Filipino Durian Hunt In Davao City 🇵🇭
Today we're seeing what Filipino durian is all about and where better to do that than Davao City, Mindanao!
We headed to a local fruit vendor near us to purchase our first durian in The Philippines.
Apparently we are in low season so the prices were super high, we bought 2 anyway for just under 700 Filipino pesos.
We got one Puyat durian which is supposedly the premium variety and then we bought a little Arancillo durian aswell.
I've gotta be honest the Durian was super delicious we took them home and had a feast. I don't know where they rank on the worldwide durian scale but they were pretty good.

You guys are just the epitome for a traveller, adventurer . Very amazed how your are so open in all aspects of travelling, your heart is so welcoming to culture not to mention your taste buds, Impressive how you eat and seem to love Durian and most Filo cuisine which most wouldn't even try. I heartfully enjoy your videos in the Phillippines.. more power to you both xx

The seeds of the Marang can be put to dry in the sun, then you can cook it how you cook peanuts. After it is cooked you peel it then eat the inside of the seed.

That fruit "marang" is called Tarap here in Malaysia but only available in East Malaysia. You can hardly find it in West Malaysia.

Im a fan of durian , so jealous of u both u had taste durian of Thailand, Malaysia even from Philippine too. I have some tips for u some durian not fully ripe whole. when u cracked it and found some piece may stiff texture than others. keep that piece in plastic bag and seal it in normal temperature around 10-12 hours. this could help a lot not waste money for free. (so hungry now when i saw that yellow color the taste must b really good🤤)

Now that you are in Mindanao, please explore the wonders of South Cotabato and Sarangani. You'll find the highest zipline in southeast Asia over 7 beautiful falls in Lake Sebu, more exotic fruits along the highways and also the tuna capital in Gensan.

Durian the stinky fruit!I’m impressed that you both 💚 it! Really surprised that you said it smells good…wow! I’ve never had durian and I’m not so brave to try it 😂 This is the 2nd time I’ve heard and seen marang. Odd though that they don’t have it in Cavite. Most of the 🇵🇭 fruits come from Davao. They always say it’s from Davao that’s why they’re pricey.

Honestly, i've only tried the Durian candies hehe. Did you mean that the establishments there won't let you enter with the Durian? I know that some people find the smell offensive. I've seen cats in videos throw up at the smell of it. I haven't tried it on my cats though hehe. Btw, those pastries that are your favorite, they're called Krinkles.

That's the normal price, it's not expensive if you ask me. The manpower to carry and harvest those Durians is no joke. Buy some durian in Manila, now that's expensive.
