There are Al Bhed dictionaries that allow you to use primers collected in another save file.

@@Tofu305 They're normally in Al Bhed inns, but there's also one near the Baaj temple at the beginning of the game. You just need to start a new game on the same memory card as a file that's collected all the primers and find an Al Bhed sphere.
