    Thanks, Brandon! I like the look of 50mm but in most situations I filmed with the RF50/1.2 I was not 100% happy because it was not wide enough for the environment I wanted to capture. It was too much focused on the character. I have switched to the Sigma Art 40/1.4 and with the Canon 100 Macro and the RF15-35 my setup is complete. For me, the 40mm look is perfect for videography. Regarding the filters, have you ever tried Breakthrough Photography filters? I think there are no better filters on the market! Keep up the great work and once again thanks for your videos!

    I think a lot of filmmakers would agree that 40mm or 35mm are more practical for filmmaking because they're a bit wider and more forgiving. I haven't tried Breakthrough but I think their magnetic filters aren't available yet.

    I find it interesting that some filmmakers highly recommend buying such lenses as the 24mm, 35mm, 85mm or 105mm than the 50mm lens. If they can afford those lenses, fine. I can't and won't buy them.

    I struggle the most figuring out what aperture value to use when filming multiple subjects at once. Like my wife and newborn, one always ends up out of focus and since it's always on the fly I tend to error to closing it down more then a probably need. Of course I would use focus peaking but it's not available in autofocus. Guess I should just shoot wide open and change focus between to two as I intend to lead the eye.

  • @BrandonLiUnscripted

    @BrandonLiUnscripted

    Yeah you need to place your subjects in the same plane of focus, or go to a narrower aperture or wider focal length.

Thanks
