Vlad III has both his NP upgrades in this vid, so despite his lower NP level (Vlad III NP3 vs Galatea NP4), his NP multipler is actually higher at 1650% vs Galatea 1425%. At the end of the day, the difference between them is really negligible so just use whoever you like more.

I think the amazing thing about Vlad is that he managed to have NP damage as good as Galatea. She has a 3-turn 20% NP damage buff every time she NP which can be stacked and mutiplied with Oberon’s S3, and yet, her T3 NP4 damage is only as high as Vlad NP3 damage. Remember, Vlad’s Arts Resist debuff is AFTER damage and his only self damage buff is 30% attack. Really show how well he holds up even to this da

Reminds me of Ibuki's initial introduction, where she immediately got sandwiched and overshadowed by Douman and Muramasa, especially the latter. Not even the Koyanskaya of Light system helped when Artoria is seen as the easier yet more accessible alternative among the Buster Sabers. It took until releasing her Summer version that Ibuki finally gets the spotlight that the devs are hoping for her.

Agreed. He's my first SSR during launch and carried me all the way through 1st arc. Sadly he stopped coming after NP2...

They really should updated vlad's sprite and animation to be as epic as they are in apocrypha💀

@@farizahmad3036 missing the point. old merlin had the same quality as current vlad but the former received an update. vlad, jalter, ozy, emiya. quetzalcoatl all have that early servant sprite/animations jank even if their animations isn't the basic caster balls/melee. lasengle makes billions of yen but cant push for more animation updates.

Thanks for this! I got Vlad III first during the CBC 2023 banner but I don't know if he's still worth it especially since Galatea came out just after a few weeks. Thanks for this vid, I can say that Vlad's still worth it. I wish they would give Vlad the "Nameless Vampire" sprite/animation. It'll definitely look cool for me if he changes to that sprite when his 2nd skill is activated. Or they could just turn it into a spiritron dress.

Galatea has carried me over all the main chapters and hard bossfights, in my opinion Vlad is better for looping and boss killing while Galatea works better at surviving and making the team stay alive

Vlad spooked me while rolling for Roma, and I could not be happier to have him in My chaldea

I only want Papa Vlad the Impaler~! He's too cool and I prefer his card deck for Castoria reasons. And his skill upgrades aren't too bad either.

Kinda hilarious when the only A rank Vampirism in the game is Vlad and it's a full 30% battery not fking 27% like the snake sisters and Yu

And then the dev thought we the players asking for more aoe servants 😌🙆

The game still only has farming to do, and servants are not trash if they can't loop, only if the servant can't 6-slot farm, if they have good skills like tai gong + 50% self charge and aoe np they are top tier. But I don't see why anyone would regret having a chance 10x higher of a new servant they like being usable more than 1 time per month if they get lucky with the cq.

Personally I think it depends on the type of content you would face. Incase you are facing a long CQ with fairly intense debuff spam, Galatea is a better option (unless you are capable of spamming Castorias NP enough to keep up). However for just long CQ purposes, I would select Vlad. Not just because him being permanent means potentially higher copies, but also due to the fact that he has slightly better synergy for putting his NP out even after the buffs run dry. He inflicts an arts resistance down debuff on his np, and that does mean that his and the team arts card damage will be improved, compared to Galatea whose NP stacking NP damage up would not help her or the teams face cards with damage when she aint shooting out her NP repeatedly. Vlad also has a double guts which gives him greater survivability and on the + has a lower downtime than Galatea's guts. Another point in Vlad's favor, and this is a very easy to miss one, is the fact he has 2 arts card while Galatea has 1. For Arts chaining post the initial 3 turns, you sometimes tend to run into issues where you may or may not have enough charge for an NP. This may be due to just your servant not performing as well refund wise without buffs from support/self kit, boss having some form of drain mechanic/ unfavorable class, etc. Arts teams run off a backbone of continuing to use arts chain, which ends up with the team having an high output of np spam. But the more non arts cards in a deck, the more risk you run into where you may draw too few cards to perform an arts chain. This isn't a problem for shorter fights, but the longer a fight drags on, you risk this more and more, which can hurt your momentum. You can argue "Your NP Cards are also arts cards", however there are times, specifically during buff downtime, where you might not have an NP to go around. Is the situation I'm highlighting fairly specific? Yeah. But it is best to enter challenging content with minimized risk cause sometimes the world just hates you and makes everything go wrong. 😮‍💨

Recent CQ show that Galatea better due to enemies spam debuff cleanse every break bar or they just straight out have debuff immunity. Both are standard pool so they both has the same chance to spook you. Galatea has tripple buster deck means she is even Koyan and SSkadi compatible, which is huge for min-turning or TA. Also as Zerker, both are pretty squishy, but Galatea is notably tankier than Vlad due to 100% def up for 3Ts with healing

And here I remember you memeing on Vlad this time two years ago because of Galatea, only for Vlad to put all his haters in their place with his buff right after her release. He still remains to this day as the prime arts boss killer as he should be. Edit: Until Kriemhild, but it's her that takes the spot, not Galatea.

Without his 2nd NP Interlude, he was objectively worse than Galatea in every single way. With his 2nd NP Interlude, the only thing he could beat Galatea in was NP damage, and even that is equalized if you use Oberon. Also, stating a fact about how bad a Servant is doesn't makes me or anyone a "hater". While I do tell people to "use whoever you want", it doesn't stop me from pointing out a Servant's flaw and/or downside.

@@xNaya He's now objectively the better boss killer. That is now a fact with his second interlude. As for st farming, I guess you have Galatea but that farming is far and few. Supports make it less of an issue, but Vlad's better np return comes in more handy.

@@xNaya For a three bar boss battle, he has a 30 charge compared to 20 and his arts up isn't connected to it with another np gain and a second arts card on top of it. Once you get going with the arts down, he can fill his gauge from np alone. You usually pair Castoria with either one, so the debuff cleanse on Galatea is more or less pointless. So you have the Np damage up, her rather clunky 10 charge per buster, the Np gauge down (which np damage is still blocked by Castoria) and the two times 100% def for Galatea. I think I know why most people don't even bother with her considering her direct competition they probably already have.

None of the things you mentioned makes him "objectively" better. - His base refund is worse than Galatea on turn 1. - His better refund for subsequent turns hardly matters in a CQ setting when you cycle supports for more buffs, battery and card shuffle. - While he has the Art debuff on a single boss, it's countered by cleanse, debuff resist, debuff immunity or by simply more than one enemy in CQ. Galatea NP damage ramp has none of these weakness. - Having more debuff cleanse is never a bad thing, especially when it comes with healing which Castoria lacks. It even has a unique timing which makes it the only cleanse in the game to work in Cernunnos. You can justify yourself that because you already have Vlad so you don't need to roll Galatea, but stop trying to delude others.

I just came here to listen to SRW music on Naya's videos and ponder on Galatea's pants. Done and Done.
