Final Fantasy V Low Level: Enuo

Ойындар

During this attempt, I realized that you can somehow 'control' when you get an Elemental Attack from Finisher. It's a tad tricky to time, but I tested this again and saw that I missed much more often by blindly selecting Finisher, compared to waiting for a few ATB 'tics' to trigger it.

    It's insane that you are able to pull this off with a party level I wouldn't think would be ready for the first boss encounter.

    That (among other equally important things) is a testament to how great the mechanics of this game are. Note: It is also possible to do so with only one alive character. It's just much more luck based, and at the time, I didn't have the time to roll the dice multiple times until I got the outcome I wanted.

    Does giving him Dragon-type through mix work? (I think it should, but I haven't played in ages, so can't be sure.) If it does, couldn't you just do mix-level-buff > Dragon Lance Jump (like with Neo Shinryu but without the invincible toggle) without having to deal with Finisher's coin-flip? (Though this does mean no mini on your attacker.)

    Haven't tried that, but it should prove quite effective. The question would be if all the extra turns for buffing could be worth the risk of seeing his non-elemental party nukes more often. NOTE: You can beat him with only one accessory, and a single character. The tactics are similar to what you note, except that you're replacing Jump for Dragon Cannon (Combine), and use Hide for the third ability slot. The first phase is the only troublesome part. If you manage to make it to the second phase, you've already won, as there's 0% chance of losing if you time Hide correctly, and switch to any status inflicting cannon that he's immune against (Power Cannon has the best power IIRC, so go for that one), in order to prevent him from using counters (not sure if that works in anything outside of the Advance version, but if you can skip Neo Exdeath with Chaos Cannon, chances are that this will work as well).

    They could probably sell it as DLC (surprised it hasn't happened yet). Though given Square's decision to focus on AAA titles even more (maybe due to them losing a lot of money lately), that might be difficult.

    It could but for FF1 due to the NES spell charge system those 10 to 40 floors PSP/GBA FF1 dungeons would be nearly impossible in fact it would likely take MORE Then 9 Protectra/Invizara spells lv 80+ just to NOT have Omega/Shinryu on the 40th floor of that dungeon NOT kill the entire party in 1 hit. But at the same time at lv 50 with all the FF5 GBA jobs that are NOT necromancer I couldn't even kill/survive the POST game dungeon NORMAL enemies on the way to the first boss fight that area has.

    Is Enuo only available in the GBA port of FFV? Or can he be found in the Pixel Remaster version as well?

    As far as I know, he's GBA only (and also the 2013 mobile port, but that version is defunct). Unless they've released the GBA content as DLC (which they haven't to my knowledge), then no, the PR version does not have Enuo.

    If Neo Exdeath is a merging of all the old sorcerers, shouldn’t it be stronger than Enuo?

    I honestly don't pay much attention to the game's story to know about this. I play it mainly for the gameplay.

    Whats so special about low level runs when you can deal maximum damage as if you're very high leveled?... no point in this.

  • @MrWright

    @MrWright

    >what's so special The fact that: - You don't need to commit yourself to spending 5 turns at minimum to buff yourself in order to deal max damage if you're at Lv 99 (outside fixed damage cases like Finisher, but that's fine since it's RNG, and if you're at Lv 99 to begin with, why bother with Finisher). - Leveling up is the only way to increase HP and MP, and I don't think you need an explanation on why having 105HP is worse than having 9999HP. Or not being able to cast Quick at all with three of your characters. - Certain immunities suddenly matter less when you can simply cast Protect and Shell, cast Curaga or White Wind when necessary, etc. while attacking. - You can cast Bahamut and Curaga with everyone, and keep Mimicking those actions ad nauseam until you win almost every fight. Owed to the low MP, this tactic cannot work at low level. There's quite a few significant differences between Lv 1 and Lv 99, even if we're only talking about damage output (turn commitment, or indulging with an RNG move that may or may not work in a critical moment that could determine whether you win or lose the fight).

    @MrWright nice explanation let alone know minutiae of the game. I similarly had a low level fft vid from doing propositions and the game was much easier than being overleveled and having random battle scaling or tolerating weaker party members (like ch 1 give everyone black magic to auto win and be under level 10). I also think of ff2 speed runs exploiting tomes before pixel remaster had boost as well as a double shield ultima tactic I discovered (older versions wouldn't let you attack and buff shield and unarmed). Overall, there is a sense of replay value, showmanship and community when not winning in a boring way (blood sword or rapidfire). 4:41 meteor and zombie comeback is epic. I boringly beat ff5 shinryu on pixel remaster with coral rings, thief masteries and mix (golem/hastega for my mime) and mix debuffs to go first with that katana.
