Wow, freaking amazingly beautiful!!! Cloud was fixated on Aerith from the beginning. He literally wouldn’t stop until he saved her and never interested in monetary gain with her. I know, this time, this time he will never let her go! ❤

This song is so perfect for Cloud and Aerith's story- her healing powers and her guidance to pull him from his solitude and isolation. I don't get involved in shipping wars because I'm not a teenager but I don't know how anyone can hear this song- knowing its playing in Aerith's sector in the game and not consider Aerith and Cloud canon. How many signs do you need?! Cloud cares for Tifa a lot- this grows through the game but this is the same way he cares for Wedge, Jessie and the others- maybe a little more since he has known her longer. Aerith is the one who lights him up and drives him on- giving him purpose. When he says "I'm coming for you" It's the most resolve he has shown for anything in the entire game. Amazing video Pollen- well done!

Dude I’ve never played the original game, but it’s my best friend’s favorite game. And he’s told me for years while he was patiently waiting for Remake that I’m going to love Cloud and Tifa’s love story. So when I finally played Remake I had no expectations or preconceived notions of what the game SHOULD be, or what I THINK the game should be. But when I finally played it I absolutely loved Tifa. But I’m like dude…….the game is CLEARLY pushing Cloud and Aerith lmfao……..like it’s extremely obvious. So when I see comments online saying that it’s “evident” or “obvious” how hard the Remake pushes Cloud and Tifa. I’m just like dude…….your confirmation bias is showing lol

@@fearlesscheshirecat1411 I never played OG either and I had some idea of the story thanks to my fiance and my vague memory of the Advent Children movie. When I played though, I could feel so much chemistry between Cloud and Aerith instantly. Their bond has become so special in just a few days. I mean, a lot happened in just those few days too. I do love Tifa with more preference towards Aerith. They're both great women, but in regards to Cloud it's like night and day.

From what I've seen, it's all Zack = Cloud, Aerith sees Zack in Cloud, Highwind scene from OG (Optional), Aerith's fate, and now... Zack being alive because I'm sure they "revived" him simply for fanservice and for Aerith. /sarcasm But those have been the main ridiculous arguments. Yes, Cloud has feelings for Tifa and Tifa has feelings for him. She gets jealous of Aerith most of the time. Will they ever build a healthy relationship? Imo, no. Not from what I saw in Advent Children. To me, Tifa will never be able to reach Cloud like Aerith can.

A beautiful connection I made today, that makes it even more clear that Hollow is Clouds feelings for Aerith, is this part of the lyrics: "Was it all a dream? Will I never know? Foolish and blind To everything Had I realized, Had I thought it through, Would you be here in my embrace?" This could both refer to the dream Cloud had in the Original Final Fantasy VII, where he dreams of Aerith after the Temple of the Ancients, as well as the dream scene in chapter 14 in the remake. The following part of the lyrics however feels like another reference to the dream sequence: "Hear me Once more Show me Your smile This time For sure I'll see The truth hidden inside your tears!"' There's only two times Cloud might have witnessed Aerith's tears so far. The first is in the train graveyard before the Eligor fight. It isn't clear if he actually had time to notice her tears here, but it is possible. The second time Cloud witnesses teary eyed Aerith is during the dream sequence as she tells him not to fall in love with her. Now if we are to analyse the lyrics here, Cloud may not have initially understood why Aerith asked him not to fall in love with her, and later understood that it was not due to her rejecting him, but rather wanting to protect him from losing her, which is why it was bringing tears to her eyes to ask him not to fall in love with her. Very beautiful in my opinion, and sad if her fate is going to stay the same.

The part that says "...with your every smile, hiding something more, dark mysteries, lurking beneath..." just leads towards Aerith. She's the only character who has a cheerful and bright personality with secrets that she has behind her. "Hollow" is Cloud's feelings towards the lost of Aerith.

I love all the clues in both games that lead to them. The instrumental version first plays in sector 5!

I have never played Final Fantasy VII before but when I played for the first time I really thought Cloud and Aerith are confirm couple Lmao 😳 I didn’t know the game don’t have official couple but at first I really seen Them as official , cause they have so much hint and momment and omg their chemistry , their eyes for each other and now this song too . How can you blame me for thinking they are in love 😱

I have no idea how fans of Tifa and Cloud can deny it! There are even fans saying it's about Zack, though he was an important person to Cloud, I doubt it is about him, because of the romantic lyrics. One part says would you still be here in my embrace. I doubt Cloud feels like that about Zack.

A liiter bit selfish but i hope Cloud will do everything to save Aerith no matter how much does it cost in the 2nd part!!! Cuz i love seeing Clerith so much!!

I love them too! I want them to have a happy ending together, but more so, I just want Aerith to live. These are my top two favorite FF characters.

I don't know how can tifa and zack fans consider it that it was for them it is clearly a song for clouds pain for aeriths loss he will save her in rebirth

It also only plays in the sector 5 slums when Cloud is with Aerith, especially when she goes inside the orphanage to deliver the flowers, and leaves him to explore the town by himself.

People argue that the ending of remake shows Zack when Hollow plays again... But I think they also have to realize that it is only the opening, then the lyrics start. The opening instrumental of Hollow is the Aftermath of Cloud losing his home, his mother, the experimentation by Hojo, and losing his dear friend Zack... He then begins his journey. Aimlessly holding onto being a "Merc" and a false "EX-SOLDIER." I would be lost... Drifting along...

Just had a thought "SPOILER WARNING" I am sure this has probably occurred to other fans too... The lyrics in the theme song Hollow there is a line which says "This time...I'm never going to let you go". Considering at the end of Ch.18 Cloud and the gang destroy the Whispers who are trying to keep the plot the same as the original...In remake Cloud has premonitions of Aerith's death so perhaps he can stop it. It would be amazing if Aerith's death could be prevented and she stays with him til the end. In the original game Cloud had so much regret about not being able to stop Aerith's death...this fits with the line "This time...I'm never going to let you go". I think he will do anything in his power to save Aerith from Sephiroth. Either way I am going to play the whole next installment through tear filled eyes. Having more overtly shown Cloud to fall in love for Aerith in remake- it will be even more soul destroying if she dies. Absolute heartbreak!

By now I'm practically certain Cloud will save Aerith in the temple. However, I'm just as certain it will have even greater consequences. Whether that's someone else dying, Sephiroth's new and greater evil plan coming to fruition, or even Aerith dying anyway at a different time and place, we'll just have to see ;-;

I just don't know how Cloud could save her when she is already a part of the lifestream. Square Enix CLEARLY said remake is the 5th part of the compilation to og FFVII.....She is already dead.

@@eternaldarkness2101 I really dont know how you misunderstood what SE said, but Aerith is dead on the OG timeline, and the remake itself is a Sequel. Aerith is still alive in this timeline and not part of the lifestream, its OG Aerith who is part of the lifestream not Remake, and there is a chance she will stay alive this time.

I don't think this song is just about Cloud and Aerith. This song has a broad meaning that covers everything about the Cloud ... His Suffering, His Past, His Childhood Promise (Tifa), Loss of a best Friend (Zack), Loss of His New Love (Aerith) and most importantly the chaos of Cloud's memory until Cloud finds his memory again, maybe that is the intention from "This time, I will never let you go" the memories of the real Cloud that will never go away again and chaotic. This song illustrates the sadness of a Cloud who ponders his mistakes, his memory, his loss, his promises and his hesitations, so he feels empty and hopeless But still this is just an opinion because it all depends on the Author

Then it plays again in the Credit scene........ followed by Aerith's theme and Cloud's theme (Main Theme) one right after another. "healing" "hidden behind that smile" "had I realized, would you be here in my embrace" Why tf do people need to put Tifa and/ Cloud's memory into the equation to begin with? Tifa never leaves. Cloud also is not really hung-up over the "childhood promise". Cloud's memory is just as absurd. Does that mean Cloud want to embrace himself?
