For those trying to put the lore together. The idea is that there are 2 worlds, one is the "game" world where Lyon and everyone stupid lives, and the other is the "lore" world, where Shadowcleaver (black shirt lyon) and Cinder are from. The lore world they speak eorzean and hingan as those are the lore languages. So the "lore" world is very serious, much like how the story of FF14 is, but then the "game" world is very stupid much like how all irl humans interact with the game. The earings are how Shadowcleaver and Cinder got transported to the "game" world, I believe by that weird looking short monster with the deep voice who might be god. When Cinder references Shadowstalker's forbiden magic, its in reference to the red eyed cat girl that no one else can see. The worlds are reflections of each other, much like how there are reflections in the game with the first and the source. These reflections have the same looking characters that are reflections of each other, Lyon is stupid Shadowcleaver is mostly serious and cool. They look they same but have opposite personalities. Youve nailed most of it ngl. The lore in this shit is sick. Couple of cool notes The Troll is a reaccuring character that just likes to break shit but also keep balance, he causes mischief and fixes things in mayhem. With Cinder and Hayate's Reflection fighting in Gridania, it had to intervene, due to the fact that one of them would of likely killed the other, and to keep balance, there must be the players character, and a proper reflection to match in the "Lore" world. Hayate is busted as fuck, but literally only cares about his parses. He's depressed all episode until he gets unbanned, and then gets his powers back and pops off on Cinder. Homie is just the most busted person in the entire series. Nihilyon got transported from "Lore" world to "Player" world through some fucky shit that happened in the Garlean Battle Royale episode. One of the Linkpearls that Lyon used, was dropped and when Hayate summoned a fuck all meteor to wipe out everyone (Through the power of anime or some shit), it somehow glitched the linkpearl through. Nihilyon happened to find it, im guessing the borderline mini-cataclysm weakened the border between the two "Reflections" and forced the linkpearl through, and then Nihilyon being in posession with it and next to the aetheryte in Gridania, was dragged into "Game" world. Theres tons of other lil cool lore tidbits or running jokes through all of the episodes. The lore is fucking GOOD. The jokes are LAYERED as HELL, and you will catch some shit you never noticed before if yo uwatch it multiple times. Also the dudes editing is just beyond cracked and insane, this episode took 5 months but is by far the best animated, the best written and he seems to only be improving.

Hence all the Mass Effect VA, Sound effects, Background music and ability to overcome barriers between worlds and even the void-sent/succubus spell. There seems to also be a third reflection used for Chinese server :) Search for "I am beyond your comprehension. I am Sovereign!"

What started as jokes and sketches now includes Xeno, Arthas, Asmongold, Final Fantasy 14/16 voice actors. Turning his channel into a concept of continuous lifestream (core idea of all final fantasy games) and there are also phones, tvs and streams to introduce short sketches that characters enjoy. There is a blue pearl version that represents source (players) and you can also see a red pearl that comes from a ARR-styled version of the game. These characters are not aware it is a game. Now two characters and 1 void-sent are transported from one to another while still wearing a red pearl. I believe this is a Matrix reference with red pearl = red pill and those characters are roll-playing. These 3 views (Gamers, RP, Short-form content) all in one timeline giving us opportunity to laugh about the community that surrounds Final Fantasy 14. Red shirt (Lyon) is wearing a blue pearl and represents gamer stereotypes. Hayate is honor-bound to him as a brother and represents weeb stereotypes. Black/Emo (Nihil[yon]) is wearing red pearl and it is the Lyon character from base game ARR linking to a voidsent and becoming dark knight. Blue-eyed bunny boy was a cat girl obsessed with Lyon and changed in an episode making fun of Fantasia and the new starter guide for FF14. Red-eyed catgirl into Nihil is the voidsent linked to him. New character is a hound from the red world seeking Nihil for what has happened with the voidsent. That would be my tl;dr and should be enough to sit and enjoy the videos out of order.

The ending: Hayate was protected by Lyon back in the day, as we can see in the flashback, and now it's Hayate's job to protect Lyon. Classic trope. This usually involves some sort of sacrifice. However, in a reversal of expectations, Hayate is closer to One Punch Man -- in other words, he's practically a God. But that works because the "fight" is basically a throwaway joke. The weeb pieces of the story he's telling are fun, but they aren't the main feature.

I spended my whole afternoon/evening watching all Sufferhymn videos to understand this universe. best day ever

Context: Kingsglave is an FC of higher OP assassins or whatever. Nile(?) is a former member, possessing of a Voidsent (that red eyed girl) and friends with Hayate of that server. Leon and them are actually considered in "The Empty" aka the Oceanic server where everything is just dummer xD And Leon and Hayate of that Oceanic server are basically mirrors of the others. Nile got sucked into that server (that beach episode where he shows up mute like the typical mute WoL protagonist) and the Hellhound girl is a member of that guild that's hunting him down. But now that she's there, she just sounds like a barking dog and that's the meme xD Tl;DR: Lyon's world is the "Game" world version of everything, everyone is stupid and it's just hilarious. Shadowcleaver and Cinder are from the Lore-side of the "Game" and mirror their Oceanic counterparts. So, Serious meets Not-Taking-Itself-Seriously-At-All But basically to understand the lore of these videos, you have to have watched them all, or binged them in one sitting to actually understand wtf is happening half the time xD

But here on this latest video I'm starting to get into the lore of it all. Oh and it helped that Xenos is asking the same questions I am while watching it. Like the name of the Miqo'te etc...

I'm always really grateful and enjoy it so much when you do. 🤩I was there a few minutes after it started and seeing your reactions to the filth coming out of Sophia's mouth was gold 🤣I totally get not understanding what was going on, as Ringo said in another comment, this is like jumping into season 4 of Game of Thrones as your first episode. 🤣 But to put it as simply and as shortly as I can, for others as well, Lyon (Iconic Red Shirt, Black Haired Viera) and Hayate (White Hair, Weaboo Viera) are brothers and live on an Oceanic server where they are aware they live in a video game. Whereas Nihilyon (Black Shirt, Deep Voice Viera) and Cinder (Black Hair, Orange Eyed Miqo'te) are from a European server and are Vanilla NPC's that don't know they are in a video game that have been transferred to Lyon and Hayate's world. Cinder is hunting down Nihilyon who got transferred in an earlier episode. And when she arrives on the Oceanic server, she gets the two mixed up because the servers have copies (reflections) of the same character. Nihilyon in his world was an edgelord with a cool backstory and used to be in Cinder's Free Company called Hellglaive, and Lyon in his own world is an alcoholic gamer. There's more but I won't write an essay 🤣 But I'm also really glad you liked the more serious parts because it was your reaction to the Silver Samurai segment in the last video that finally made me decide to go all in with the action and the so-cringe-it-becomes-cool bits. 😎

There is something just tasteful in shit post humor. Having over-the-top animation, dialogue and effects is always so cringy but also so satisfying to see that it renders the whole scene into a giant "God this is so bad I can't watch but I also can't take my eyes off of it". All in all, I appreciate how no character gets taken too seriously but the actual "fighting scenes" or at least action were very fun. Keep up the amazing work :nodd:
