    Could you please post the links to the fiber cables and converters you use? That would be a great help for some of us looking to get into fiber. Personally, i never got into fiber because I thought it was way out my league in terms of prices, but when you mentioned some of the prices, i was flabbergasted, for real. So PLEASE POST THE LINKS TO ALL THE FIBER STUFF YOU USE. Thanks in advanced and keep up the good work and much success.

    Could you guys do a rundown/tutorial on how everything is setup from camera/audio to the press box to trailer equipment? Maybe point folks in the right direction of at least how to figure this kind of thing out? Haha We’re trying to get into live streaming local races out of a trailer and there are so many confusing things or lack of info out there on HOW and WHAT to use to do this kind of thing that we’re kind of in the analysis paralysis stage trying to figure it out lmao Maybe even a basic “here’s what you need” to get started live streaming events etc. would be super helpful.

    I'll definitely add this to our future video list! For now; check out our original video about our trailer: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hYqFw7ZsZbPefLQ.html This is from a few years ago when we just had the basics and it's a good example for someone just starting out. We've only continued to build upon that early equipment layout. Shows the press box and hoe we get signal down to the trailer.

    Nice Job! You should start looking at Dante with that X32 Rack. It will save your fiber strands and ease setup.

    It says on the website for the SDI over fibre device at 9:18 that is uses single mode. However, you're using bidirectional for some of your devices, which I assume means you also use multimode. How does this work with your MTP trunk cable? Won't there be problems when you mix multimode and singlemode?

  • @jrmvideo

    @jrmvideo

    That's a good question. We've never had an issues mixing the two signal flows. As long as the proper send/receiving device is connected at each end of the trunk cable, that should act as a one-to-one connection over fiber

    We purchase all custom fiber from FS Fiber. That specific MTP Cable is a military grade armored cable with Type A polarity straight through. Both connectors are female MTP-12 with 12 fiber counts.

    So I do have a question, how do distribute all of the fiber cables into like, everything else? How does video get to the switcher? And where does the audio go?

  • @jrmvideo

    We have a server rack with all the rack mounted equipment. (Blackmagic ATEM 2 M/E Video Switcher, Behringer X32 Audio Mixer) Basically, from each adapter, a cable just goes into it's end destination. For example, and SDI over fiber converter...the SDI out of the converter just goes directly into the video switcher. I'd do a video in our server rack but it's not the best cable job.

    Another question because this is sort of related. What about the cameras that are wireless? How do communicate with them?

  • @jrmvideo

    @jrmvideo

    4 ай бұрын

    We just have the wireless receiver up in the press box or near the ATEM Camera Convertor, and will take the wireless receiver SDI or HDMI into the convertor and it'll send the video back to the trailer with no issues.

    Is that cable what you are usin PVC or LSZH cable jacket? can you see any different about jacket if we just roll the cables and take it away after the stream? is it worth of money to pay 2x more to LSZH or 2.0mm to 3.0mm cables?

  • @jrmvideo

    @jrmvideo

    4 ай бұрын

    It's the cheaper PVC jacket. I would say it's not worth it to pay money for the extra coating. Knock on wood but we still have cheap PVC fiber cables being used today after 4 years of heavy use on productions. The only cable I will pay extra for is the main trunk cable. We have that military grade with metal mesh wrap inside. That cable often goes under doorways, in parking lots and high traffic areas. If you're just using patch cables for light indoor use, you'll be fine with PVC coating.

  • @JohnDoe69

    @@jrmvideoThanks, the LSHZ jacket is like +40% price so i am just thinking is it better to buy PVC jacket cable +2-3 extra with same price then to get only 1 LSHZ. Maybe i then choose only the PVC, we have some winter outdoor events but the weather value was almost the same.
