Fijian is an Austronesian language of the Malayo-Polynesian family spoken by some 350,000-450,000 ethnic Fijians as a native language. The 2013 Constitution established Fijian as an official language of Fiji, along with English and Fiji Hindi, and there is a discussion about establishing it as the "national language".
If you are interested to see your native language/dialect be featured here.
Submit your recordings to otipeps24@gmail.com.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Fiji indian here! I was just looking through your videos the other day to see if you'd covered our country before, so this was a pleasant surprise! Thank you for your hard work and helping us spread our culture :) If you were to cover Fiji hindi someday, it'd be a real treat. Vinaka! 💗🌺
Fijian and Moluccan Languages of Eastern Maluku has a lot if similarities. English-Fijian-Moluccan Language: No-Sega-Seng or Stone-Batu-Batu or Come-Mai-Mari or Bird-Manu-Manu or People -Tamata-Tamata
Tongan or maldivian (dhivehi) language next please 🇹🇴🇲🇻, thank you :) 👍
Informative as always.
I see one thing my language (Chuukese; Mortlockese🇫🇲) has in common with Fijian. (Besides the numbers and common words that most austronesian languages share) It’s the color “blue”. Blue in my language is “araw”, but you can say “likaraw” and I’ve also heard “arawaraw”.
always superior andy...
It's like a polynesian language, but with more sounds and consonant clusters

Oh, there are no consonant clusters. Just like in most Polynesian languages.
Wow! Very intriguing!

Good video 👍👍
LOVE FROM ROMANIA 😍
But why it sound like a bit like Malagasy with AO sound at the end
why does the number 5 (lima) in the austronesian language family tree seems to be unforgotten?
A fijian chiefs house has two types of doors; nobels entry/exit door and, visitors/commoners enrty/exit door. And the house is split in 3 which is the chiefs side, nobels, and visitors/commoners. Nobels sit along side the walls facing inward of the house whereas commoners/visitors face towards the chief opposite to them. A regular fijian house is also split but by 4, one for the owner of the house, one for the chief, one for your family or clan, and one for commoners/visitors. They each have their own door as well. Please know that this cultural standard of "rank" is now not commonly used in many houses in today's society. What some of us do have is the respect for elders and chiefs, as they enter our house we show great respect to them by having them sit in a comfortable couch or chair and the owner of the house has the right to sit next to them, where as the others living in the household offer them a big meal to feel welcomed. Ok I'm done 😮💨🙂
Nice video love it ♥️❤️
I don’t speak Visaya but I’ve heard from a couple of people that it sounds similar to Fijian. I know they are related but how similar to they sound?

@hurricanemeem

It's a creolized version of Hindi, mainly stemming from Bhojpuri with native Fijian and English influences. It's a very beautiful language, but unfortunately not very known worldwide. I highly recommend researching Fiji Hindi and its history sometime if you'd like!
I see the Lima they have as their number five.
