There's a glimpse of exploration with Chocobo and Clive party with Jill, a dog, and one unknown guy. But man it looks great and the same month with SF VI? Dang.

I think Joshua dies at the beggining of the game, but he revives later due to being the Phoenix's Dominant.

They do show that shot of them riding chocobos through that large area. They’ve said the game won’t be a seamless open world but will be made up of various regions/maps of varying sizes so there’s hopefully going to be at least a couple of really big areas to explore.

Ok fantastic, this actually looks to be a good game compared to the other trailers they showed for FF16. it no longer looks like a devil may cry clone. Now....are we gonna have fishing like FF15?? please???

Day one baby! Never played FFXV, but will be playing this the first second it's available.

dont worry about it. every FF have diferent world and different playgame , they not have connection except if have same number like FF XIII, FFXIII-2,FF XIII lighting....

I mean, it's an action jrpg, there are tons of jrpg's like this (Kingdom Hearts, Nier, Scarlet Nexus, or Even FFXV just to name a few).

Eh, still not convinced. Story looks interesting but the gameplay looks... generic. Like DMC lite.

@Andrew Pyle still looks generic. Flashy but it gives a feel like I'm just gonna be spamming one button for the combos. Like in Kingdom Hearts 2. Guess we'll see.

@@EX7Sonic I just don't think generic is the right word. Turn based games can be just as generic if they aren't done right. Plenty of final fantasy games can be beaten by just pressing attack and healing sometimes. They got somebody from capcom who worked on DMC on this. And if it's even remotely like that, this game will be way more complex than your average turn based or ATB FF game.

​@@EX7Sonic If you seriously think Kingdom Hearts 2's combat was "generic" and all about mashing one button, then you should really give that game another chance. KH2 has one of the most fun, engaging and rewarding combat systems in action jrpgs (or even action games in general) if you take the time to actually learn it and experiment with it (preferably on the Critical difficulty). The enemy and boss design is great too, with just a few exceptions.

@@emptilion You're right. Generic isn't the right term. I think my issue is that it kind of looks too similar to other actions games. If one were to look at it without context, it'd be hard to tell that it's an FF game. I'm not saying it NEEDS to be turn based but I also feel like it doesn't immediately make me think that it's an FF title until you see the summons or chocobos. I dunno. Maybe I'm just jaded cause I hated 13 a lot and was just bored with 15.

@@hcsnake As one other comment pointed out, my use of the term generic wasn't accurate so I'll take that back. I've actually 100% KH2 back in the day. I like a lot about the game but I felt the combat was too... simplified? Like once you get to the longer combo chains, it just felt like Sora was off doing his own thing. I actually kinda preferred KH1's combat just because it didn't feel as automated and timing each hit mattered a lot. Maybe unpopular opinion but like fighting Sephiroth in KH1 felt more difficult than in KH2 but also more rewarding.
