Finally a Good Finish - Kayak Bass Fishing Pro/Trail Tournament - Laurel River Lake, KY

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Here's a side of me you haven't seen. I changed the way I practice and fished for this tournament and it payed off. This is Day 1 of the Pro Series Tourney and a one day KBF Trail Series Tourney. I grabbed my fluke and a shakeyhead and made it happen.

Great video! Pet peeve for fans of Flukemaster. I wish there was a tournament series for "Real" kayak fishing... which means carrying your boat and all your gear 100 yards through the woods to the water's edge. In addition to my kayak I also frequently fish from my Crestliner 22ft sportfish equipped with a 200hp Verado. I love doing both but they are worlds apart when it comes to the experience.

That whole getting out your kayak rule sounds dumb. If it's a kayak fishing tournament why is there a rule for you to catch a fish out of the kayak just to get back in it and take a photo? Theoretically someone could win the tournament just bank fishing.

I prefer not to utilize it, but in a tournament last fall, my pedal drive broke in some very windy and treacherous conditions. I was able to beach my kayak off a wind blown point and catch 3 more fish from the bank to fill out a limit for a top ten finish. I think if you blatantly bank fish the entire day it would be legal but you’d get bashed. In this case and mine, Gene took advantage of a situational opportunity and capitalized.
