5 years on and this game has been in the 'Specials' section on GMT's website for a while now. I would have thought this system and game would do well and spawn expansions or related games, kind of like Combat Commander. Wonder why it doesn't seem to have similar appeal.

@farmermaggott: yes it does play well in solitaire too, among other things because it is not card-driven.

Really excellent overview & review (as with all your videos! ). The order/initiative matrix looks like a really fun mechanic. You've totally sold me on the game.

@yorksterMan: simple, they moved from where they were supposed to be!! as for the cubes rules, yes, that's how it works.

@darkwave22: as first wargame this one may have a learning curve a little steep, but nothing excessively scary, really; I don't think you should have any particular problem, and the game is so fun that it will make the homework worthy!

Great review Marco. I checked the rules and quickly found that the Order Matrix is seeded with cubes based on the scenario played, and that a turn is over once cubes are all spent. However, what do the cubes placed half-way between the two sides mean (#8 and 10 in your video)?

Very nice review as always, Marco. I am not a war gamer (yet) and I was thinking of getting this as my first war game. I am a somewhat experienced board gamer though. What do you think? Is this a good starting point or would you recommend another game? Thank you!

Great review! Have you played it solo? Is it ok solo? Better than Combat Commander solo?

Was looking to see if they had a copy of either edition Ukraine 43. Noble Knight games has a first which would be okay but then I saw this game there and I'm going I don't know that game so I went to GMT and I see the first and second games for this and I think your video has got me sold on buying these. and at 45 bucks for each, heck that's a no-brainer. Thanks. Live reactions. Then n now. Note I only got back in gaming about two two and a half years ago after I retired so that's why I don't know about some of these older games or some of your older videos 👍👍👍👍👍

Watching this video 12 years later, I'm curious if you have any thoughts about the game with that much hindsight. I saw the next game in the series made the cut in P500. It wasn't an immediate hit with my usual wargame partner so I haven't been able to play it more than that one time, though I'd like to.

Great review... you really had me entirely interested from the initinutive track. (Spelling... very late tonight..). Honestly, these GMT games are really getting me excited... purchased Labrynth and will purchase this one too... these games are smart, intuitive, and fascinating... thanks again for looking at a game that might be missed. Keep up the good work...you're great.

they're way too different to draw any comparison that wouldn't be frustratingly vague and generic
