Those quick connect double sided pads look so awesome! But looking at the metal attachment sitting in the middle, and so close to the pad surface seems scary.. especially soft foam that compresses easily.. is that ever an issue? Thanks for the video, awesome content! 👍👌✌

Yes sir they can look intimidating but I've been using the 3m quick attach system for years and have never made contact between the hub and work surface, they offer a variety of polishing/compounding/and cutting pads that work with this system I myself like the foam waffle pads because I can use one side for machine polish once I have already finished with my wool pad and then quickly flip over to the clean side of the back and use my rotary buffer to quickly apply wax and work it in to the gelcoat thanks for watching !!

Did you skip the finishing compound and go straight to the machine polish?

He did both, compound and polish. You *can* often skip compounding and jump to polish if you finish down with higher grits when wetsanding.. very often I can go straight to polish after 5000+ grit. I do work primarily with clear coat though, and I know they're very similar but gel coat is still a different beast.. in my gel coat experience, which is admitedly limited, it usually takes a lot more aggression to level it, but it's less finicky to finish. 👍👌✌
