through your initial editing process. The structure and the advice to deal with colour later in the process has got me thinking about how random my own processes are. A big lesson and thanks so much. Now the world is opening up a bit and you are planning to travel more I'm really looking forward to the upcoming content.
