Just played the ff6 pixel remaster, and hearing Celes sing made my heart happy. I feel like Celes and Aerith would've become friends. Locke and Cloud would've probably been friends too. Terra and Nanaki. Barret and Cyan. Yuffie and Relm/Gau. Cid and Edgar. Setzer and Cait Sith. Tifa and Sabin. I could see the ff6 and ff7 cast getting along well, very similar spirits.

So the surprise was she had to go on BG at all. I saw dozens of watch party videos of the game awards in December just to see if anyone knew who she was when they announced her name before she sung and during the performance, and virtually no one knew who she was, or asked about her afterward.

I was asked to make the song so that the key phrase would play in repetition, and that’s when Harry Nilsson’s “Without You” came to mind. How did you feel when you first listened to “No Promises to Keep?” Uematsu: This is the first time I’ve heard this, and I’m glad she sensed exactly what we were aiming for. “No Promises to Keep” is a love song. I wanted it to exude a sweet feeling, but at the same time, evoke the complex feeling as Aerith confessed her feelings. I tried to build up the song as it climaxed, exactly as Loren described Was there anything you paid attention to when singing “No Promises to Keep”? Loren: I wanted to get to know Aerith well, and I also wanted to depict her relationship with Cloud. So, for me to channel her fragile and pure personality, I needed to change certain elements of my natural vocals to match up with her character. No Promises to Keep was inspired by, “Without you” I just listened to the version Mariah Carey sings in Tokyo and wow, you need to listen to it.

Even funnier is Hugh Jackman’s character, PT Barnum, is married to his childhood friend too. And he was in a love triangle with Jenny (which is not accurate in real life).

I always had an emotional attachment to the original Final Fantasy VII from when I was a child, then I got to start playing the original again as an adult in preparation for the Remake Series. Playing through Remake & Rebirth so far bring back so many great memories and getting to play through scenes albeit reimagined like this are all kinds of lovely! And there've been quite a few tears.

I fell in love with this song even more since Nojima confirmed It's about Elymra, Zack, Cloud, Tifa, her real mom, and other people she cares about. So so so touching that she hopes she can be with the people who enhanced her life.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth realy made for tribute to Aerith

Came back here after witnessing this on Chapter 12. I really cried 2AM in the morning, because of this scene. This is just purely magical. The emotions the song brought out of us players, especially we have invested in the characters and in the story. FF7 Rebirth is just on a whole 'nother level. Square Enix, thank you for this game! The remake of FF7 was truly worth the wait and I can't wait to finish the FF7Rebirth and for the final installment of this game.

Tifa and Cloud being there all supportive of their big sis as she makes her debut and her swan song all at once. Watching this after beating the game is the epitome of bittersweet.

What was the inspiration behind No Promises to Keep? Uematsu: Since it is a ballad, I wanted to make it absolutely electrifying. I was asked to make the song so that the key phrase would play in repetition, and that’s when Harry Nilsson’s “Without You” came to mind. I took inspiration from it and decided to repeat a key phrase in the chorus. How did you feel when you first listened to “No Promises to Keep?” Uematsu: This is the first time I’ve heard this, and I’m glad she sensed exactly what we were aiming for. “No Promises to Keep” is a love song. I wanted it to exude a sweet feeling, but at the same time, evoke the complex feeling as Aerith confessed her feelings. I tried to build up the song as it climaxed, exactly as Loren described Was there anything you paid attention to when singing “No Promises to Keep”? Loren: I wanted to get to know Aerith well, and I also wanted to depict her relationship with Cloud. So, for me to channel her fragile and pure personality, I needed to change certain elements of my natural vocals to match up with her character. No Promises to Keep was inspired by, “Without you” I just listened to the version Mariah Carey sings in Tokyo and wow, you need to listen to it.

If you went the Aerith route she bursts into tears at the end

@@DarthPingu07 I don’t think that’s true, I’ve seen the other one and it looked the same to me. She cries at the very end of the performance and again when it’s done.

Just played through this part. It felt like such a serious love letter to FF7 as a whole. Couldnt get over how great it was.

3:16 just hits you right in the feels.

I was waiting to watch Aerith singing since GameAwards and since I played the demo🎉❤ I don't even plan to play FF7R until I can fix my dualsense and buy a new one and the game, I really loved FF7 remake and I'm sure I will love Rebirth too. Now I just got PC/Steam FF7 version to know how the original game is.

And to think the BBC apparently turned this song down for Olly Alexander. Loren could have got a potential Eurovision win with this, guaranteed top 5 at least. The FF7 Rebirth momentum would have pushed this along big time too.

I cried badly when Cait Sith died at the temple. This was runner up.

Tifa and Cloud only hold hands when you get her as your date but when you have the others they won't hold hands. Also Aerith always plays Princess Rosa if you got Aerith or the other members as a date.

the high note at “evermore” was unexpected, plus the biggs, wedge, and jessie illusion. it killed me

The Loveless section went so hard and then ended with this banger. Felt like nostalgia inside something new and I loved every second of it.

You could say that it's actually 3.0, when you consider Melodies of Life... or 4.0, if you count Suteki da ne... or, if you go back to FFVI, this is technically Aria di Mezzo Carattere 5.0.

This whole sequence was fucking epic... one of my fave ij a game period. The play fight scenes were so sick and well done. the jesse tribute...and then THIS. so good! i teared up

Celes' theme/opera inspired Aerith's theme. Celes is like a mix between Cecil from 4 and Aerith, I'd love to see 6 get a remake.

Jesus Christ man…I haven’t cried in over a decade. Lost close people, had some hard times. Then this shit comes along hits me like a freight train with nostalgia and tears me up because I know what’s coming. Haven’t beat it yet. Love this game. Rebirth is a masterpiece in my opinion.
