Veterans had me on as much Morphine as I wanted for 12 years , then Wounded Warrior replaced my knees, I grew super silver Haze and being that I had almost No knee pain I quit the Morphine in a Month using just the Herb and my spiritual practices. No Morphine for over 12 years now.

My stepfather was adamantly against cannabis until he became dependent on prescribed opioid pain killers. Convinced him to try edibles with recommendations from an advisor and the results were amazing. His apatite came back, bowel functions restored and he was able to ween himself off of any meds within a month. Success story and a better quality of life for sure.

@@smurfitoo1585 he can call himself clean currently. It’s his life. Clean is a relative word. It’s too subjective. That’s why it matters not what others believe is clean. Some so called clean folks say that if you take ANY mind or mood altering chemicals, you’re using and in denial. Cough syrup is dirty according to some people in recovery. Some think that antidepressants are unclean. So give up the semantics feud and worry about yourself.

This might be a good place to post this . I’m 70 and tried mushrooms for the first time. I didn’t get psychedelic, just had a grand sense of well-being. Here’s the kicker. My chronic pain didn’t just lessen; it disappeared. My flexibility also improved- not tremendously but it was very noticeable to me. I am at a complete loss to explain this.

I use chaga , reishi , lionsmane etc. Went ginseng gathering today which involved the use of a 150' rope. I'm 63. I've had back issues for years. Chiropractor every 2-3 weeks for the last couple years. Skipped the last appointment because been doing pretty good. I can't say its because of using mushrooms that I,m doing better but they sure seem to be helping. The first time I went to that ginseng place about 7-8 years ago. It took me a half hour to get up that clift because I thought I'd have a heart attack. I didn't run up it today by any means but wasn't worried about kealing over. I know the foraging and hiking helped a lot too and I don't buy any of the shrooms I use. I go find them.

3 knee surgeries. 2 to repair the damage done from the first. The doctor didn't put one of the screws in far enough and ended up with permanent knee damage. Then I had compressed disks, bone spers, arthritis in my lower back. Surgery just so I would be able to walk. Been dealing with the knee since 1993. Chronic back pain since 2006. The first day my back gave out I couldn't even get out of the bed without my wife's help. Wow did that hurt getting into the car. But from day one I've been on Heavy Pain Meds. For the past 5 years I've been taking Morphine and Methadone. So I heard about mushrooms helping with withdrawals about 2 yrs ago. So I grew some. I'm not big on tripping but I did what they call micro dose. I ate a couple instead of taking the meds. I still had to take the meds but after a week of eating mushrooms I started taking less and less meds without going thru withdrawals. And during the past 17 years I've went thru withdrawals a few times. My meds didn't get ordered once and they were late for 8 days. OMG I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. I was sweating, freezing, rocking back and fourth, I couldn't see straight, couldn't eat drink and I was Praying to God for mercy. For me there is absolutely no Doubt that mushrooms can help me with withdrawals without getting hooked on them or any other kind of Medication. I keep some mushrooms handy just in case. I still have to take the pain meds because of the chronic pain but I know I will never go thru withdrawals again. Be Safe.

I have been a long term Buprenorphine/Naloxone patient for 5 years and cannabis has helped in ways I didn’t know were possible. As someone in recovery it was engrained in me that MAT is not being sober. I couldn’t disagree more, the fact that people are told this just creates shame and relapses. As long as your working your recovery in a way that works for you it doesn’t matter if you are using other medicines to help. I chose to get off traditional MAT and have been using cannabis for almost 1 1/2 years and got a medical card in Utah. I was not on MAT just because I’m an addict, I have legitimate medical conditions. If you’re watching this video and are considering this for pain management, it helps significantly in my overall health. As someone with a disability and chronic nerve pain cannabis has enabled me to live life again and not spending tons of money seeing doctors who push pharmaceuticals. Not one doctor in my life has ever recommended cannabis but they always push one prescription after the other. Just my two cents.

I have completely eliminated opioids from my back pain, alcohol too. Using medical cannabis led me to stop the opioids, just no longer wanted them. I also was drinking a lot of heavy dark beers (Russian Stouts, porters, etc...) and I gained a ton of weight. I have since lost over 100 lbs and 10 inches off my waist, no more codeine or Vicodin and my blood pressure is good again. No more prescription meds except the occasional allergy pill. The occasional Advil if I do work on the floors or something. I can still aggravate things, but I rebound much quicker and using a combination of smoakable flower, edibles and topical I have eliminated those terrible drugs.

I'm 76-years old and am just now recovering from a third spinal fusion; this time from T10-L4. The previous two OR visits never seemed to end my sciatic pain and after the second fusion, my discomfort and immobility became progressively worse. Even though I was receiving lumbar steroid injections and taking Gabapentin, the ONLY thing that seemed to provide lasting relief was my use of cannabis gummies. I'm unsure on the strain but I take a 1/3-portion of a 10-mg drop, that I assume equates to about 3.3-mg. Following the latest surgery on 8/16, the pain and stiffness has seriously effected my sleep cycle but if I ensure I take my typical dosage around 4:30 PM, I get both a great night's sleep and have noticed how much better I feel the following day. Yesterday, I made the mistake of missing the dose and I had a painful night of sleep. I won't make the mistake again. I must add I reside in a state that has legalized medical cannabis and possess the required state license.

I also smoke only Indica, with high cannabinoids (40% or higher) and now I’m quite comfortable with only taking 30 milligrams of hydrocodone. Cannabis products have been a god send to me. Six months ago I did this ( approved by my primary care physician , not VA doctors). 600 mg Alpha Lipoic Acid twice a day 200mg CoQ10 once a day. 1250mg …500 mg CBD. 500mg thc. 250mg CBGExtra anti-inflammatory drops under my tongue before bed. Now pain free without all those opioids. Oh it is so nice living in a state that has legalized pot and soon it will be legal to get mushrooms. Have had medical cannabis card for eight years now. There is a world wide opioid shortage right now and it is hard to get them here. This is from the opioid problem in the US. If you can afford it move to Philippines. There is a shortage right now but it will not last forever, I hope. I am glad I moved here in 2012 because I am sure I could not get pain meds in US and the industry I was in, and where I would ha e to return to afford to live, would not allow me to use medical cannabis. The people who own Perdue pharmacy got off easy for creating this epidemic and has left the ones who need the meds in a bad situation. Good luck my friend.

@@wildcamper739 mine were not episodic, they were everyday. Some days up till 7 per day. My first attack was July 19, 1975 my 20th birthday. My last one was Jan 5, 1998. Hang in there bud and good luck to you. My ‘cure’ was getting Verapamil 240 mg per day. Since episodic clusters generally do have a season I don’t know if it would work or you can tolerate that much heart medication. Guess I got lucky and had a heart. That was Jan 5, 1998.

Have you considered mushrooms? Like they're illegal but they are said to prevent or reduce the frequency of cluster headaches. Like a large "recreational" dose every few months is what most people do. There's an article on erowid about it and I think it's been intermittently covered elsewhere.

I recently had bilateral hip replacement and apart from a morphine block for the actual procedure, I had no opioids due to previous allergic reactions. My secret, cannabis oil. I was already a cannabis patient for chronic pain and depression. I got through the whole post operative process with Panadol, ice packs and cannabis oil, and it was very tolerable.....enough said. :)

Paulshearer; a bilateral hip replacement?! Oh my. I had my right one replaced about a year ago. I’ve been thru some painful conditions and surgeries, but nothing prepared me for the pain that is hip arthroplasty. It’s a brutal procedure. They use carpenter tools for the operation fgs! Hammers, saws, and drills, oh my. Good thing that you had cannabis since you cannot tolerate opioids. I bought myself a whole mess of cannabis pills. And I was prescribed 50 oxycodone per week for a solid month. That’s how long that I needed them. I don’t dig opioids like I use to. I wanted to get off of them. They really mess with the whole digestive system. I’m at an age where I need to consciously eat enough fiber everyday. Gotta keep that canal moving. The augmentation of weed with opioids made it somewhat tolerable. It takes 6 months to a year for complete healing. I kept saying, ‘Never again’ to the excruciating pain. As if I was hungover. I’m never doing that again! Now my left hip is in the midst of saying goodbye to me too. Aaah!

Utah really sucks not allowing us patients to cultivate. I don’t have the finances to have enough cannabis to make it for 2 weeks out of each month. There is definitely a greed factor set by the mere handful of State official growers that could afford to secure a golden ticket to grow. The market is gouging the patients who can’t afford natural medication.

Ten years ago, I got sick and was in a coma for two months. For pain, I was given Morphine, Fentanyl, and Dilaudid in tandem. I got out of the hospital and they gave me Hydrocodone. All that said, I had to get on Methadone to get off the pain medication. I was on Methadone for ten years when they legalized medical marijuana. I was scared because Methadone withdrawals are beyond horrible. Possibly even fatal. I had a lot of nerve damage from the earlier hospital visit. This allowed me to get a Cannabis Card. Full disclosure, I did taper Methadone as it is not safe to go cold turkey off of a handful of Methadone wafers a day. It was still difficult. I'm still sick but Cannabis coupled with other OTC meds ,has been tolerable. If you made it this far, thank you. It really is a longer story. This is the condensed version

I can attest to the fact that it was only by listening to the guidance of a Medical Practitioner that believed in the use of Medical Cannabis, that I was ever able to come of all my opioids without any withdrawals and as other have said, within 6 months. I hadn’t even realized I was cutting down over that period. Then after 6 months, I was no longer taking 8 Oxynorm, 8 Codeine Forte amongst others and having to apply Deep Heat 4 times a day. I also found as stated in this video, that the Medicinal Cannabis worked by building up a level to where I no longer felt pain, even though I knew it was there. But also I had ran out at one time for about 1 week after being on it for a year or so. I was in agony after about the 3rd day but worse was that it took approx a day or so to get the THC etc back to a stable level. Also a big side affect was having a decent night sleep and waking up not tired and clear headed. Thankgod I’m no longer taking opioids and I can think a bit clearly. Even though I’m getting forgetful lol. Thanks for the great video and confirmation of what I thought I had experienced was actually real.

Everyone who uses cannabis regularly needs to take a higher dose over time, and especially if they use the same strain over a long period of time. In my experience it's best to switch strains regularly and if you want to grow your own medicine you should definitely grow several strains. Cannabis and kratom keep me off opiates, and getting to this point took a long time. I no longer miss opiates and definitely don't want to go back to that life.
