Great reaction! I’m really glad they did the verses the way they did. NF with his current state and almost an inspirational speech to everyone who’s lost. Then Hopsin comes in with his own experiences and more introspection. My favorite line in the entire song is Hopsin’s “I am praying to Lord with the book of James Hopin’ he gon’ add my testament” mainly because 1. Wow. And 2. The instrumental in the background sounding like someone running their hand down the piano. Absolute 🔥 the fact the Hopsin didn’t curse, and ask knows enough about NF’s music to reference the cage, clouds, and demons knocking but not letting them in (mansion reference) is honestly so cool

Well, it all goes back to Intro III.. you cant just bury fear. Nate is very aware Fear is part of him and will pop up during worst of the times.. further emphasised in the search and prob tons others. He can humanize his demons all he wants as a cope... but in the end, IT IS ultimately always Nate...

I think Nates gonna find tech in that field because he left it totally open to be continued

Theres a pschology term called learned helplessness. Basically, its when your pain becomes so part of your identity that you learn to just “give up”;or in Nates case, Accept it and find the super powers his OCD gives him with his writing. Which theoretically seems to be a solid matchup for a writer. He began as a fellow broken MC.. and weve watched and supporter him into a husband, father, and finally, a shadow of a role model forming to help break down mentalhealth stigma with acceptance and positivity. He’s a hero in my mind bc im pretty sure his highs and lows destroy him during production of anything. He refuses meds, which i personally condone bc i believe most mental health issues can make us stronger and more empathetic people this world needs.. and the meds he WOULD be on would destroy the “nate” we love.. hed lose himself even more.. i am so proud of everything hes not only managed to overcome, but alsp for keeping his foot on the pedal for his core fan base. ❤️

I’ve always liked Hop but man, mad respect to him for keeping it clean on the track for Nate. This was the collab I always wanted but never knew I needed! In love with this track, these two feed off of each other so well! ☁️🎈

It's funny (not!) that so many of us are going through "check-out" times recently. Has been a common theme, especially with some of my favorite NF reactors the past couple days. I get it, completely "war weary" from the past several years. Checking out & getting grounded is in order. I hope you come out of this madness whole again! Personally, I'm finding quite a bit of joy in seeing Nate grow again, move toward letting go a bit, new baby boy on the way. SO thankful to be following his journey & yours! Peace, Friend.

It’s definitely a continuation of his journey from The Search album. NF has been sitting on this song since the end of 2019. I don’t know when he would have released it after “Paid My Dues,” but I’m sure it was going to be some sort of lead-in to a new album for 2020. Then COVID hit and blew everything up. That’s why he’s releasing this mixtape. He said some of the mixtape songs were supposed to be on the new album, but he wanted to give the fans something until he can do a “proper” album release, which includes a tour. He did hold back a lot of songs for the next album, though.

Also, the last scene of all the buried Lost Outcasts i think could serve as a reflection of the important work Nate and Hopsin just opened the mentalhealth Pandoras Box to show everyone. So many lost souls... and these two guys just did something so important in this collaboration that could bring in a solid group of similar MCs and SHOW vulnerability can be a strength. This collab shouldve made history in some way bc ive never seen anything like this beforen in my life.. esp when both their fan bases are basically united, strong in numbers, and more than likely all are fans due to relatability to some struggle Nate or Hops have. But the Hip Hop game refuses to even acknowledge NF.. and Hopsin barely, prob bc hes black. Its a sad thought of potential lost if it ends. 😔

Love seeing NF in that old Carhart coat. Its definitely how a Michigan boy would dress. Those coats are as stiff as cardboard for about the first year or two of daily use. Id say the one hes wearing is about 5 years old.

I can't imagine that NF would go the heavy and sad route with a colab. I don't think he would want to be depressed around "an outsider" if that makes sense? I mean he's always been confident about his rap skills, almost competitive and I think that on a colab he would like to show off a little bit. Or maybe that's just me. And I'm gonna eat my words if he makes me cry with Tech N9ne :D Anyway I'm glad they tried to match each other because it makes the song more cohesive. I've heard songs where one's talking about A and the other one about a totally unrelated B and it's not nice. That being said with NF talking more in general and so more relatable to more people I liked his part more. But in terms of delivery and just how pleasing it was to my ears I liked Hopsin's part more. He sounded more energetic, aggressive in a positive way. And I loved the... echo-ish words over Hopsin's verse - the "hold up", "I'm stuck" etc which NF didn't have. I hope you're doing well, Pav. Like you, I took (am taking?) a long break from commenting and reactions on YT in general. When you don't feel like doing something then do something else and it will come back eventually :)

I’m gonna have to re listen again and pay attention to it more. You perk your ears up so much with nf to the point you almost damage your ability to catch somethjng cos you’re paying that extra bit of attention to not miss something 😂 Yeah I think I would agree with your outlook on the verses, to strip back the song and appreciate both artists struggle then look at their desire to overcome their demons in a more positive light was incredible. I’m still taken back by how powerful the song is. I really hope they collaborate more because these two guy mesh incredibly well together. Imagine them on like a back and forth track where they’re going bar for bar 😳😳 that would be fire. Hope you’re doing good Dasha 🙏

Interesting info, I just found out from the interview video today... they have been sitting on this for a year! They actually talked at the end of 2019 and were shooting video just a few weeks later. I can't believe they could sit on it that long, crazy!!
