Try putting sulfur hexafluoride in the tires this is basically the opposite of helium instead of being lighter than air it's much heavier and instead of making your voice high pitch it makes your voice deeper

While the helium atom is lighter, helium gas is more compressible, so it requires more helium gas to reach the same PSI vs normal air. The decrease in compression resistance is greater than the decreased weight, so there is a net increase in weight at a given PSI.

His theory is very wrong. The volume and temperature are the same and the pressure is even less. Because of this, according to the ideal gas law PV=nRT, the number of particles would be the same or less than an air filled tire no matter the density of the gas. ( Even though density is the wrong measurement as we are dealing with pressure not downforce.) Given an equal number of particles the gas with the lowest molar mass will always be lighter no matter what. As for the video, the results produced are probably due to variance in the scale, uneven surface or change in body weight (for example if he ate food between shots.) TL;DR His theory is wrong due to basic level 1 high school chemistry.

They could use Butane or Hexane, but hexane is extremely toxic and lots of butane can be considered toxic so they would have to be very careful. Edit: Hexane is 3x denser than air, butane is 2x.

Yeah,they thought the TANK would explode..... A tank that is under it's most pressure when full... They thought it would explode while reducing pressure from it....... That tank is under what? 250psi maybe? Their tires are designed for a MAXIMUM pressure of about 1/8th of that, yet they don't worry about the tires and think the cardboard box will protect from an exploding steel tank. I fear for the future of the human race.....

I'm guessing you had an error with the scales and they Tared wrong after the first measurement. It's impossible for the weight to increase if you filled them to the same pressure. All gasses fill the same volume of space at the same temperature when measured by molecular count. One mole of helium WILL fill the same volume as one mole of air. Something went wrong. I'm sorry to say it. The only thing I can think of apart from the scales being in error, is if somehow, the bike gained mass between the measurements. Think about this: Did the tank weigh four pounds less after you filled tires?

I was cringing pretty hard during this video. I’m not a scientist but do know quite a bit about gasses. I’m sorry to say but your theory is wrong. Let me show you why. According to the ideal gas law PV=nRT where P is pressure, V is volume, n is the number of moles, R is the gas constant, and T is the temperature in Kelvin, it can be determined that no matter the size of the molecule it will always take the same number of particles to fill a container to the same pressure.(assuming that the other variables stay constant which in this case they do.) For example, a 1 Liter container of hydrogen (a very light gas) will always have the same number of particles as a 1 liter container of SF6 (a very heavy gas). Because they have the same number of atoms, their weights will be directly relative to their molar masses so in this case the SF6 will weigh more. Using this formula and some assumed values for temperature and tire capacity, 311°K and 1 Liter respectively, I calculated that the weight of the helium in your tires would be around 0.4271 grams comparing this to the much heavier 3 grams of air and it is impossible your bike weighed more. The appearance of this was most likely due to variance in the scale or variance in your own weight.

In the balloon the helium has more room to move around making it have the ability to float but since it was put in a metal tank it has less flexibility on the walls so the molecules are continuously running into each other causing there to be more weight from the force of the molecules bouncing off each other,

Weight is weight. A pound of helium weights as much as a pound of lead. Now it takes a larger volume of helium to weigh a pound than it does lead. Its also difficult to weigh a pound of helium under normal conditions. Theres volume and density and mass and buoyancy. These are all different things. There are not weight.
