There's a little explaining to do in this video. I was asked by the Nexon Computer Museum to build a musical FDD exhibit like my own! It's been a very busy past few months because of it and other responsibilities. While I had the setup in my possession, I arranged this song for all 16 drives.
It's been a fantastic learning process, but I think I'd prefer to stick to my eight drive setup. I'm just so much more familiar with it and it takes a lot less time to put together a video. If you're interested in the museum exhibit, I'll be posting more info about it on my FB page later on!

And to think that this is so much better than most of the other remixes out there...
Your drives do this song justice.

The world really is full of strange and fantastic things.
Rumor has it that Nobuo Uematsu originally composed this tune for 16 floppies, but in the end Sony dropped the floppy drives in favor of a CD-ROM drive, so Uematsu switched it to electric guitar at the last moment.
I love how the one section (You know, Dih-dih-doo Doo-doo-doo Doo Doo-do Dih-dih-doo Doo-doo-doo-doooo) sounds so similar to the instrument used in the original track.

+Papyrus I'm pretty sure it's doo-do-dih dih-dih-dih doo-dih-do doo-dih dih-dih-dih doo-doo-dooo.

Why do I understand exactly which part you are referring to
It starts out kinda "yeah yeah, we know the floppy drive thing now", but then it turns into something that sounds like what you would get if Muse and Rob Hubbard did the DBZ fusion dance.
Hey, it requires a lot of disks to play. Sounds familiar?

That's how many carts the N64 ver would have required.
This reminds me of the turrets from portal 2 singing.
That first rest caught me off guard; so magical!
This is quite possibly the greatest purpose any floppy drive has ever served.
There couldn't have been a better implementation of SIXTEEN floppy drives for one song. This is outrageous and absolutely stunning. (I wish I still had my floppy drives... Yet I still have my 32 GB hard drive with scuzzy interface >~
I've listened to this on many different instruments now and it is certainly the best on floppy drives.
This is still by far my favorite song you have done so far! Keep up the good work!
oh my god. I don't care if it takes longer to edit a video, but there's just something much nicer about hearing 16 voices via floppy drives for music. it's just so much cleaner. I'd love to hear, if you can still, to put some other of your past work into 16-floppy format. this is truly and utterly amazing. I've already played this 5 times in a row now.... it just works so well.
Magnifique. Some of your finest work yet, Mr. Snake.
Every time I watch one of your videos you never cease to amaze me....bravo!!
Dude congrats on getting in the museum. This is truly a work of art, and a glimpse of your talent. I can only imagine the time and patience required in order for all of this to fall into one solid piece. Keep it man.
Can you imagine if this was in a office area back in the day, and all the computers are playing one instrument.
now all that is needed is a Chocobo plush in the center of the table...
Fantastic reworking on one of my favourite pieces of game music. LOVE IT especially the climbing and descending parts.
Solid, you just tickled the parts of my brain that gives me nostalgia. This is extremely well made and I kneel to your excellence.
this is some heroic level of efford. great channel mate!
you missed two great ingenius puns to place on the title, those who 'flop' further or still more 'flopping' maybe even 'flop' on too, and i just thought of them just now
This is the best video I have ever seen on KZread! Absolutely amazing!
I'm honestly amazed, fantastic job with this.
You sir, have made me appreciate floppy drives from now on. This is magical!
i believe that your way of play all those FDD all together and the way you capture the sound is the best on KZread, the sound is well balanced and clean. I love it :)
This is seriously insane. Love your videos, but this is by far my favorite...!!
This is the perfect instrument for this tune.
This should be the final boss music for a game where you fight some evil machine-like demon at the end. Awesome!
OH MY GOD,,, This is insane! I have no words for you man, incredible incredible job!!!
This is probably your best yet, whether you think it or not, I really appreciated the workd.
O.O Awesome! Got another table and everything! Congrats on the exhibit!

Thanks! Your latest videos have been really good btw. Keep it up!
This 16 drive compilation is still my favorite out of all of yours!
with more drives, you get a bit more of that blend and balance, and stitches things together.
i remember this theme very well after beat ff7 in 5 days of playing it rushing through it... that was a good week...

This is incredible! Thanks for sharing such an awesome video :D
We have the technology to send cameras to distant planets, communicate in almost real time to anybody in the world and understand more and more about the universe and our own bodies than we ever have before. I spent an hour and a half listening to this today.
Truly a gifted individual thanks for sharing with the world!
Had to put a hoodie on because it was giving me chills :D
Awesome! I couldn't even imagine of something like this.
I have no words to describe how awesome this is
Completely blown away by awesomeness :D
So many memories with that song. And it is actually a very good one.
This was absolutely fantastic! Immediately favorited.
This...this is...amazing. You sir, are an awesome human being.
This is pretty sick, nice work!
This 1 is just awesome!! I just love that *Slow* part.
Amazing as always. Keep up the good work.
This is incredible. Love it.
Well done sir, it sounds amazing!
Wow. Such a gritty wonderful sound.
By far some of your best :D Had me going as much as the original. Definitely worth the wait. Thank you for sharing!
Epic! Thanks for putting a big smile on my face! :D
The musical accuracy here is astounding. I'm not much of a computer geek, but this brought me back to the days of floppy disks and of course, I'm always good for some FF7 nostalgia.
Wow. That's crazy! Great work, good sir.
This is pure art!
I am impressed! Excellent work! The best song!
18 drives would of been harder to set up but that sounded so friken epic Great job dude!
Holy crap man, the guitars are spot-on!
This may be the coolest thing I've ever seen.
Absolutely Stunning!
This is AMAZING! GOOD JOB!!
Amazing! Brings back memories
I just loved this short pauses.
Wow...just wow....amazing job!
Do Jenova Absolute next.
Wow, amazing sound!
This is beautiful. While 8 drives is often enough, 16 completes it. It'd be nice to see J-E-N-O-V-A done, but I'm not sure the song is exactly conducive to being played on floppy drives.
wow this is awesome, you did great job here.
I haven't been this impressed with anything in a while
This is absolutely genius and epic!!!
This is just so fantastic
I respect that you want to keep the creative process simple and streamlined, but man, with 16 drives it sounds great.
a masterpiece, well done sir
This is the most epic thing I think I've ever seen. Ever.
This is almost the sound my first ps made when it caked on me. Also, this is awesome!
Happy. :D At least for this song, I really liked the 16-drive setup. Sometimes on your other videos, it's harder to hear the melody through the background, but I had no trouble here.
great job, sounds awesome!
Dear lord this is amazing.
Chills just ran down my spine holy shit this is good!
Impressive! I can't imagine the time and patience it takes to set this up.
!!!!! GENIUS !!!!! Its almost sounds the same way as the original Tune. My God !!!!!!
16 bit audio? SMOKIN'!!
This has made me ridonkulously happy
Really good work ! Great music too :)
This totally brings back my childhood!
Genius. Beautiful, sweet genius. THANK YOU. I feel enriched and my soul has been vindicated. Long live technology.
Simply amazing.
Can definitely see an increase in quality from using 16 Floppy Drives. Great song to choose for it as well.
You had one job...and you NAILED IT!!
16 Floppy drives... Can we say it's some kind of 16 bit sound?
It's amazing, good job! You're genius :D
This was just awesome.
Incredible , great song.
so this is what the world has come to huh? we've resorted to using floppy disk drives to make covers of music? 10/10 thumbs up.
