I don’t know what it is because I’ve seen this trailer many times but at the end when she says “The war…” *bang* (Logo reveal) “of the Eikons” I get chills every time

I feel this way at the line: Rise you crownless kings

The way shots portray Eikons and Dominants more intimately than you'd expect feels like a promise of great character writing to come, and I'm happy you're around to break down what techniques they're doing. Good stuff, Creative Business Unit III. Keeping the bar high with their hybrid of Ivalice world-building and snappy, classic crystal lore.

As a skeptic from the last few trailers, I am 100% sold. This looks incredible.

It's not just camera angles used for Hugo (Titan's dominant) to make him look big. He IS big. Massive. An absolute unit. You can see it in a previous trailer (Dominance trailer) for the game. He's mountainous.

Love the FF5 song “A New World” in your intro! Such a nostalgic vibe!!

If you look at the picture at the end the Summon /Eikon at the top can't be Bahamut since he's at the bottom above Odin. The one at the top is unknown and possibly the true form of the Fire Eikon, since we know from prior info that there are two Eikon's of Fire for the red crystal situated on the Island of Drake's Breath which is seen at 3:14. Since Rosaria has Phoenix, and the sudden appearance of Ifrit as indicated by another trailer by someone showing their surprise that there is another Eikon of fire other then phoenix. As for the other Eikons in that image from left to right Garuda, Ramuh, Titan, Shiva in the middle, Odin at the bottom, Bahamut above him, and Leviathan above him and above them all is the mysterious new Eikon which I'm assuming is a fusion of both Ifrit and Phoenix into its true form.

I made a similar comment. I'm wondering if that fusion is Raktapaksa, which in FFXIV is a fusion form of Ifrit and Garuda from the Eden raids.

I kinda had the image that it was Zodiark. With all the wings and the overall sillouette, it kind of reminded me of Zodiark from FF12

@@ComickerSeikatsu I don’t think Yoshida would let Zodiark be a major element of 2 games he was involved with. You don’t want to keep making the same game over and over. While I don’t think Raktapaksa would be the ultimate villain or anything, that seems more likely as it wouldn’t use the exact same major antagonist again.

I can't believe how graphically good it looks !

Jun Akiyama, who worked on the cutscenes for vagrant story all the way back in the ps1 days, is working on this game, i think. the vagrant story cinematography was amazing back then.

It seems that the Ramuh dominant is the one traveling with us (hiking in death valley). On his establishing shot we can see he poses his left arm in a weird way, often associated with Samurais in Japans. However, we later get to known that his left arm is damaged/decaying, which may explain the earlier shot. If you get that together with what they are saying at the time, it seems that is not the blight but a side effect from using the Eikon's power, which would be a cool bit of additional lore.

@@PhilipHarts you welcome Also something I notice is the fact this is the second trailer the show the titan boss fifth in both the first and second trailer maybe there hinting that this boss fight will be a really epic one. Really looking forward to it and the other Eikon boos fights when the game comes out

It's important to note we do NOT have an open world as confirmed by dev statements. Which I honestly appreciate. I'm not too keen on open world settings (Breath of the Wild being the only open world game I've completed). I much prefer a more streamlined progression style.

Did you notice that the guy spilt the ocean and ocean floor when he walked forward from materializing from the black? thats Odin AKA Barnabas

I wish for dlc we could get gear from final fantasy 14 as cosmetic or something for final fantasy 16

The implication from the voice over is that what you're referring to as the Blight at 19:41 for instance is that these are dominants and the eikon's power is literally draining their bodies to a withered husk.

Apparently someone translated the japanese trailer and...yeah, that's basically what's going on. Something along the lines of them turning to stone or something if I remember hearing correctly.

This might be the first game where you really NEED HDR to get the full effect.

Music similar to Final fantasy 2,3,4 battle music!!!!!!!!!

Takeshi Nozue the CGI cinematic director on FFXV and the director of Kingsglaive FFXV are working on FFXVI so I'm not really supprised that the shots are as good as they are. This was confirmed by FFXVI's famed producer, Yoshi-P

Unless they've given a new business unit the charge of XVII, I wouldn't expect to see even a trailer for it until at least 2027. CBU3 is still actively developing XIV alongside XVI and CBU1 still has 2 more parts of VII Remake to release... personally I'd bet on a 2028-2030 release of XVII at this rate

I know it's been mentioned in some leaks and w the anime coming along I wouldn't be surprised, but I was under the impression that there's been no official acknowledgment of it yet. Either way, I don't see CBU1 or CBU3 working on that project personally. Not that I don't think it's coming, but I think it'll be closer to a 1:1 remake with some updated graphics that another unit could handle.

Somehow this trailer gives me a darksouls/elden ring vibes. Even the narrator sounds like ranna from elden ring.
