Fighting against eminent domain

Companies are using eminent domain to build pipelines to carry natural gas and natural gas liquids from Pennsylvania and Ohio to markets across the country. One family tried to fight back to preserve their land owned for generations, and lost.

Those with the gold make the rules. They have deeper pockets than you to pay off law enforcement, judges, politicians, etc.

I think its time to re think imminent domain. Their are already plenty of roads and utility lines that could be upgraded instead of destroying someone's homestead.

Eminent domain should be abolished and yes there is plenty of infrastructure that can be upgraded.

Would be great to see a politician produce a bill for absolute ownership of land. Make eminent domain and property taxes on property that is already paid off illegal.

Take their money and damage the pipeline forever. Not your fault. You didn't see anything. They have to see you doing it to prosecute. Gas post hole digger comes to mind. fill the hole back in nicely.

It doesn't matter if it's the government or private organisation, if someone threatens and trespasses onto your land, you reserve the right to fire. Name an individual willing to give their life for a buck.

That's a very wrong thing to say. Regardless of what you think of eminent domain, it is legal and the pipeline workers coming on to private land after legally obtaining an easement are not breaking the law. A land owner who fires at them will be behind bars for a VERY long time. Human lives are worth far more than a dispute over an easement. So please don't be trigger happy and do follow the law.
