Carl McCoy's voice is one of the most earthy, primal, sensual, and yet outer worldly and sensitive. His voice and the music travels through dark dimensions of the spirit with strength, beauty and yet without self-pity. That's what I feel makes FotN so powerful.

Carl Mccoy has studied Biblical and arcane knowledge. The way he has woven them into his songs speaks of mysteries of the ancient past, and the workings of the human soul. It is like the song ripping out all your emotions and hurling them against the wall, to drip down slowly like ooze. Do I feel? or do I not? Am I to live forever? It feels like I'm dying right now. Why do I feel that I am eternal? I feel some kind of heaven.

Yea, this album Live.... was THE SHIT !!! quite possibly one of the most beautiful, & spiritual experiences I've ever had, was at the Glasgow Barrowlands 1989(iirc) when they were playing this on the Elyzium tour, geez... Me & 3 other guys from just outside Killie that I knew from drinking in FBG(or Fannies to those in the know), Shep, Duncan & wee Gordon, that I met in the gig, after Wail of Sumer, just looked at each other as tears rolled down our cheeks.... It's moments like that, that are just epic, timeless & priceless !!!

I completely agree - some kinda heaven.
Great band! For many years and still today, they're always current. I have almost theirs vinils 😊
Its a stunning album no doubt. I always seem to be completly mesmorized by the last two songs 'Wail of Sumer/And there Will Your Heart Be Also'. I wish that they were even longer, because I've never heard any other rock songs that are as breath taking and as evocative as those two.
this music is so inspiring, so deep and so beautiful, it such a pity I don't know more bands who have the same spirit as FOTN, also I love they use Aliester Crowley's lines of his poem "At sea", the Polish band "Behemoth" does the same in their song "Horns ov Baphomet",
Now all is clear. Now i know where Tiamat has took influences from
Long live to McCoy, the Great!! In Spain we had Heroes del Silencio, a Fields bad copy -but anyway I like them too-.
wonderful--just absolutely amazing song.....
So much power!!!!!!
Unbelievable album, everytime you listen to eat you hear new stuff, really grabs you by the bollocks.
Si yo alcanzase a ver el fin del mundo, sería la banda sonora esta canción. Es maravillos, tortuosa, bella y terrorífica al mismo tiempo. Una de las canciones de mi vida. If I see the end of the world, this song would be his OST. So wonderfull, hollow, pretty and frightening at the same time. One of my life's songs.
