THIS. I can totally understand that re-releasing this event is good for newer players so they can start working on it, since it is a major time sink, but to not include the newest jobs does make it hard for veteran players to stay invested.

Yeah that was my reaction. I should have know that they did. But for some reason I thought they wouldn't.

Protip anyone wanting relics I got all my atmas and my crystals from hw zones the last event they had it's a great time because the fates are easier to farm when you have lots of people involved. Just remember when farming atmas that you have an atma weapon equipped and also you can stack all of them so you don't have to farm on each atma weapon themselves unless you want to I farmed out 14 each on my drg so def take multiple advantages of the event.

On one of their videos showing the future planned timeline they showed this event and next month the dragon quest event. The two events I really want to take part in and not only that, it seems they will both be running at some point during may! Can't wait to have my dragon quest slime hat and yokai mount along with my fall guys hoodie. I'm going to be a literal walking sponsor XD

I'm excited for the events return. The last time it was here I was a brand new sprout and had no idea how it worked- I didn't know to check the lodestone, and besides, I was busy with the story anyway.

Been waiting for this event but dang was hoping for added weapons with the newer classes and Yokai minions

Nah that's a stretch 😅 Most people who wanted this back didn't expect a whole lot of extra work for the devs to do. This is perfect.

Finally! I started playing the game right when this event ended last time

I'm hyped I played yokai watch 4++ during the last event so I'll be farming for all yokai and weapons this year

Nice to make a suggestion to mob farm places new players can’t reach yet. It’s easy to get caught up in the grind and deprive others of an experience and/or the xp.

That's why I'm half-wondering if some people would be willing to play "taxi" for low levels during the event. A lot of us have 4-seat flying cars now after all... so some groups go cycling through the lower level FATEs with newer players in tow, and as they inevitably level up, start rotating into the gradually higher zones thus freeing back up the lower zones again for the next batch. Could make a whole community event out of it, and if folks want to do ARR relic weapon stuff along the way... that's fine too!

I’m glad for this. I only ever got the first mount the first time this ran. Now I can get the other two.

First 13 weapons and then 17 weapons... That's 2 Expansions worth of jobs so... Maybe we'll get a run for Dawntrail with 4 new weapons?

Exactly what I was thinking! Mentioned it in my comment as well. I'd imagine they just rip the bandage with EW & DT weapons and add the special mount after those 4. That's what I'd do. And if they release it post-DT, it could help with any period that is suffering from content drought. :)

Re: missing weapons. If I was CBU3, I'd wait for post-Dawntrail blues and bring back Yokai Watch then with the new weapons. From what I understand, they released it originally with 13 (upon collecting 13, you get a special mount)... and then 17 (upon collecting 17, you get a special mount). Makes sense, then, that they'd wait to release 4 new weapons in one go with another special mount. I'd do it during post-Dawntrail patches during a potential "content drought". Also, if they went for super special weapons for BLU and Beastmaster, it could add that level of grind that certain people want to see. And maybe open certain upper level areas that don't get visited a lot (like SB zones or ShB zones) to encourage higher level players to farm there. Maybe add an RNG thing where you might be blessed with an odd extra medal here or there if you farm in those zones. This might encourage upper level players to hang out in those zones. :)

I think I will finally do my Atmas grind with this event, only grinded out WHM weapon so far, so many more to go.

It gets easier the more you complete. I am 5 zeta deep and at this point the longest part is just grinding out tam Tara deepcroft unsync’d. Well, and leveling classes to 50 to start each one. Whm, drg, Brd, sch, and sum are done for me. The next up is mnk and then pld. I have all the materials for them all, so it’s just a matter of running books and tam Tara.

I HAVE WAITED SO LONG TO BE ABLE TO DO THIS EVENT ON MY NEW MAIN CHARACTER 😩😩😩 I still have my original character that has the glowy mount, but I transitioned to a new character on a separate data center years ago for friends, so I’m so glad I can finally get the mounts and brag about it again 😩😩

Worries me a little they listed the Whisper mount but no say about the Jibanyan mount on the Lodestone event news. Hopefully it's there I've wanted it for a long time haha

How long would it take to grind everything (all rewards) if you are new to the event? I have a max level character though :)

Maybe the next time the event happens we'll get minions and weapons for Sage, Reaper, Pictomancer and Viper.

To collect all the weapons, do you need to have all the classes unlocked and leveled, or will one level 15 class/job let you buy all the weapons?

I, for whatever reasn, do not have the GnB or DnC weapons, but have the ones for Sam and Rdm xD I also have all 17 minions, so I'm beyond confused by this and why I decided not to get the Gnb or Dnc weapons back in 2020

I'm not crazy over the arms (besides DNC, that one looks sick) but most of the minions and mounts are super adorable. It'll be a grind to get em all but it's super adorable idc

Sounds like this is a good time to do some fate related relic grinds as well since you'll have plenty of people to speed up fate completion rates.

How long would it take to get both ghost mounts? Meaning 13 minions and 13 weapons, could i easily do it in 2 weeks? I really want those mounts but wasn't going to sub again until a couple weeks before dawntrail comes out, but if its going to take longer than 2 weeks i might have to resub sooner.

the achievement reward for getting all combat jobs to level 90, it doesn't dye but does work on Hrothgar and Viera

My guess is, because of how close this is to new expac, this is going to be one of those times it comes back actually REALLY QUICK and instead of getting just 2 new weapons we'll get 4. So not just Sage and Reaper, we'll get Sage, Reaper, Pictomancer, and Viper.

Bittersweet event. I was not online when they added the dancer and gnb weapon so it is a win for me but...no weapon for sage and reaper... that is a huge disappointment.

My quest giver isn't showing up on my map at all. I can't start the quest.

sooo for example, if i don't have a monk lvl up (and not really want to lvl it up on main) i wont get the final mount, since it need all 17 weapons. Sadge, but atleast i have cool watch and minions now!

I love Yo-Kai Watch, but I've never played Final Fantasy. I'm interested.

Kind of a bummer that nothing new was really added other than the frame, but it is what it is. Hope the folks who have missed it enjoy!

@@devastatorprime2423 This event has been around at least 3 or 4x previously. Each time it comes around, more weapons are added for the new jobs. For reasons outside my knowledge, they have opted to skip the new weapons this go around (Sage/Reaper).

I think they shouldve given the newer players from xbox an option to get the last 4 weapons to get the jibanyan mount in ARR zones. I doubt all of them have reached stormblood already.

Every other rerun they add items so my guess if rerun during DW new job weapons with newer jobs. So example SB didnt get RDM and SAM for its rerun. SHB rerun got rdm, sam, gnb and dnc also mount. The grind was hellish in the past. I only need the farmer kits. Thank the twelves. PSA hold on to your coins if you dont complete it, the coins carry over for reruns.

I double-checked and there is a new reward... but it's just a framer kit for portraits. Very underwhelming. I hope they work with Level-5 to add in new Yo-Kai for Reaper, Sage, Viper and Pictomancer. (In hindsight I realized that my plan to have the new Yo-Kai weapon medal be farmed in Shadowbringers FATEs was a bad idea as all expansions after Stormblood changed to Shared FATEs which give bi-color gemstones, and adding the Yo-Kai event to those FATEs would probably screw up the reward system super badly. :()

4 hours of grinding (yes had the watch on and the minion summoned) and not a single drop.

Any idea how long it would take to get all weapon and yokai?

depends on if you have BLU leveled and join FATE party finders, you'll get it a lot faster doing that, but you should have plenty of time if you keep at it

My alts are going unnoticed. I finished this once and swore off of it.

There are so many crossover/collab events I'd love to see but which are unlikely as heck. Kingdom Hearts glamours, Minions minions, Dragonball or Mario costumes, Fate/Stay weapons...

I wish they added in the other weapons a little sad

I respect that we're smack in the middle of pre-expac crunch for the dev team, especially for the poor souls who have to sift through benchmark feedback, but I really would've rather they not re-run it at all if they couldn't add weapons and minions to the roster. Guess that's more time for "Unicorn Overlord" and alt's MSQ progression but I'm kind of sad I won't get to be in the FATE swarm this time around, that's a special sort of chaos you only get once or twice an expac.

Im kind of glad in a way reaper and sage didnt get any weapons because it would make the upcoming viper and picto players in general just feels bad because they decided to do the yokai event before dawntrail and so they would have to wait for the next it also seems like they like to do new batches of stuff in 4's so we should see all 4 getting them next time

Kind of funny how these are more of a grind that the Manderville weapons. I'm expecting no one to think about newer players and just go around and terrorize ARR zones with BLU, making this impossible for them.

Can always join a party in PF or invite sprouts so they get full credit. If I recall correctly, it's no different than any other rare fate grind. Rather than not use BLU, it may be wiser to take advantage of your local BLU in the party finder, or if you are a BLU put up that party finder to help those new players get these fates done!

Sigh...so I guess I have now reached that point to where almost all of the recurring same events I have completed...This just means more time spent playing other games until DT, which I am not complaining about.

I started FFXIV while the second run Yokai Watch event was going on, but I still got the Jibanyan couch mount. My experience was awful. 👍

Hmmm for me this is rather disappointing. This will be my 3rd Yokai event, and each time I enjoyed getting all the weapons and minons, So it is a bit disappointing seeing that sage and reaper miss out on weapons.

Highly doubt that there will be many bluemages doing the event, especially since they greatly nerfed the amount of fates you need to do the last time the event came back, so it will most likely be all new players.

FATEs scale depending on how many people are in the zone, if you're in a party and hitting mobs, you'll get credit even without BLU. More people means more mobs to kill, more items to collect and turn in, more HP on boss monsters, etc. but yes, generally BLUs will be absolutely nuking everything they can. Every time there's a FATE grind where BLU's in the available level range there'll be BLUs, that's part of the incentive to work on BLU for a lot of people.

@@SorasShadow1 The biggest probles are boss fates which do not resist instant kill bluemage abilities and most ARR fates do not resist them. I remember helping someone get fate achievement when bluemage was new and they did not get credit when I used tail screw.

creature collector/monster tamer game focused on Japanese mythology and beings called yokai, largely things like urban legends and cryptids, I played the original back in the day and it was a solid experience as a Pokemon fan and I quite love all my little yokai minions running around in my Island Sanctuary. I've heard that the anime is really fun, too, but definitely targeted towards very young audiences.

Another event that is not really worth doing for veteran players? Cmon square, either add legitimate new rewards for veterans (portrait frames are not worth an event for) or stop doing reruns. Telling the majority of players that you really don’t care about them is not a good look square.

One new item, no weapons for the new jobs. Endwalker continues to be complete and total ass in nearly ever facet of its existence. Dawntrail can't happen soon enough.
