Play as DRK, just the TBN on him before the AOEs, then he takes no damage and you get a "free" edge of shadow on boss. I found that works decently well

I was very very sad when I discovered Urianger being unable to be played with or even remotely playable when playing a tank. In order to keep him alive, you need to pull baby size. But that's not even the worst... as mentioned, during boss fights it goes bad. I thought it was just me being a bad tank yet Alphinaid never dies.

I suggest if anyone is leveling from 70 to level 71 and you have done your hunts and roulettes DONT SPAM LEVEL 70 DUNGEONS they give less exp than the level 69 dungeon and in the level 69 dungeon it syncs you to level 70 so you keep the full 70 kit

Found your channel since i cam back to FFXIV and it has been so helpful. Keep up the good work, dont forget to enjoy the content yourself while making videos.

Wow man, thank you for the video. Very informative. I'm relatively new to MMORPG. I got my summoner to lvl 70 but can no longer move ahead with the main scenario cause I'm stuck in a lvl 70 dungeon. From what you're saying in this video, I need to forget the main story and start doing copious amounts of side quests. Just to unlock flying in every area will take me over a month 😩 😩

I’m only lvl 73 RDM..still working on my crafting to get those to 80, msq and FATE farming. What or where do you get the fairy quests from??

If you have them at max rank, it might also be a good idea to continue to throw the Kojin and Ananta quests in there every day. They're all pretty easy, and together it's just over 2mil worth of EXP. Obviously the overall progress will diminish as you grow in level, but it's pretty nice for early on, and I feel it could still help in the later levels when you're trying to make that last little push

The daily fairy quests are extremly quick and give decent xp. At rank 5, on a lvl78 char I get a bit more than 6M xp in under 3 minutes reliably(last time it took me 2mn24s including taking and turning in the quests) => 10mn/12mn of gametime to lvlup. It's a once a day thing, but keep in mind that in the end of the expansion you'll have 2 tribes for non crafter jobs too. It's the most game time efficient method. Fates are decent for 2/3 men squads. Also keep in mind that doing leveling dungeon is dicey after lvl71, if you get low level dungeons you'll xp less than doing a sb dungeon. lvl50/60/70 dungeons do not net that much xp(tho poetics), however alliance raid and trials are fine. About hunts, they were a solid kicker in the early days of the expansion(allowed me to progress my first job while only doing quests and hunts) and have still a niche that you can exploit when moving around or waiting for a tag, but these are definitely not that great anymore. doing pixie quests will give twice the amount of a daily hunts for way less time invested. Hunts give more xp than fate on average(good fate chains with bonuses procs will give more). The massive issue I have with trust system is the absence of multi packing, but the time required to clear a dj with trusts is not that higher from a low skilled party on average. Usually what you want to do is to pull 2 to 3 packs at once and AoE them. Usually it is preferable to tag with a premade party there and leverage foods and stuffs to truelly obliterate dungeons. (that's how you xp the best, scrolls return decent xp if you play for a 2h session) A good optimisation is to level jobs that share the same armor at once, so you can upgrade your gear as you do dungeons, increasing your farm speed as you go, even better if you play as 4 there. Meld your gear passed lvl60.

Guide should be updated to include the new beast tribe quest, they grant about 8% of your lvl a pop and main scenario roulette gives about 70% of a lvl for the long one. And well u can semi afk through all of it and just teleport into the boss fights.

I did Heaven on High 70 to 71, I got 1.8 million per run, each took -12 minutes, and give 5 commendations and get a million exp

Keep in mind that HoH is a crap shoot. It's all too easy to get 3 dog fuckers who take their time doing sweet fa.

Pro tip: Never combine Alisaie with Ryne. They kill each other.

Do the riding maps actually increase flying speed? I thought they were limited to increasing land movement.

Only when you are shaming them or things like that. eg badmouthing them, using act and tell them "shit dps" etc etc You also have to be reported ingame. Like Square would go into yt and search for videos like this and go on a banning streak.

How can you see the exact HP of monsters?

As a tank, i treat the humans in my Duty the same as NPCs already.

I was wondering the same thing. Although, if you stop pet merging, it begins to list them. But for me, it only lists one or another. For example, it'll count my DPS like normal, then either Lyna or Crystal Exarch as the other DPS source. No idea how to break it down into individual Trust members.

Comment: if you're playing PLD, you can pull large packs if you learn to weave a Requiescat-buffed Clemency into your magic rotation. I did this (and preferred Yshtola to Reyn) for most of my levels.

Ones true enemy is not the grind but thine self !

EXP gain for trust party members has since tripled since this video was released. So leveling them is not so much a concern now.

If you're popping by this video recently, your trust party gets a LOT of exp now. About as much as you get, so you won't be out-leveling them (unless you already had exp from other sources). So if you're a dps, 70-71 do daily roulettes (especially MSQ for 6+ million exp), then spam trusts from 71-80. They take 20-30 minutes depending on your DPS. level 71 dungeons gives 6-ish million exp 73 gives 8 mill exp 75 gives 10 mill exp 77 gives 12 mill exp and 79 gives 14 mill exp.

There's a lot of not great information in here that should be corrected. First off, using the trust system is actually an exp loss over time. Yes it's an instant queue, but the NPCs take forever to clear. So it'll take you roughly the same amount of time to trust clear as it would to queue, wait, then pug it. The difference is while queued you can do side quests or fates. Even doing a single fate during your queue gives more exp than the trust clear in the same amount of time. Secondly, the bicolor gems have no effect on flight speed. You can only increase your mounts ground speed. And since you only need to be on the ground for the 5 minutes it takes to unlock flying, if that's all you're worried about its not worth it. They are good for crafting though. For a dps class your fastest way to level is queue for current dungeons and spam side quests and fates while waiting. You can get roughly 1.5 levels per hour. Slightly more if you work in roulettes and challenge logs. For healers and tanks don't even mess with fates. Your queue times are usually sub 5 minutes for tanks and sub 5 seconds for healers. Just keep running dungeons.

If you're a silly completionist, you can level 2 jobs at the same time with the trust system, keeping them high enough to keep up with you. If you want to go another step further, if you level 2 dps and 2 tanks you will get all the current available trusts to level 80 most efficiently. This also makes sense to save your healers for roulettes, since they are getting most of the in demand bonuses, at least on my server, although that seems to be changing. Of course, that's not the fastest way to get your jobs to 80 though. One more note you didn't cover. I think if you want to finish the sightseeing log, it's a good idea to do it at level 70, since the xp reward is static and doesn't increase with your level. This is another case of not the fastest, but more efficient overall if it's something you want to complete anyway. I think there's 45 total, and they reward about 170k xp each. All the ones outside of Crystarium and Eulmore are trivial to get as long as you can fly.

It's likely better to level a Tank/Healer/PhysicalDPS/MagicDPS, that way you can do each set of role quests. Not sure what the reward is yet, but if you do each role quest there's apparently something special to it.

You said people farm fates to buy faster flying speed? Isn't it just riding speed?

It was ground mount speed in 3.0 and 4.0. I recommend buying crafting mats instead (HQ if you're really spamming FATEs) until crafters stop buying them as much. Then feel free to drop gems on random miscellany.

Urianger and Y'shtola could use a buff or something.

i'm new to the game, so please excuse my stupid question: I saw this custom healthbar, and a dps meter. Can you use addons in this game? because i haven't seen any so far :O And thank you for the Video! That guide for my alts is much appreciated! :)

I'm playing on PS4 so I can say for sure that you can't use this stuff on a console. But yeah, as long as you're on PC it should be possible for you to set everything up. Though, I might add that using 'third party software' isn't really something SE likes to see, especially parser/act (even tho I barely see people getting into trouble for using it)

Yeah, you should be totally fine as long as you're not streaming with it/openly tell people in your party that you are using a parser. If I could I would use it myself, just to see if I can improve my dps/time my heals a lil bit better.

UPDATE FOR ANYONE WATCHING POST 5.01 trust gets more exp now and you shouldn't be out leveling them to badly if at all

as dps the queue for 71 dungeon took 15min ish and it take another 15min to finish + more fun with AoE. but with Trust, its instant queue but took 30min to finish since they dont do AoE at all... I am torn.

Do you have an updated version for 1-70 as a DPS? :)

Yeah go for my 1-70 guide, its still the best method with command missions etc. 😉👍

I ran Holminster with Trusts on WAR and even with double pulls it took ~32 minutes. Trust DPS is horrible, lol. I may give DPS jobs a shot after seeing this. The guaranteed loot (read: glams in my case) is definitely tempting, considering I want every weapon skin from Mt. Gulg.

Honestly, it's better to run Castrum Abania (the level 69-70) dungeon to get to 71 because it gives much more exp than running any of the level 70 dungeons.

Everyone I've seen lately seems to be using the same UI mod. Is it a mod or is there a "sleek" option for UI now?

It's 3rd party software called ACT. It goes by Fight Club rules, don't talk about it if you're using it. SE can't check if you have it but if you talk about it in chat/use its' info to boot or harass people you can get banned.

@@yuukarnstein just Google ffxiv ACT Parser. The original video creator Desperius also said they did a video about setting it up so you could probably search their video history for a guide as well.

You really should turn on health bars for enemies... when it comes to large pack pulls you’re not going to know which mob you should be focusing down... or worse, you’re going to drop enochian because you’re 3/4 into casting fire and the mob is killed by one of the party members...

Mount speed doesn't affect flying.

one thing i like to do is leveling dungeons with friends/FC members making queuing time non existend😀

Yeah of course a good thing to emphasize but for some occasions, Trust really is a blast for DPS jobs...As tank or healer, things may look completely different 😏

Trusts take too long. The time it takes as a DPS right now to find a dungeon group and do the dungeon is almost faster than to do it with trusts. They pull slow and during bosses they stop doing damage all together when there are mechanics that forces them to move. Never tried it as tank though, maybe it is faster there but at the same time why not just normal queue as a tank/healer lol.

It just has a learning curve. I find they can handle big pulls of 2-3 packs easily and as long as I focus on my damage then the bosses go down quickly. At most there's only maybe a 4 minute difference for me and when you factor in queue times of 10-15 minutes it's faster.

@@kirbysuperstar9623 Plus you get chances at the dungeon minion which is guaranteed to be yours should it drop but you also get a nice title if you level them all to 80.

Maybe it's too late in the games life for S Q to invest more effort into game improvements, but I do feel that the chocobos need a reboot of sorts.

I use my chocobo on heals makes things pretty easy

sadly the AI is pretty bad......letting your chocobo on healing only makes it stick right next to you all the time. resulting in it staying inside every aoe and healing himself most of the time more than it heals you😂 i dont get it why it has to be that close to you🙈

Most things are correct, however most people know that already. But There are some major things bothering me: - Rested EXP is always 50%, not 30 - 40%. 50% always. - I don't know why European groups need 24 minutes to clear a dungeon. On Aether groups clear them in 15 - 20 minutes, Trust only compensates the wait times. - Heaven-on-High on 70 is still best to get to 71 without spending rested exp (50% more exp when another class is higher) - Totally ignored the new Quest system which is equal to nut hunts. Best done on low levels and perfect for queue times, dead fate zone etc. - Challenge Log EXP rewards require to run dungeons anyway (run 5 dungeons, give 5 commendations, clear roulette three times) , also no explanation about why it's best to do it on 70 (aka its stuck at 70 for combat) - They removed the kill chains. but also increased the experience points, You also run Castrum Abania, not the Level 70 ones, which give less Experience points then Castrum - Promotion of FFXIVHunt.com would be great, you can check all nut hunts positions there - Scaling should be explained for nut hunts and quests

They should just extend HoH level bracket. This shit is so confusing 😅😂

I am going to disagree with you. I get 5 mil from DR:MS and another 3 from Alliance. Leveling is one of the worst DR. They also help with the first 3 dungeon challenge logs and take less effort and at 5 mil 47 mins is still better then anything you said on here.

do not run with Thancred, Ryne... totally not worth your time. Just do ordinary instancing with other ppl.

Stacking hunt bills is meaningless

@@vroomzoom4206 This is a bit late but, the bonus here is you get seals/desynth/etc, while also leveling an alt job. Running an old dungeon solo won't get you any xp.
