    Blend it out starting with 80 grit on your repair spot and then 220 and then 320 scotch brite. Use sunshield with Mek after you spray your spot with straight gel coat and a little bit of mek and then come back and spray the spot with 1/3 gel coat and the rest sunshield and remember to slowly blend it out each stage,and you should never hit the tape line.After the sunshield Is sprayed blend it further out with 2 coats of straight sunshield and always fold your tape back so you don’t make a hard line. Ps.this is only if you want it to look like it was never even broken in the first place. Your demonstration is really good for the “do it yourself”kinda guys

    It was the tape and to much red flake as you can see it was a square shape. It would have been better with a puffer bottle and no tape. But it got the job done.

    You dont really need the tape for the color part. The flec should be blended into the surrounding areas just like paint would be. You would just need to go lighter on flec away from the damage.

    I have answers to all of these questions. It really is odd he hasn't replied. You need to use fine line tape on the stripes ,spray them on after flake,then clear it all together. Do NOT use tape on the edge.DO use masking paper. If you NEED to use a tape edge ,lift the tape edge up to avoid a hard tape edge. Subscribe to my channel to get responses. Lol

    You really need to get the dry flake sprayer . You add a little clear gelcoat and spray the dry spray flake over just that area no mess to deal with at all . At 10:34 after you removed the tape you should have went over it again with the acetone to get rid of the glue that's on the tape that transfer to the pained area you can not put to much acetone to . . kzread.info/dash/bejne/i6F5j818ga_QprA.html

    Good video except for one BIG thing: You didn't go into exact detail of what chemicals combine in your sprayer (and at what proportions) to make your clear coat. I don't know what to buy in order to follow your video!!! Do you have to make more than one batch since the first might harden before it's used? Please expand on the chemicals.

    Yea that part kinda pissed me off.. just brushed over the most important part thats unlike any other clear coat ever.. put in some clear, some of the hardener and what?? Then the fucker says put wax in the final coat??? The hell he talkin about? All ive seen as far as boat paint is a clear gel coat that comes in a friggn can... and who knew youd add hardener to a clear coat? Is he just spraying the fiberglass resin thinned out on it? And wax? Like candle or turtle? Like everybody knows all about this watching a how to video.. bullmess is what it is.. fuckery..

  • @mattbriggs6564

    @mattbriggs6564

    Z Ack it’s called wax in styrene. It stops the clear staying tacky. When you have gelcoat exposed to the air, it stays tacky. It is designed to be applied to a mould, therefore the finished surface is not exposed to the air.
