I watched QB Schools video. It was a comedy and a horror show all rolled up in one hour long video. I’ve never seen a team be this bad to start the season. They look completely disorganized on the field. We spent those draft picks to bring in Moore and he barely gets the back thrown his way. Claypool is beyond lucky he wasn’t cut on Monday. His effort was beyond disgusting. Kmet is stealing money from the Bears as well with what he put on film. And our offensive line. SMH SMH SMH. The fact that we had guys that we cut to make the starters that we have now is beyond belief. I had such high hopes for this team but the issues I saw from this game take a long time to fix. And where is the Fields I saw in college that was tearing teams apart. The guy that played with no fear? This guy has become so hesitant and lost all of his confidence. Is truly a shame to see. I hope he can some how figure things out

There's a $200m+ reason why the Bears FO and coaching regime wants to see if Fields has progressed as a passer, or else they risk giving him a contract to be the type of QB he won't be able to sustain being. The Cardinals are now stuck with Kyler Murray's $230m contract, while the Ravens are trying their best to make sure the $260m they gave Lamar is not a mistake by getting rid of the OC who turned him into an MVP.

the problem is that no quarterback playing in the nfl today deserves a $200M+ contract, unless that were to be spread out over 7-8 years _at least._ not even patrick mahomes deserves that kind of money - you can’t field a good team in a salary-capped league that way

It's like the Bears are either intentionally tanking or the players are trying to get their coaching staff fired or the coaching staff is really bad or they just suck. I can't decide if it's one of those things or all of them at the same time.

Fields is athletic but doesn't seem to mentally process the field very well. Mind you, I don't watch him a ton so I'm speaking 90% off of highlights, stats, and primetime games but the stats speak volumes. His time to throw is among the longest in the NFL, only ahead of Watson, Darnold, and Zach Wilson last year. His 'bad throw%' and 'on target%' were also among the worst in football last year. He also had the worst aggressiveness(nextgenstats, I think this just means tight window throws) in the league and sack rate, but his OL had a pretty good passblock-winrate according to PFF. Just all around BAD.

As a packers fan, don't even try to tank because bears can't draft a qb to save their life. Bears draft pick have been trash year, after year, David Montgomery already gone, kevin white trash, fields looking like trash and don't even get me started on bears savior, Mitchell Tribisky. This organization needs an overhaul from owners to everyone in coaching and management staff to trash ass scouts. Funny watching bears organization burn Like joker said to batman, THERE IS NOTHING FOR YOU TO THREATEN ME WITH lol GPG

This offense …The Fields-Quinn offense … unlocks the special skill set of Justin Fields. I believe it's the answer. I love my Chicago Bears … and I hate to see the turmoil we’re in … but I think I have found a way out of it. No new players required, no waiting around, we can fix the problem on offense right now. An offense that moves the chains and controls the clock also helps its defense to rest. We would need a QB to spell Justin occasionally, and confuse the defense. The solution is to simplify things for Justin, for everybody. And Luke Getsy is not required, because Justin would decide the outcome of every play for himself, and to be himself. JF is good at two things. Running … and throwing the ball while running. This offense …The Fields-Quinn offense … unlocks the special skill set of Justin Fields. I suggest a player of his particular skill set operate exclusively in the play-action scenario. The formation never changes. On every single play, the defense will see exactly the same formation. One tight end, three receivers, and a running back behind the QB. On every single play, the defense will see the QB under center, taking the snap, and moving back to hand it off to the running back, who may be moving towards the line, or left, or right. On every single play, if the ball is not handed off …. The QB will boot one way or the other. As he runs, he will determine if there is an open player he can hit relatively easily … or he will continue on foot and gain a first down. The running back is either a roving blocker, or a target. The defense cannot really cheat either way. They must present a balanced look. IF they bring a heavy line, for example on 3rd and 1 …. The QB can simply boot and run for the first down, or throw it to a receiver wide open deep. If it is 3rd and 20 … and the defense is playing deep off the ball .. the QB can hand it off straight up the gut through a three man defensive line. HE can boot and run amok in the secondary, a forte of his. The power of the offense is that the QB can see what the defense is presenting and decide right up until seconds after the snap .. .what the play will be. Even when he has decide to naked bootleg it … it can still be a pass or a run. Justin has the ability to kill a defense on his feet when he’s in the open. Getting him in the open looking for open receivers is key to Justin’s success. You don’t need to think as you run. Is anyone open near me or easily connected with? No? Keep it. A very simple offense that has amazing power. The defense only ever gets one look, yet it has no idea what’s coming. It has to be ready for a deep pass over the top …. Or a gut punch up the middle … on every single play. Easy to implement, easy to teach, easy for Justin. Where does it fail?

The Claypool block is awful, & it looked as bad as it did bc that rolled down safety should be kicked out by a TE/T. The slot block down/crack the overhang defender. Aiming point of the bubble should be OS shoulder of slot/IS shoulder of kick out. Hold the numbers until you're forced into making a cut to give yourself space to cut in either direction. Same concept, but great coordinators know their guy's limitations & create advantageous angles for easier blocks.

Things to take away from this Fields has little confidence in his arm at this point (has a good one so it’s unfortunate) The team doesn’t believe in him as a leader, nor do they look his way to be one, which is a concern for your supposed franchise qb

Having watched Fields play during his time at Ohio State, he was a very talented QB at the time. His only drawback was that he held onto the ball too long in many cases, waiting for a play to open up. In the pros, you have to throw the receivers open. That being said, I think the Bear coaching staff have tried to turn Fields into something he isn't, namely a pocket QB. I think it's time to trade Fields to a team that will use his talents because the Bears won't.

Getsy has proven time and time again he has no clue what he is doing. Plus Claypool looked like he didn't give a sh** about anything. The o-line was not really addressed other than Wright in the draft. Nate Davis was a nice pick up, but he was taking the entire offseason off shows so much in the game it is pitiful. The coaching staff needs to grow some balls and get him in practice. I know it sounds like I am making excuses for Fields, but if I was in his situation with the o-line being one of the worst, if not the worst in the league I would be fearing for my life as well. Kmet lollygagging on his blocking assignments.... ugh! its going to be a long year bears fans.

If they start 1-4 or there's no QB progress they're gonna have to slowly put in Bagent. It's sad actually, this kid has all the physical tools. Is it him or the coaching? Steve Young said only a handful of teams know how to handle QB's. And will Kevin Warren (president) have the authority to fire the staff if they have another 2-4 win year? It's too early but it's something to consider.

Looks like the Cardinals and Bears are competing for that #1 pick. No way a team looks that bad with the same returning coaches and QB who isn't doing it on purpose. I'll bet AZ gets Williams and Chicago gets Maye. Although, Maye would be a drastic upgrade to Fields.

I still think Fields will pan out. Problem is he has inconsistent mechanics. Despite the fact he's an amazing athlete, he doesn't have that quick twitch ability as a thrower like Russ and Lamar. He has a long windup and struggles going off-platform. I still see enough there though. He just needs to get into a rhythm and step into his throws. When his mechanics stay consistent play-to-play, that's when his accuracy drastically improves and he can drop dimes deep. He's flawed as a passer for sure and may never be elite, but I just don't think he's gonna bust. He has rare physical ability. Vick and Cam were never elite passers either, but were still very good starters for most of their careers.
