MXXNBBY Riku’s Mighty G + Tidus Cheer and Mental Break + Lulu’s magic + Wakka’s dark attack saved me in this hehe. At least that’s what i did in this fight recently. I gotta admit that I needed Yuna haha.

Oh and stamina tablet for more hp because it helped defend my party from the poison. Albhed potion is quite handy for this fight as well.

the staging and music in this game are so badass. Picking and watching ANY chapter of the game out of context is a joy. I remember the Evrae fight like it was yesterday!

First time through, it was a total pain in the ass. Especially the idea of poison breath either one shotting the entire party and was too slow on the turn table for cid to move out of the way of the poison breath, or you barely had any hp left on one party member and then it gets a turn to hit you.

@@OniMalcosame especially watching my brother play back in the day; but when I got the game I grind my characters so they were strong enough.. but I guess you gotta strategise more if your characters are weaker…

Keep Tidus and Wakka in the battlefield for the whole time. Every time you move back, swap your third character between Auron and (if she has any white magic) Lulu. Just before Evrae's third turn of four (3/4), pull back and swap Auron for Lulu. After Evrae uses Poison Breath, go back in and swap Lulu for Auron. Tidus use Slow on Evrae and Hastega on party, then spam cheer and attack for the rest of the game. Every time Evrae uses Haste, use Slow (it is vital you keep Tidus in the field so you can get more turns than Evrae.) Auron all breaks except Armor Break (Evrae is immune), then spam normal attacks. Lulu continuously healing and/or using magic. Magic should work easier due to Auron's Mental Break (if you have it) at the start. Wakka use Dark Attack and Drain. Spam long range attacks. NOTES: Full armoury should be non-elemental. For Wakka, Auron and Tidus, use non-elemental weapons that grant extra strength. Everybody should have Warrior Overdrive if available.

I literally died after the cutscene after this boss... it made me fight this mf all over again

EASY METHOD ON KILLING THIS BOSS: STEP 1, start off with casting haste or hastega on your party of Tidus, Wakka, and Auron, attack with Auron and Wakka on there first turns. STEP 2, Use Tidus's next turn to move the ship away, keep on attacking Evrae with Auron and Wakka till the ship moves away, and then keep getting Wakka to attack it on each of his turns. STEP 3, Get Tidus to use cheer about five times and before moving closer to it, then once you move close to Evrae, and then unleash everything you've got. NOTES: when Evrae uses its long range attack, either use Auron to use a Mega potion or swap him out with Rikku to use her al bhed potions, her potions can cure petrification and poison encase Evrae inflicts your characters with one of them.

Is Waka the voice of bender?

I found much better tactics with less levelled characters than these in video: Come into battle with all characters with overdrive. 1) Hit "cheer" and "hastega" and after Hit all character overdrives right on 2) pull ship back 3) hit in game Auron, Rikku and Tidus and sometimes exchange for Lulu and Wakka (keep Auron always in cause he can withstand most of dmg) 4) If some character got petrified or poisoned, cure him right away. 5) Wait ship to hit one barrage, in between keep attacking with Lulu and Wakka 6) When boss has under 10k hit 100.000 gil with Rikku and that should be it.

Wakka's reaction to rin still charging for stuff b4 the battle still cracks me up

He uses haste on himself and gets like 6 turns and then proceeds to poison breath and attack and kill everyone in those turns, over powered, tried to use slow on him so id have a chance to move out of the way but it misses every time

***** heyyyy, its been over a year since ive done this. but basically, before he attacks you move away. you will know which turn the attack comes as you can see the order on the right hand side. i recall if he uses that move he has to wait another turn before the slash comes but not sure

You can have someone use despell on him to get rid of haste.

He will just recast the haste spell if you slow him down. Just cast haste on yourself, then you can win.

If Poison Breath is whiping you out you can always just stay at a distance and have Rikku spam AlBhed potions to deal with the damage from his ranged attack.

This is where I realized how hard this game was gonna be until I got Yuna back (which thankfully wasn't too long after).

Thanks to Rikku's Al Bhed potions I managed to beat this boss. I also buffed my party with haste and cheer, and used SwordPlay afterwards.

Dude you are so overpowered here! When I played the first time at this point my strongest spell was nulblaze 😂😂😂😂

Auron's strength, salvo missiles, and kimahri's self destruct overdrive...that should do it! Haha

Mine was this Tidus- Hastega on all then strike out Rikku- Healer and Trigger for Cid Auron- Bruiser. Had him strike Evrae with Overdrives and power break. Then when i got far from Poison breath. I switched Tidus for Wakka and Rikku for Lulu till Evrae started to haste himself. When that happened i swapped Auron for Kimarhi, then switched Rikku and Tidus back in, Delay buster with Tidus then Rikku for magic. I kept her as a mage class and had her heal up with the Al Bhed Pots.

I always get it down to the last 7000 hp and then the bloody thing just won’t stop attacking until everyone is dead!!! It’s driving me mad!! XD

That moment you realize that wakka and bender have the same voice actor and it took you a while to figure it out :/

What Sphere Grid did you choose? The original or the new one?

When i first played, i got stuck on this boss. My mom had to do it

The first time I played this part I was a nervous wreck. Rin made a lot of money off me that day. The second time, I wasn’t as nervous, though still tense. The third time I was more confident, though I stayed cautious. But the fourth... *PREPARE TO CHOKE, EVRAE!!*

I beat the boss with spare change ability, 3,000 damage and I had to beat it on my second try. I did not have the same stats as this guy, I was weaker.

holy merciful crap! I'm no where ready to take on this guy my characters are really low on level and I have to fight him next when I get back to my game

The game doesn't really give you any warning that you're gonna be separated from Yuna until it happens, and well, not only is Yuna the designated healer, but also an early game powerhouse with her aeons. Although it also doesn't help if you don't have an understanding of how important it is to have every character participate in fights so they don't fall behind on the grid.

Holy shit, I still have flashbacks to this fucking boss

You must have done some serious grinding to do the amount of damage you did. 7500 with one hit? I'm lucky if I get above 1500. This video didn't help me because I need to know how to survive it's poison attack. The thing didn't even get a chance to use it in your game.

Definitely not OP, but a firm test especially for players that relied on Aeon overdrive spamming up until this point. The fact Evrae can be slowed, and put into Darkness, make it much more manageable. Also, his super deadly Poison Breath has a warning/windup if you're in close so you can have Cid move the airship away. You can also just stay at a distance and have Wakka, Lulu and Cids missiles chip away while Rikku heals with Al Bhed potions. A challenging fight but not OP. Seymour Flux? Yeah fuck that guy, the only storyline boss that had me truly stumped for awhile.

What is the weapon that Tidus used in this video?

This battle when I first played made me sad. I just couldn't beat him. I restarted the game and used the advanced grid instead... for some reason my characters were more over powered.

Your Auron is so strong here. Mine has 4k hp too at this point but can only hit around 3Ks on this thing.

IS there some secret to getting Blk magic spheres? been fighting this guy for hours and only ever get ability spheres. Don't know if it matters but I never pull away I just keep up close and wail on him with auron and wakka and use rikku to heal with al bhed potions

Digital Adventurer seems like one of your characters may have a “distill ability” weapon meaning that when you attack physically, it’ll make the enemy drop ability spheres. Check your equipment and if so, remove it. Use it only if you need to farm for those spheres. Especially on bosses, best not to have them since they’ll tend to drop much better/rarer items.

How is auron hitting for 239862916 damage and wakka and tidus not nearly as much? And did they nerf this guy in the remaster cause he did't counter attack a single time when he usually counter attacks physical attacks about 50% of the time.

Okay you are so much stronger then me when i go here... auron hitting for 7000... im hitting for 200-600 lolz i need to lvl more

Between using Hastega, delay attack, slow, and dark buster you can easily beat this boss without him ever getting a hit on anyone in your party.

Pretty sure he's talking about his airship

I swear, i forgot how tough this guy is. I can get him down to where he uses haste by having Tidus, Lulu and Kimahri out and spamming Drain and Lancet, so that they not only heal themselves but also damage Evrae at the same time. However once Evrae forces me into melee range, i find it quite difficult as i dont have Haste or anything like that. It would take a lot of grinding to be able to get Haste, as well, seeing as how nobody is close enough to Haste.

because the wyrm totally has to first hand kill each character instead of just, you know, knocking the ship off course, make it crash land and then kill the survivors.

Just start the fight have tidus cast haste on arron. Use power brake then pull away cast haste on tidus lulu her do her magic cheer 5 time if you need to switch to rikku for Al bed healing ect. The Cheering 5 times is important cause it make you tanky

Back to Experience Grinding!

Really this boss was hard but it was not OP, if Pokémon is the RPG you mostly played then yeah i get yah, but otherwise the difficulty is perfectly fine to feel fulfilled after winning the battle. It's waay more important too use stat moves here.

Wakka sounds like bender

I loathed evrae, to the point where I grinded rikku so hard she ended up learning dispel, curaga, holy and reflect. Before even getting on board the airship. Evrae stood no chance at all. And then came the wedding scene. I had fun one shooting all those warrior monks and their machina. And it's funny, they deviated from the teachings of yevon and they couldn't go toe to toe with the guardians of a girl with heterochromia, led by a sports pro.

First playthrough, I was way too reliant on Yuna's summons and got punished for it by this guy. Seriously, I both love and hate this boss. Love his design, hate the punishment he doled out on my 14-year-old ass.

Well now I know i’m under leveled

Can't believe i just threw 100,000 of gil away just to finally kill that stupid thing.... and sold all my useful extra gear and am just left with TWO gil...

....im so under levelled....i can't beat this thing. I only have slow and haste.....i. Think i have to restart and level them up properly. 😭😭😭 as my characters are i can't beat him.

If want couple tips you need make few save files on different places to able return and power up but i think you can beat him with just this coz i did it on worse xd

if you have al bhed potions and a guy with the use ability, your party will be invincible as long as you keep your guys above 1000 hp

After the gang fled Bikanel and blew up the Al Bhed's home, they tracked down Yuna and managed to find her trapped in Bevelle. This dragon-worm who guards the town from the sky must be fought so then the party can reach Yuna.

lol wakka was so right. we about to fight this tough as hell monster, specifically created to stop anyone or anything from entering the city, and you still making us pay for your crap even though you know our loss is your death? bs.

you need to adjust the content

Best way of doing this fight Quickly? Level Auron to the end of his grid so he's doing 6000-9000 a hit. Quick as hell.

It's a hard boss first time u face it I have lulu lvl 3spells and wakka so it's easy

Lol you are so over leveled for this fight. For someone on a first playthrough that hasnt excessively level grinded this is a tough fight.

Am wondering what the people here are telling about this boss being hard? Wtf. You just have to farm properly and thus train your people, if your group is strong enough, this fight is as easy as taking a shit. I see that many people here are just story runner instead of grinding as every final fantasy up to this point was intended to be.
