The 84 does have cameo but after the early 70’s, that stops being something that adds big value to a proof as the mint got a lot better at consistently producing proofs that were cameo’d.

Hey dude i had a question. I picked up a box of half dollars yesterday from my bank. I went through them and didn't find any silver but i did find one i thought was silver but ended up being gold on the front and back with the dates 1960 and 1980 punched into the coin above the words In God we Trust. Have you came across one of these before and know what they might be worth? I couldn't find much online for it.

I got one of those the other day, it's a self punched coin. It commemorates the 20th anniversary of John F. Kennedy's election to President. I really like the one I found, the one I found has 1960 and 1985 as the counter stamps. You sure yours is a 1980?

@@TheTejasfilm the one I found was a 1971 . It’s definitely worn a little it must have seen some brief circulation but definitely a cool random find. Weird that that would end up in a box I feel like that coin is more obvious than silver or key dates

Just realized I didn’t answer your other question but yes mine definitely says 1960 1980 which makes sense for a 20 year anniversary since those dates are 20 years apart. They just have done one for 25 years as well If those are your dates! @thetejasfilm
