The deep meaning of this game is the main selling point for me. Not really the art or the mechanics. The story is perfect and it's already enough

the most underrated ff game is the ff3 remake on ds ((later ported to pc) is important to specify the remake as we never got the original ff3 in the west, and the remake improves it massively)

@@geoffreyboutayeb It has the underrated tag because back in the day, so much emo/edgy FF VII and FF VIII Fanboy hate FF IX, only because they changing the art style for a more cartooney looked.

Melodies of Life fills me with so many memories. It may sound corny, but FFIX has shaped me as person.

Just recently replayed this game and I can easily say it still holds up as an incredible experience that any RPG fan should play!

The best final fantasy, and one of the best RPGs ever made. If you like RPGs or story-driven games at all, you owe it to yourself to get this.

Probably my favorite final fantasy. This is without a doubt a classic

The feels are real, so many memories from my early teens

This was the game that introduced me to the FF franchise. Even though FF7 is the fan favorite, this one will always have a place in my heart.

Melodies of life is beautiful, specially with all the context between Garnet and my boy Zidane. FFIX is definitely one of the best of the franchise and that ending still take some tears of my eyes.

This is the best FF of all time and you must buy it now and stop reading this message and why haven't you bought it yet?!

I remember years ago, skipping school to buy FF9 and the stragedy guide with pocket money I had saved up, and falling in love with it straight away. Out of them all, this is easily my favourite Final Fantasy. Fast forward to today, and I'm ready to dive in once again. Thank you Nintendo, thank you Square Enix. Seriously, thank you.

One of the greatest games and stories ever made.

Oh man the nostalgia lol. This game was so great and visually ahead of it's time. It still looks great in 2019.

This is probably one of the best, if not, the best song for any Final Fantasy game!

I don't recall ever screaming in joy at a trailer before, let alone at a game I've already played. But my throat hurts after doing just that after seeing the "available now" part during the direct.

For those that never played it...its amazing, this game with FF6 are my favorite Final Fantasy games

@kel petch Not the entire game, necessarily, just its engine, as the assets can still be reclaimed through retail copies. Not a small feat to rebuild an engine, but probably easier than an action game with heavy physics, Definitely more than they may find worth it, though. It may still happen (or be happening), but I won't count on it too soon. But I do hope, someday.

I rather Square Enix remake it with new updated assets but still keep the core battle mechanics. I'm not a fan of what they're doing to FF7's battle mechanic where they're trying to make it more in the style of recent FF's like FF13 and FF15.

@kel petch It's the original PS1 code that's lost, not the lower quality PC version, though. Same was true for VII but they reverse engineered the PC version, which was a long and expensive process, and will have to do the same with VIII to make an acceptable port...

I completed Final Fantasy 9 for the first time & my goodness; it is an amazing game. I'm so glad I got an chance to experience it & worth my effort. This game is the reason that I'm becoming an Final Fantasy fan right now & at this point, this is my absolute Final Fantasy game & one of my favorite games of all time. What an fantastic game. And I'm looking forward to try out the other Final Fantasy games that I missed out on.

Bought for the third time! My favourite game of my childhood and I always enjoy playing through it again. It looks SO good on the Switch too.

Played it and beat it back when I was a kid nice to see it around again.

Nine is definitely my favorite FF!

I hope so. They have SNES, GBA, PSP, and DS versions to use on emulators. Not to mention 3 and 4 are on Steam.

I didn't want this at first, but after seeing how much love it receives from fans, I ended up buying it. Just beat it 5 min ago, and now I say that this is truly truly truly an RPG masterpiece with engaging gameplay and an amazing story filled with emotion and heart

Haven't played this game in many years, the little wizard looking character was my favorite since the first ff, I've always found it very cool and adorable

When I was a teenager I had no console to play this game, but I loved the song so much that I listened it every day. I’m now in my early 30s and this is finally the time to experience the masterpiece :) So glad FF series are coming to Nintendo Switch!!

Final Fantasy finally coming full circle and now I can play the title that made me a fan of the series. Never be another game like Final Fantasy 9.
