Fieldsports Britain - Digweed Shoots Grouse

Спорт

George Digweed shoots grouse, Roy Lupton goes after mountain hares with golden eagles, and we enjoy all the sport and action on a sporting estate in the Angus Glens for a whole year. It's our seventh birthday episode (we launched Fieldsports Britain on the Glorious Twelfth of August 2009) so sit back and enjoy Scotland at its best.

I also enjoyed the management insight. I keep pheasant for family and friends and the difference in the amount of various wildlife that also benefits and is present in much larger numbers is amazing as compared to when I did not do it. As a falconer and x game keeper I'm fortunate to see and understand the massive importance of managing a moor for the Raptors and game in a symbiotic relationship and moor importance to every red listed bird that would not be there if thay didn't have a safe haven to bring there brood up this is a national treasure don't lison to the rspb thay can only dream to to have 0.5 % of the same results thay are a business I've rehabilitated more Raptors as as many British falconers club members have !!!! If you phone them thay will pass it on !! Just do it and see how true this is there not interested its left to kind hearted falconers to step up unpaid

Let people that live in the countryside and make their livelihoods from the countryside live in it and get on with their lives. Let the people who don't, who live in the city and don't have anything better to do than mess up other people's lives shut up and leave these people alone.

I live in the countryside and always have done. I would like future generations to enjoy the countryside as much as I do. I support conservation and apprise grouse shooting as it is unsustainable. This video is NOT a balanced picture. But of course it wouldn't be from the field sports crew.

Fossil fuel use has also been going on for hundreds of years, and is acknowledged to be unsustainable. Grouse shooting uses increasingly intensive land management practices, damaging gases released into the air when burning heather, use of lead shots, raptor persecution, including highly endangered hen harriers... I could go on... Or shall I move on to the 'unethical' factors?

Great video and looks like a great day. As an American when I pheasant shoot its more of a personal event or maybe up to 4 people with dogs . No driver. we have limits, depending on state, of 2 to 5 birds. Looks like a lot of birds are shoot on these hunts. what happneds to them. Are they cleaned and given to the shoots? The driver? sold by the estate? what is the common practice.

7:55 Alternatives raised. 8:10 Commercial forestry - would see a massive increase of animal population of all types. The scenery would be incredibly beautiful and so much more than a barren scorched land without a single tree, deer or fox in sight. 8:21 Sheep farming - agreed 8:30 Do no nothing - at least more natural predators would be around and they'd always be balance, there always was before man came along.
