Third party rule, a party with no direct link to the club can pay players any amount and it does not come under the salary cap. Players control their own IP. East is a outlier because it is still member owned but they do have Uncle Nick. Since Rupert's super league war clubs like the broncs, storm, sea eagles, souths and a few more are privately owned by wealthy individuals and they have ways, the wealthy always have ways.

Pay him 800 on the books a year and fill his off shore account with the rest.

Exactly … A salary cannot work without a draft. The Broncos have 27 club positions available to ex players . Adam Reynolds is signing again on a reduced salary to allow the club to bring up the younger players. But of course he has a job in waiting when he retires . Pay him $200,000 a year to go and visit some schools for four years .. The salary cap is the biggest crock of BS and everybody knows it. The game lacks integrity.

They're checked all the time, as are all of the other clubs in the NRL. Let's face it, the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney is probably one of the most prestigious places to land a job as a professional sportsman in the WORLD. It's an attractive place to live and work. People need to have a serious look at how the salary cap works , before becoming judge and jury. As a Roosters fan all of my life , this finger pointing nonsense has always been around. Nick Politis and his management team are under scrutiny more than most. But you do need a Sombrero on Bondi Beach. A very large one. Respect from the UK.

Dude people have zero idea on how a salary cap works? See when you lose Joey Manu 800k, Suaalil 700k, Keary 850k, JWH 600k, and possibly Angus on 750k, you actually have space in the cap to buy a player for 850k. It's simple right?, money goes out, money goes in. But simple math doesn't matter because it's the big bad rich roosters smh

Please go on with the maths and enlighten us as to how much Tedesco, Brandon Smith, Walker, Lindsey Collins, Dom Young, Spencer Lenui, Victor Radley, Billy Smith, and the 17 others etc are on. And remember that Manu is not leaving, he is only missing half a season, so don't take $800k off. The salary cap is about $11.5m, and there is NO WAY using realistic values that the squad comes close to fitting in at that amount. Demonstrate that "simple math" as you call it.

What about all the Roosters upgrades that they have done. Collins, May, Walker (real soon), Billy Smith, Wong, the Wallaby back? They can upgrade anyone and it never eats into their cap. Once u sign with a team u should leave straight away. Firstly his team wouldn’t wanna play with him and he definitely wouldn’t give a crap about wining cause he is leaving NRL change the rule where u can only sign players at the end f year after the contract is finished. And have a mid season transfer like the NBA.

Just the players that Penrith have lost would be a top 4 team on their own. Yet when Easts won two premierships they didn't lose anyone significant but continue to add players. The maths doesn't work no matter how much you try.

@@youareawesome5236 How can it not ? In almost all major sports all over the world which applies a salary cap must have a draft . It is the only way to stop Salary cap rourting . The NRL tried to implement it but the players had it thrown out simply because they knew they wouldn’t be able to get extras under the table , like a house thrown in, or a $250,000 a year job for the wife to sell raffle tickets🙏

He definitely made the right decision. Penrith will fall off after this year, there teams been ripped apart. they had a good run for the past 4 years while other teams rebuilt and champion players retired.
