Just wanted to give you a heads-up, if you're not already aware. I reported some scammer using your name trying to get folks to message them on Telegram saying they won something. I find them all over in comments under so many videos. I hope folks know better not to answer them. I can't stand people who prey on folks who might not know better. That said, it's funny how a screech owl sounds more like a loon to me 😂 It took me a long time and asking the right question to the right person before I learned what was making that weird noise I wasn't familiar with only having been a backyard bird nerd until i moved to where i am now. Now I live right near the woods and large open fields and I hear them fairly often. I'm enjoying your videos and I really have to put a bird bath out for the birds who come to my feeders. Maybe one with a fountain for the added attraction of the noise. I so enjoy seeing the birds. Well done, and very thoughtful to think of the animals who benefit from the larger pond and more native plant life. I think my favorite bird so far who I see is a male red bellied woodpecker who is very loud and showy, he's such a ham and very entertaining to watch from my windows while having my morning coffee. 😄

Stefano: Amazing! Woodcock: Peeeeep!
Before KZread, where on earth did you document your AMAZING activities!! How wonderful! I didn’t have a childhood that included learning about wildlife. I’m old now, and I can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed watching your wildlife pond develop and learning about birds. It would never have happened without your KZread videos! I was literally holding my breath when you were waiting so patiently for this last bird (the Woodcock) to appear. I just knew it would, and what a treat to finally see it and hear it! I’ll be back!
I'm so in love with your philosophies and how you made this all yourself, so much heart and effort. I love the little garden and the hummingbird feeder being so close, and the natural habitat restored for the birds is so thoughtful. You're already getting such amazing footage!
I’ve been waiting for this! Phenomenal video Stefano, can’t wait to see more. You have done an amazing job on your little pond and habitat.

As my child has grown up, I’ve lost my fascination, love and connection to nature. I’m inspired by your videos to prepare my garden for spring. Much admiration from Kent, England. 👍
18:06 Awwie the "peeek" is so anticlimatically funny 😂 the tension building up and broken by such a cute sound.
I love how you narrate some of these clips - the intimidatingly macho hummingbird was particularly delightful
I love the funny little noise the Woodcock made when u finally got him on film. Worth all the effort.
Thank you Stefano for doing what you can to create wildlife habitat. The native plants are the foundation of your ecosystem. Thank you for the lists and and detailed maps and explanations. This makes me (a viewer from New Jersey) feel like I am right there with you. The amount of work you are putting into this physically and technically is admirable and motivating.
Just two videos in and this is already one of my favourite channels, ever. I'm not exaggerating.
I am completely relaxed after watching this. I loved the shots of the frogs most as well as the funny calls from the woodcock
I love birds so much. The humming birds are beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
The woodpecker sounds like a squiky toy Please continue showing this pond project, it's really amazing
Gosh, I don’t know where to start. I loved everything about this video! That Woodcock footage was so, so cool. Congratulations on that! All your bird footage is gorgeous. And your down to earth, informative, and funny narrative makes all of your videos fun to watch. And, of course, now I’m wanting a larger pond setup with a spiffy photo blind :-D. Congratulations on your success with all of this. Can’t wait to see what you do next.

I used to give my violet green swallows turkey feathers, long ones and I noticed that they had to bring the feather into the box quill tip first. If they had it wrong they would let it go midair and try to grab it by the proper end. Sometimes losing it to another swallow. 😊
So much love in what you do. 💚

Amazing work! The hummingbird bit was adorable
As a newcomer to this channel, I can only say this is absolutely inspirational. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Great video Stefano. Awesome to see the swallow catching the feathers... so funny to see them struggling with bringing the featther inside the box. I have seen similar behaviour with house wren, trying to bring in little stick into the box, too long to come horizontally, it can take them a while to figure how to turn them sideways. Great coverage of the hummingbird display/behavious so cute! So cool you got the woodcok! I truly think you should have your tv show... you are so good and interesting with such a good sense of humour, I am sure a lot of people would watch! Looking forward to seeing your next video!

Big adventure in the Pond. Love it. Each getting their own story.
Found your channel (!) and appreciate you creating a habitat for wildlife and sharing photos of visitors to the pond. If you're looking for plant suggestions, Winterberry or Ilex Verticillata is a wildlife friendly plant that produces beautiful red berries that are held during the winter; I love seeing this shrub laden with snow and berries. The shrub is dioecious, meaning that each plant is either male or female. The female is the only one that produces berries and a male plant must be nearby for pollination (one male plant for every 5-10 female plants); I have 'Winter Red' and 'Southern Gentleman' varieties. Attracts pollinators to the little white flowers in spring, and the berries are eaten by birds in late winter once they have been frozen; Cardinals love them.
Looking forward more home-made pond activity!
Just found you on KZread, so glad I did. I love your videos. I'm as excited as you are when that special bird comes along. I cheered when the Woodcock appeared. Will be coming along with you on your adventures, can't wait. Hope your Christmas was great. Hello to your wife and the kitty.
THANK YOU, for ALL your beautiful videos!
I just love, love your videos! The shots of the birds are amazing. I especially love the swallows, they are so elegant. The "meep" of the woodcock was hilarious! Can't wait for more videos of your new homestead. Does this pond still exist though? I live in the middle of Berlin, so city life galore. But amazingly, we have pretty much wildlife, and great diversity. Sometimes a hooded crow visits me on the balcony for the occasional snack from my hand, and the sparrows love my feeder. The blackbird and the woodpigeon pair return every year to nest in our small backyard. And lately a kestrel is sleeping under the roof every night! But this is nothing compared to the abundance of bird species you have there. Btw, I also love starlings :) they are absolute rowdies, but they are so smart, and their feathers twinkle like diamonds.
What a bird nerd!💞Really enjoy these videos!
Oh that's what they're called. I saw an Instagram video of an american woodcock walking that cool way across a road. Lovely bird. Great catch. You're so lucky.
Your commentary in the last minutes of the video while waiting on the little fella was great!! I just need you to say it with a British accent!! 🤣🤣😂😂😂
I live in Washington and I saw my first eastern bluebird it's the first time ever they've migrated to Washington. I also enjoyed seeing this video it was awesome, it was amazing to see all the birds that I can't see in the west.
I like the new pond very much, and I love your enthusiasm. I love all those birdies, but one of my very favorites is the European Starling. I just LOVE that birdie since I have had two of them in a very large aviary and would even fly free in the house. Great video!
Your photography is beautiful. Those of us watching are benefitting from the bigger pond. It is amazing. I love looking at the details in the species of birds thanks to your great pics. And I have learned so much. All that about the ants and the aphids was interesting. I watch u instead of news and my outlook has improved. Lol.
Fantastic! I love birds and jumping spiders. Beautiful video.
the ecosystem is really well maintained and the birds are tame even though they live in the wild. greetings from Indonesia

What are your thoughts on using audio recordings from Merlin to tease birds out of bushes to get a shot? I've read it is OK, but I hesitate to do it. Feels like cheating in a way.
@StefanoIaniro

@@gutjahrmusic I never do it. When I first started bird photography people always told me that’s what you need to do. I always hated doing it. I personally rather study the birds and try to learn their natural behaviour, even if that takes a lot longer. Call playback gets you good photos but doesn’t really teach you much.
Wow, I just discovered your channel and I am flashed by the positive energy that you transfer in your video. You really look like a really happy person and that makes me happy. You have a great passion about the wildlife photography. Big thank you for sharing that experience with us.
