THE RAZOR CLAM HOLE IS USUALLY LARGER AND FLATTER. BUT IT CAN BE DIFFICULT TO DIFFERENTIATE THE TWO. GOOD LUCK!👍

OK…DID A LITTLE RESEARCH, “CLAMBAKE” PEAKED AT 40 ON THE BILLBOARD 200. AND ELVIS CONSIDERED IT HIS WORST MOVIE, AND RETURNED TO HIS MUSICAL CAREER AFTER THIS. I COULDN’T FIND A SPECIFIC REFERENCE TO THE TYPE OF CLAM THEY WERE BAKING AT THEIR “CLAMBAKE”. ANYONE ELSE??

OK…MORE RESEARCH…”CLAMBAKE”WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SET IN FLORIDA, WHICH HAS THE NORTHERN AND SOUTHERN QUAHOGS AS THEIR NATIVE BIVALVES. SO, IF THEY WERE BAKING NATIVE CLAMS AT THEIR CLAMBAKE, THEY PROBABLY WEREN’T RAZOR CLAMS, WHICH ARE NATIVE TO THE WEST COAST. GOOD LUCK!👍

My old man would use a trench shovel and dig 3 limits in 3 hours on a slow day. This guy's using the easy way . Real men tap the surface to see the holes then dig like a mad man

Watch the newspaper for the low tides. Sometimes it's 5 or 6 a.m. other times it's at night.

We give most of our clams away. I make chowders, soups, ceviche, and clam fritters out of them. When caught fresh, they taste sweet.

@@journeywithchongoooh now I definitely want to try one. Quick question I saw on another post that makes sense. Using the digger, is salt to harvest them illegal? It seems torturous for the clams left behind but the ones harvest won't be alive much longer anyway. Thanks! BTW this could totally make a great asmr video.
