Since he doesn't mention it in the video, I figure I'll let yall know to save you a few moments of frustration: when you are removing your factory radio and you have those two hoop pins inserted into the face, you have to spread them AWAY from the radio to move the brackets on the sides of the radio. So, the left hoop you must pry to the left and the right one you must pry to the right.

The "antenna " wire is to trigger a POWER ANTENNA so that it extends when you switch to AM/FM. The "remote" wire is used to turn on an external AMP like an aftermarket subwoofer.

Thank you for saying that. The whole video was really good at first, explaining everything in a productive way, then went completely down hill when he got to the part about the antenna. It was also very funny that he thought the antenna wire could start a fire or something if it touched the radio metal, when there is no power coming from an antenna. In fact, many radio unit designers count on the antenna shield to act as a nice solid ground. There is no reason not to plug in the antenna, but plenty of good reasons not to forget plugging it in.

Robert Villiard YES of course that would have been easier. he just did a halfa** install using a cheap janky Dual headunit. Didn't unhook his battery under the hood as should be done when doing any electrical work on a vehicle. Didn't wire the antenna which made zero sense. Even if you aren't going to listen to the radio atleast wire it up the proper way. The person he sells that Crown Vic to might want to listen to the radio. Then again that piece of junk Dual Headunit will not last anyway, its probably already broken.
