It shows the growth in Ronnie in every aspect. The difference 10 years and some fucked up life experiences can make. His voice is so hauntingly phenomenal. Can't wait for you to do the drug in me reimagined one of my all time favorite songs.

A lot of stuff back in 2000-2010 was pop punk and punk including green day, which is what early falling in reverse was so that's why it has green day vibes

Ronnie seems to be giving us one version of the song where he's too in the drug haze to see the negative meaning behind the lyrics, paired with the high energy music makes this even harder to see. And then 10 years later he's been sober for a while, and gave us a much more mature version, like he's had time to sit back and assess the subject without the haze, which is seen with the much slower, broken down accompaniments, it's emotionally looking back and seeing what seemed like a good time was a problem. Ronnie has a tendency to turn his experience into art, and we all benefit from it.

Regarding the "greenday" reference, I'd say thats fair. The first version was considered part of the "scene" genre (think fallout boy, panic at the disco, etc) these all had influences from pop, punk and in this case some flashy metal hair stuff like poison. In my opinion, Ronnie was very much like David Lee Roth in his persona. Anyways, most of the scene bands took that vocal style from the punk bands where they almost sounded cockney. Its hard to explain what I mean, but I get why you said it

Suggestion? Do the Live version...Moscow 1991. Hard to comprehend the crowd.....if you like it, get your big boy pants on and do Master of Puppets next. Lol

It is similar. This is amazing but in my humble opinion, The Drug In Me Is Reimagined is even better----it is just a completely perfect song from beginning to end.

Yeah that's the point. Basically the version of her walking around in white is her after being turned into a vampire waking up and remembering what led up to that to then see him being taken away because he can't live with what he's done only for her to be caught in the sun as well.

The original isn't something I would normally listen to but it had this fun vibe and the video was hilarious. An ok song. I'm not a fan of the revamped version, though. It's too melodramatic and I feel like not all of the lyrics fit to this kind of medieval setting. When I saw it yesterday I had to struggle through because I was really interested in the story and wanted to know how it ended. Props for that. It's like a mini musical. Not my cup of tea but I can see that it's powerful and artistic and I bet most people love it. BUT. I had similar thoughts when I first listened to The drug in me is you duo. And now the reimagined version is on my playlist and I describe the song as BEAUTIFUL. Apparently I can't trust my initial thoughts :D

The symbolism of the revamped version made it more meaningful to me especially when it's dedicated to their ex guitarist Derek Jones and his fiancée who both died last year; just like the 2 vampire lovers who also both died in the music video.

Nobody's going to hate you for comparing Green Day to FiR, my bro. One is a Punk/pop/rock bad. One (started) as a mallcore/hardcore/crabcore (emo) band. Emo is just a progression of Punk (and metal) So, anybody in the know can't get mad at that comparison. Sure, it's not entirely accurate BUT it is way accurate enough for someone to at least get a "feel" for some of FiRs older music.

How is that ruining FIR? By that logic they are ruining their own song by re doing the same song no? It’s how one version gives you one vision and then by simply changing the delivery and whole concept of the song alters your interpretation of those same lyrics.
