I’ve not done the rear shocks I believe it’s a little more tricky on these than other Fiat’s but I’d be up for giving it a go after lock down

8:25 ...if the moons align :D I have a 2008 Grande Punto that has never shown any sort of wear indicator lights. It still has the original brake hardware, which funnily enough still pass the yearly inspections, but for sure they are at their last moments by now after 12 years of use.

Check out my video on the front brakes. They managed to wear down so much they cut the wires for the wear sensors off, with the huge lip on the discs. Still never flickered a warning, definitely never rely on them.

As far back as you can on the front subframe, in this situation I often aim for the rear mounting bolt of the front suspension lower arm

Hi, I have a basic punto 1.2 8v bought new in 2017 with rear drum barkes. Do you think it would be a simple swap to, change the rears to discs aswell? Thanks

It would certainly be possible but simple probably not, you'll need a lot of parts to do the work and to really know what you are doing with completely stripping down and removing the drum set up before rebuilding the disc brakes, one of the easiest ways to do it would be to get the whole rear axle from a car with disc brakes, however they are few and far between with the Evo and later 2012 onward punto, ironically the grande would have more cars with rear discs because of lots of 1.9 diesels being made with disc brakes on the back, however would you want to put the brakes from a 11 year old car on a 3 year old car?

simple and quick , should of touched up the callipers , that's just me being picky still a great video

Excuse my comment. When you push the brake piston in, why is it counterclockwise? I thought it was clockwise, but does it matter if it is the other way around? 9:00

Sometimes on cars you'll get left handed threads on parts that might be rotated through natural movement of other parts. Therefore sometimes you'll find something like a brake piston needs to be wound back in, in reverse because this avoids it being accidently wound in by normal use. Its just something engineers do sometimes.

Just done mine today; the nearside one is turned ACW, the offside CW (on a RHD Punto, 2008).

hand brake is off while returning the piston right sir ?

Hand brake is off throughout the whole job..... no a lot of point in having it on with the wheels off the ground and then trying to take the brakes apart, but you’ve rightly pointed out I don’t seem to have said this in the video 🤦‍♂️
